Installation Instructions
Before installing, read all instructions. Only certified mechanics should install Dirt King products. Mandatory wheel alignment and ADAS calibration at certified facilities are required after suspension modifications. Failure to do so can lead to handling problems and safety risks. Step 1: Remove Shocks
- Remove lower shock hardware. Do not discard.
- Remove upper shock hardware.
- Remove shock from vehicle.
Step 2: Reservoir Mount Install
- Remove factory plastic cover located on passenger side frame rail.
- Install step washer in place of the plastic cover. One washer goes on outer frame rail and one washer goes on inner frame rail.
- Using provided hardware, install reservoir mount to frame rail. Torque to 30ft lbs.
- Using provided band clamp, secure reservoir mount to frame. Band clamp should be fitted to cutouts on reservoir mount.
- On left side of vehicle, wheel liner needs to be trimmed to allow space for the reservoir shown in image below.
Note : Fuel pump controller may need to be loosened and moved upwards to provide clearance for reservoir mounting hardware.
Step 3: Install Dirt King Shocks
- Install upper shock into mount, ensure the shock is centered in the mount and torque hardware to 18ft lbs. Reservoir hose should be routed towards the rear of the vehicle.
- Install lower shock hardware and torque to 43ft lbs.
Note : Upper mount must be installed and torqued to spec before the lower mount.
Step 4: Mount Shock Reservoir
- Install shock reservoir into mount.
- Torque hardware for reservoir clamps to 12ft lbs.
Step 5: Inspect your work
- Thoroughly go over your work.
- Repeat steps for opposite side of vehicle.
- Reinstall wheels and torque lug nuts to your wheel manufacturers specs.
