McLED Jinbo_2024 Power Supply For LED Strips

Congratulations on buying an McLED power supply! To ensure that your products serves you well and long time, please read this manual carefully prior to installing it. Power supplies may only installed by qualified persons – There is a risk of electric shock!

Characteristics of McLED power supplies

  • The power supply is fitted with integrated overload and shortcircuit protection.
  • The nominal output of the power supply specifies the maximum load that can be connected to the supply short-term.
  • To achieve the longest possible lifespan of the power supply, keep the power supply load up to 80% of the nominal value (for example, if your power supply has the output of 100 W, do not connected load exceeding 80 W.)
  • High efficiency – power saving.
  • Compact size and easy installation.
  • IP20 power supplies are suitable for use in interiors (dry environments).
  • The power supplies (IP67) are also suitable for outdoor use.

Installation and operating environment

  1. Ensure that the input voltage is within the specified technical parameters placed on the power supply.
  2. Ensure that the power supply operates in a clean environment and that the level of coverage of the power supply is adequate for the relevant environment.
  3. Do not overload the power supply – the recommended load is up to 80% of the nominal output of the power supply.
  4. Ensure proper ventilation for the power supply as shown in the image. (A)
  5. The supplies can be installed on wood or other flammable materials. Do not place supplies on top of each other. (B)
  6. Do not place power supplies in flammable or explosive environments. (C)
  7. If the power supply has several outputs, they must be loaded equally or their appropriate polarities must be connected to each other.

Power supplies fitted with a screw terminal:
Always disconnect from power supply before installation. Ensure that the connecting cables are connected correctly.

  • INPUT : (L, N) = input AC voltage
  • earthing
  • OUTPUT : +V, – (COM) = DC voltage

Power supplies with output cable:

  • Input 230V AC:
    • Green and yellow wire – earth
    • Black wire – live (L)
    • White/blue wire – neutral (N)
  • Output 12/24V DC:
    • Red/brown, white – plus (V+)
    • Black/blue – minus (COM)

For power supplies with more outputs, the total output is divided between more outputs (for example: power supply with power 200 W and 2 outputs = each output can supply a load up to 200W/2 outputs= 100W.

Warning for connecting cables and load:

  1. The power supply will be automatically protected if the load exceeds the maximum nominal output performance(5 % to 20 % over the maximum output value).
  2. Be aware that long leads result in voltage drop. Therefore, avoid using long leads.
  3. Select an interconnecting cable with the appropriate cross section in view of voltage drop.

Troubleshooting:

The power supplies are fitted with protections that disconnect the power supply whenever short circuit or overload occurs. To avoid any problems, it is necessary to check the entire connection carefully before switching the power supply on for the first time.

Connection is not working, lights are not on:

  1. Check the connection and the input power.
  2. Check that short circuit did not occur on the output.
  3. Check the correct connection of + and – on the output.
  4. Check if the LED warning light on the power supply is on, if the power supply is fitted with this light.

Power supply is overheating:

  1. Observe correct ventilation of the power supply.
  2. Check that the power supply is not being overloaded.

Unstable output (flashing):

  1. Check that the power supply is not being overloaded and that the output cables are not damaged.
  2. Check that the power supply is not placed in an environment with strong interference or strong magnetic field.

LED strip does not light properly, the light is weak:

  1. Check the output voltage (12V or 24V).
  2. Check that appropriate cables have been selected in view of voltage drop.
  3. Check that the power supply is not being overloaded.

Operating environment

  • Operating temperature of the power supply IP20: -25 °C to +50 °C
  • Operating temperature of the power supply IP67: -25 °C to +40 °C
  • Storage conditions: -25 °C to +60 °C
