Product Usage Instructions
Safety Instructions and Warnings
Please read the user manual before using the device. Always pull the power
plug before any maintenance or handling. Be aware of warning signs and
electrical voltage hazards.
Introduction
Congratulations on your pump purchase. Functional security and operational
safety are our top priorities.
Ranges of Application
These pumps are designed for pumping clear water without mud and sand. They
can be used for various applications such as filling and emptying rain tanks,
water re-circulation, rainwater use in house and garden, pumping water from
streams, ponds, and more.
Installation
Attach a long rope to the handle before first use. Submerge the pump into
the liquid using this rope. Install the pump ensuring the suction openings are
not blocked by debris. Keep the appliance stable on a firm base.
Servicing
Regular servicing is recommended to maintain optimal pump performance.
Refer to the user manual for specific maintenance guidelines.
Recognizing and Repairing Mistakes
Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|
Pump runs, no water is being pumped | Air in the system (cannot escape) or |
impeller wheel is
blocked| Let out air from the system or clean the impeller wheel
Pump does not start or switches itself off| Engine guard has switched pump
off, pump needs cooling, no
electricity, or pump inserted too deep| Check engine guard, ensure cooling,
check electrical
connections, adjust pump depth
Pump runs, capacity slows down or stops| Hose connections have a leak or
impeller wheel is worn
down| Check for leaks in hose connections, and replace worn impeller
wheel if necessary
FAQ
-
Q: Can these pumps be used for continuous operation?
A: These pumps are designed for intermittent use. Continuous operation may lead to overheating and reduced lifespan. -
Q: What is the maximum water depth these pumps can handle?
A: The pumps can be lowered up to a water depth of 7m or up to 19m depending on the model. Refer to the technical data forspecific information.

SAFETY INSTRUCTION AND WARNINGS
INTRODUCTION
We would like to congratulate you on the purchase of our pump. We appreciate your trust. That‘s why funtional security and operational safety stands by us on first place.
To prevent damage to persons or property, you should read this user manual
carefully. Please observe all safety precautions and instructions for proper
use of the pump. Failure to follow the instructions and safety precautions can
result in injury or property damage.
Please keep this manual with the instructions and safety instructions
carefully in order to at any time you can restore them. Please always download
the latest version of the user manual of www.profi-pumpe.de under „downloads“.
This shall always prevail.
IN GENERAL
The pumps are developed according to the newest stand of technology,
manufactured with much care and go under strict intensive controls. These
pumps were optimised by us in particular for the special demands in dirty
water areras. Make sure after unpacking the pump that the data given on the
type label match with the included operating instructions. In case of doubt
the pump is not to be used.
Transport damages are immediately to be reported to the package distributor
and to us in written form.
RANGES OF APPLICATION
These pumps are made for pumping clear water (free of mud and sand, see
technical data and point 6)
The pumps are made for the following ranges of application:
- Filling and emptying rain tanks and containers
- For water re-circulation
- For rainwater use in house and garden
- Pumping water from a brook a stream
- Use in a pond
- Others
IMPORTANT!
The pumps are designed for pumping clean water and chemically non-aggressive
liquids. Any gua-rantee is void in case of improper use. They are not suitable
for pumping flammable liquids or for use in places where there is danger of an
explosion. The pumps are designed for home use in the house and garden. The
pumps are not designed for continuous operation or for professional work.
Never run more than 5 minutes against a closed valve pump. Save the pump
against dry running (install dry run protection).
Never start and stop the pump more than 20 times per hour. When the pump
clocks, any claim under warranty is void. Not suitable for use with solar
photovoltaic panels. Submersi-ble pumps may not be used in swimming pools.
OPERATION
The installation must be performed by a qualified professional.
Please, check each time before using, the electrical connections and the
cables are not da-maged. Check before the installation whether the electrical
connections are earthed accor-ding to the statutory regulations and are
installed. The pump is to be secured through a RCD circuit breaker with
release current of 30 mA.
Also, it is NOT recommended to perform, for example, a cable extension. It is
not certain whether this modification is technically correct, so this warranty
is void. It must be ensured that the pump is sufficiently cooled during
prolonged operation.
It is not recommended to perform even cable extensions or other technical
modifications. A transfer of mechanical loads or vibrations from the pump or
must be eliminated through appropriate measures (rubber buffers, braided
hoses, line fixation, etc.).
All cables to and from the pump must be sealed. Check valve and water pipes
for leaks at least by means of pressure testing for 24h.
INSTALLATION
Attach a sufficiently long and strong rope to the handle before first use. The pump is submerged into the liquid on this holding rope and can also be carried with it as well as with the handle.
Note:
In the case of continuous use of the pump with the rope, the condition of the
rope must be checked regularly as it can decay and break over time.
- Connect pressure pipe. For occasional use, use a suitable water hose. The use of rigid pipes with a non-return valve is recommended for use at a fixed location. This prevents return flow of the liquid when switching off.
- Screw pressure line onto the pressure connection. All threaded connections must be sealed with thread sealing tape (e. g. Teflon® tape).
- When using a hose, screw a suitable hose adapter onto the pressure connection.
- Push the hose firmly onto the hose adapter and secure with a hose clamp.
- When used in rainwater tanks, the installation of a floating outlet is mandatory for the Rain-Star SUPER 750/900/1000/1400. Attach the end of the floating tapping using a separate retaining cable so that the suction of dirt, especially bottom sediment, is always prevented even when the tank is empty.

- The pumps can be lowered up to a water depth of 7m or depending on the model to 19m (see technical data on last page).
- Install the appliance so that the suction openings cannot be blocked by debris (place the appliance on a firm, even base if necessary).
- Ensure that the appliance is stable.
SERVICING
Under normal pumping conditions the pump requires no servicing. From an
operating period (with clear water) of approx. 2000 hours the mechanical
components should be checked: impeller wheels, chambers, sealing rings etc. on
wear and if necessary be changed. After 3000 pumping hours the oil in the
chamber should also be changed, if necessary (only with oil-dipped engine
types!).
Please, only fill it up to 80% and check the sealing rings always for density.
With abrasive materials like sand the servicing duration can become shorter.
The following controls should be carried out regularly:
- Intactness of the electric cable
- That the connection hoses are not bent or broken
- Cleanness of the pump medium
- Moreover, the pump should be emptied with risk of frost, be washed out with clear water and stored dry.

- Pay attention to the medium temperature max. 35°C
- Never pull the pump on the electrical cable or pressure hose
- Avoid cross section narrowing
- Pay attention to the given particle size
- The grain size mentioned does not refer to sand or stones but rather to soft, flexible particles such as fluff and similar which the rotor cannot wedge inside the pump.
- During longer unused times, clean the pump, wash it out with clear water, dry and store it at room temperature
- Test wells for enough flowing water (dry run danger)
- The pump is to be secured through a RCD circuit breaker with a release current of 30 mA.
- The electrical connections are always to be carried out by an authorised professional.
- The pump may be used by children aged 8 years and above as well as persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or those who lack skills, experience and knowledge only if they are supervised. - Cleaning and maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision.
- The pump must not be used or operated under any circumstances when there are people in the same water.
- Under certain cirumstances, it is possible that that contamination of water is caused by leakage.
