Product Usage Instructions

Step 1: Raise the Vehicle and Prepare for Installation

  • Safely support the vehicle.
  • Remove the front tires.
  • Remove the wheel well aprons to the left and right of the control arm.

Step 2: Unbolt the Brake Line Assembly Bracket

NOTE: Do not loosen any brake line fittings.

Step 3: Release the ABS Line from the Factory Bracket

NOTE : Be cautious not to pinch the ABS line in the process.

Step 4: Remove Upper Control Arm

  • Support the front suspension lower control arm with a jack.
  • Remove the cotter pin and loosen the castle nut.
  • Separate the upper ball joint from the knuckle using a ball joint puller.
  • Remove the nut and washer from the upper arm bolt. Cut off the bolt head to remove the bolt towards the rear of the vehicle.

Step 5: Install Dirt King Upper Control Arm

  • Insert the new upper control arm bolt with the supplied washers on the outside of the bushings. Ensure the bolt head faces towards the rear of the vehicle. Apply red thread locker and torque nut to 85ft lbs.
  • Install the ball joint to the knuckle. Torque the castle nut to 81ft lbs. and install a new cotter pin.
  • Attach the ABS line to the control arm using the supplied line clamp.
  • Reinstall the brake line assembly bracket. Torque the bolt to 24ft lbs.

Step 6: Review Your Work and Repeat Steps to Other Side of Vehicle

  • Confirm everything is installed correctly. Ensure the ABS line has enough slack and the control arm is not contacting the shock reservoir hose.
  • Reinstall the factory well aprons to the left and right of the control arm.

Step 7: Reinstall Wheels and Align Vehicle

  • Reinstall wheels and torque lug nuts to your wheel manufacturer’s specs.
  • Have the vehicle aligned at a qualified shop. If your vehicle is equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), ensure it is recalibrated.

  1. Step 1 : Raise the vehicle and prepare for installation.

    • Safely support the vehicle.
    • Remove the front tires.
    • Remove the wheel well aprons to the left and right of the control arm.
  2. Step 2 : Unbolt the brake line assembly bracket.
    NOTE : Do not loosen any brake line fittings.

  3. Step 3 : Release the ABS line from the factory bracket.

  4. Step 4 : Remove upper control arm.

    • Support the front suspension lower control arm with a jack.
    • Remove the cotter pin and loosen the castle nut.
    • Separate the upper ball joint from the knuckle using a ball joint puller.
    • Remove the nut and washer from the upper arm bolt. Cut off the bolt head to remove the bolt towards the rear of the vehicle.
  5. Step 5 : Install Dirt King upper control arm.

    • Insert the new upper control arm bolt with the supplied washers on the outside of the bushings. Ensure the bolt head faces towards the rear of the vehicle. Apply red thread locker and torque nut to 85ft lbs.
    • Install the ball joint to the knuckle. Torque the castle nut to 81ft lbs. and install new cotter pin.
    • Attach the ABS line to the control arm using the supplied line clamp.
    • Reinstall the brake line assembly bracket. Torque the bolt to 24ft lbs.
  6. Step 6 : Review your work and repeat steps to other side of vehicle.

    • Confirm everything is installed correctly. Ensure the ABS line has enough slack and the control arm is not contacting the shock reservoir hose.
    • Reinstall the factory well aprons to the left and right of the control arm.
  7. Step 7 : Reinstall wheels and align vehicle.

    • Reinstall wheels and torque lug nuts to your wheel manufacturer’s specs.
