Safety Operation Rules

Please read this document carefully before using the device. The device is not intended to be used by children under the age of 14 or by persons with reduced physical, mental or intellectual abilities if they do not have sufficient experience or knowledge of its operation, and if they are not under the supervision of a person responsible for their safety. The device is intended for domestic use only. Do not use the device outdoors. Before use, make sure that the rated voltage and frequency indicated in the technical specifications correspond to the parameters of the electricity supply. Use the device with dry hands only. Make sure that the power cord does not get twisted, bent or pressed by anything, and does not come into contact with hot objects or heat sources. Do not use a device that is damaged or has previously fallen into water. Do not disassemble or repair the device yourself. Repairs must be performed by a qualified service technician of a service centre. Use the device in a well-ventilated area away from flammable objects. Do not place the grill under wall cabinets and/or shelves or near indoor plants. Use caution when handling a hot device. Open and close the grill only by using the lid handle. Turn and remove food only with non-sharp, heat-resistant kitchen tools (spatula, tongs). Do not leave the device that has been turned on unattended. Small characteristic crackles and clicks during heating are not a defect of the device. Do not wash the grill in the dishwasher or under running water. Do not use chemical or aggressive detergents, abrasive pastes, acids, solvents, or metal sponges for cleaning. Do not allow children to use and/or play with the device. Before First Use

  1. Open the packaging and remove the device. Remove all packaging aeno.com/document  materials.

  2. Slide the lid lock (fig. B) and open the grill.
    Note. By default, the grill opens to 105°. To open the grill to 180°, gently lower the lid (fig. C) by first pressing and holding the hinge release button.

  3. Wipe the cooking plates with a soft cloth dampened with a warm detergent solution, then with a cloth dampened with clean water. Wipe the cooking plates dry.

  4. Perform a test run (see below).

Test Run

Note. A test run of the device is performed without using any food.

  1. Place the grill on a stable horizontal surface.

  2. Close the lid of the device and plug the power cord into an outlet.

  3. Set the temperature control knob to the “MAX” position. The heating indicator will light up.
    WARNING! A small amount of smoke and a characteristic odour during the test run are not a defect of the device.

  4. Wait until the heating indicator turns off.

  5. Set the temperature control knob to the “0” position, unplug the device.

  6. Open the grill and wait for it to cool completely.

  7. Wipe the cooking plates with a soft cloth dampened with clean water, then wipe them dry. The grill is ready for use.

Operation

  1. Prepare the products: wash and/or peel them if necessary, chop large products, thaw frozen foods.
    Note. Cooking time will depend on the type of product, the thickness of the cut and the desired degree of doneness.

  2. Make sure that the grease drip tray is inserted into the grill (fig. D).

  3. If necessary, put a small amount of oil/butter on the cooking plates.

  4. Close the grill and plug it in.

  5. Set the desired temperature using the control knob. The heating indicator will light up.

  6. Wait until the heating indicator turns off.

  7. Choose one of the cooking methods:
    On a closed grill (fig. E): lift the lid and place the food on the lower plate. Gently lower the lid. Leave the food to cook until the desired doneness.
    Note. If you need to check if the food is ready while cooking is in progress, gently lift the lid by its handle.
    On an open grill (fig. F): open the grill to 180° by pressing and holding the hinge release button, and place the food on the cooking plates. Leave the food to cook until desired doneness, turning it occasionally with a special spatula or tongs (not included).

  8. Once the desired degree of doneness has been reached, turn the temperature knob to the “0” position and unplug the device.

  9. Remove cooked products from the plates.

  10. Wait for the device to cool down completely and clean it (see below).

Cleaning and Maintenance

  1. Carefully remove the grease drip tray from the device.
  2. Use paper towels to remove food residue and grease from the cooking plates and the drip tray.
  3. Clean the cooking plates and the drip tray with a soft cloth dampened with a warm detergent solution. Then wipe with a cloth dampened with clean water.
  4. Wipe the cooking plates and the drip tray dry.
  5. Install the drip tray in the device.

Troubleshooting

  1. The device does not turn on. Possible cause: a defective outlet. Solution: check if the outlet is working properly by plugging in another device, if necessary, plug the grill into a working outlet.
  2. The device turns on but does not heat up. Possible cause: the temperature is not set correctly. Solution: set the temperature in the range between “MIN” and “MAX” using the temperature control knob.
  3. The heating indicator turned off while the device was in operation. Possible cause: overheating protection was activated. Solution: set the temperature control knob to the “0” position, unplug the device and let it cool down. To continue cooking, turn the device on again.
    ATTENTION! If none of the suggested methods fixes the problem, contact the supplier or a service centre. Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the device yourself.
