Product Information: IMclean DAD4

The IMclean DAD4 is a diagnostic device used for vehicle diagnostics. It comes with various cables and accessories to support different types of connections. The device can be connected to a PC via USB or Bluetooth for data transfer and diagnostic purposes. It also has indicator lights to provide visual feedback on its status.

Product Usage Instructions

Installing DAD4 Drivers:

1. Navigate to www.drewtech.com
2. Choose Support > Downloads
3. Scroll to IMclean DAD4
4. Click on the “Click here” next to Set-up
5. Choose Save (Internet Explorer) or Run
6. Read the end user license agreement and check the “I agree…” checkbox, then click Install
7. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation
8. Click Exit
9. Connect the IMclean to the USB cable and plug the USB cable into your PC

Updating IMclean DAD4 Drivers:

1. Go to Start > All Programs > Drew Technologies, Inc > IMclean DA Support and Updater
2. Click Next
3. Confirm that the USB cable and Vehicle Cable are plugged into the IMclean DAD4, then click OK
4. Click Update now
5. Follow the on-screen directions
6. Click Ok
7. Follow DAD4 Driver installation steps listed in the manual
8. Go to Start > All Programs > Drew Technologies, Inc > IMclean DA Support and Updater
9. Click Next
10. Confirm that the driver is up to date

Connecting IMclean DAD4 with Bluetooth:
Note: Bluetooth functionality is not available when the IMclean is connected via USB to the PC.

1. Insert the Bluetooth Dongle into a USB port on your PC (if your PC does not have built-in Bluetooth)
2. Right-click the Bluetooth icon in the system tray in the lower right corner of your screen
3. Click Add a Bluetooth Device
4. Click Add a Bluetooth or Another Device
5. Click on Bluetooth
6. Wait until you see “IMclean-GEN4-######” and click on it
7. You may be prompted to enter a pairing code. The code is 2534.
   Note: Only one IMclean BT device should be paired with your PC at a time.

Performing a Self Test:

1. Confirm that the USB cable and Vehicle cable are plugged into the IMclean DAD4, then click OK
2. Go to Start > All Programs > Drew Technologies, Inc > IMclean DA Support and Updater
3. Click Next
4. Click OK
5. Click Next
6. Click Run a Self Check
7. Click Perform a Self Check

Selecting Your IMclean Gen4 in California BAR OIS:

1. Open OIS from the Desktop icon
2. Click File > Self Diagnostics
3. Scroll to the Bottom of the page
4. Click Configure
5. Select DrewTechnologiesSeriesDA from the dropdown menu
6. Leave the DAD port blank
7. Click Continue

Installing DAD4 Drivers

1. Navigate to www.drewtech.com
   

2. Choose Support>Downloads
   

3. Scroll to IMclean DAD4.

4. Click on the “Click here” next to Set-up.

5. Choose Save (Internet Explorer).

6. Choose Run
   
   

7. Read the end user license agreement and then check the “I agree….” click Install.
   

8. Wait…

9. Follow on screen prompts to complete installation.
   

10. Click Exit.
    

11. Connect the IMclean to the USB cable and plug the USB cable into your PC.

Updating IMclean DAD4 Drivers

1. Go to Start>All Programs>Drew Technologies, Inc>IMclean DA Support and Updater

2. Click next.
   

3. Confirm that the USB cable and Vehicle Cable are plugged into the IMclean DAD4. Click OK
   

4. Click Update now.

5. Follow on screen directions.
   

6. Click Ok.
   

7. Follow DAD4 Driver installation steps listed in the manual.

8. Go to Start>All Programs>Drew Technologies, Inc>IMclean DA Support Updater

9. Click next.
   

10. Confirm that the driver is up to date.
    

Connect IMclean DAD4 with Bluetooth

Bluetooth is inoperable when the IMclean is connected by USB to the PC

1. Insert the Bluetooth Dongle into a USB port on your PC(if your PC does not have built in Bluetooth)

2. Right click the Bluetooth icon in the system tray in the lower right corner of your screen.

3. Click “Add a Bluetooth Device”

4. Click “Add a Bluetooth or Another Device”
   

5. Click on Bluetooth
   

6. Wait until you seen “IMclean-GEN4-######” and click on it.
   

7. You may be prompted to enter a pairing code. The code is 2534.
   You must only have One (1) IMclean BT paired with your PC at any time. The IMclean driver will inform you if you have multiple devices paired to your PC and will stop functioning.

Performing a self test

1. Confirm that the USB cable and Vehicle cable is plugged into the IMclean DAD4. Click OK
   

2. Go to Start>All Programs>Drew Technologies, Inc>IMclean DA Support and Updater

3. Click next.
   

4. Click OK.
   

5. Click next.
   

6. Click “Run a Self Check”.
   

7. Click “Perform a Self Check”.
   

8. If the DAD does not pass the test, leave this screen up when you contact Technical Support as it will help them diagnose the issue you are having.

DAD4 Indicator Lights

Auxiliary power cable usage:
There are three types of Auxiliary power cables:

• External Battery Charger – used to charge the battery or perform a self test • Cigarette lighter power adapter – used when there is no power at the DLC for performing a vehicle test or a self test
• Battery cable power adapter – used when there is no power at the DLC & cigarette lighter for performing a vehicle test or a self test

Any of the cables can be plugged into the barrel port between the Vehicle Cable and Self test cable ports.

IMclean Cables
The cables provided with the IMclean are proprietary. Attempting to use the IMclean with cables not produced by Drew Technologies will cause the IMclean to not communicate with vehicles or the PC.
Using a NON-DrewTech vehicle cable will cause the Cable light to be red on the IMclean.
Cable extensions for either the USB or Vehicle cable is not approved and is a modification to the certified hardware package. OBD extenders can cause CAN communication failures. Using USB extenders can cause data to et lost when going over the USB maximum distance.

Initial IMclean Setup
When getting started with your IMclean, we recommend starting using the wired connection to the PC. You MUST have the red vehicle cable connected to the IMclean, or else the IMclean will NOT communicate with the PC and the Cable LED will be red.

Selecting Your IMclean Gen4 in California BAR OIS
Open OIS from the Desktop icon. Click File>Self Diagnostics. Scroll to the Bottom of the page. Click Configure. Select “DrewTechnologiesSeriesDA” from the dropdown menu. Leave the DAD port blank. Click Continue.

Uninstalling your DAD
Drew If you wish to remove the IMclean device from your computer permanently, you can remove all software by using the uninstall feature from Windows control panel.
