INSTALLATION
STEP 1
Choose a suitable container. Cut the 8/11mm Tubing (A) to an appropriate
length covering the distance from the container bottom to the plants.
STEP 2
Plug the 8mm Tubing Connector in the box of the Submerged Pump (F) into the
pump. Connect one end of the cut 8/11mm Tubing (A) to the Tubing Connector.
STEP 3
Connect the other end of cut 8/11mm Tubing (A) to the Tubing Adapter (C):
Unscrew one of the 8mm port caps on the adapter put the cut 8/11mm Tubing (A)
through the cap and connect. Screw on and tighten the cap.
STEP 4
Cut a small piece about 10 cm long from the 8/11mm Tubing (A) and connect it
to the other 8mm Tubing Adapter (C) port referenced in STEP 3. Connect the
other end of the 8/11mm Tubing to the End Cap (E) referenced in STEP 3.
STEP 5
Cut the 4/7mm Tubing (B) into two equal lengths and connect them to the 4mm
ports on the Tubing Adapter (C) and the two Regulators (D) as shown.
STEP 6
Insert the Drip Emitters (D) into the plants’ growing medium. We suggest two
per pot.
STEP 7
Switch the Submerged Pump (F) to the desired flow rate, place it in the water
container, and fix it in place using the suction feet. Add water and/or
nutrient solution to the container until the pump is submerged.
Note:
Ensure the water level is always above the top of the pump.
STEP 8
Keep the Drip Emitters (D) a little higher than the water level in the
container, but not more than 1m vertically higher to keep water flowing
smoothly. If the Drip Emitter cannot be placed higher than the container’s
water level, use the Hole Punch (H) to poke a hole in the outlet tubing close
to the pump side. The part of the tubing with a punched hole must be inside
the container.
STEP 9
Set the current time on the Timer (G) according to the Current Time Setting in
the Timer’s manual. Set irrigating schedules on the Timer (G) according to the
Timer Program Setting in the Timer’s manual.
Irrigation Schedule
|
Timer Settings
---|---
Start time of each irrigation| At the time of each cycle
Runtime of each irrigation| Length between ON and OFF time, Min: 1min
Irrigating times per day| Number of the ON/OFF settings, Max: 20
Please see the recommended irrigating schedules in the Application in this manual.
Note:
It is important to check the conditions of plants and growing medium regularly
and adjust the schedules accordingly.
STEP 10
Plug the Timer (G) into the nearby AC outlet and plug the Submerged Pump (F)
into the Timer. Press the Mode button to “AUTO OFF” (shown on screen) and it
will start to irrigate at the next start time scheduled.
APPLICATION
Please read the following information about the application before using this product to grow:
-
Growing medium
It is suggested to use this product in a loose and aerated growing medium such as mixed soil, coco coir, perlite, and rock wool. -
Start time of each irrigation
The first irrigation of each day shall start 1-2 hours after the light turns on and the last irrigation shall stop 1-2 hours before the light turns off. It is suggested not to irrigate when the light is off. -
Runtime of each irrigation
The runtime should be long enough to make irrigating water just start seeping out of the pot. Check the plants and medium regularly and adjust runtime accordingly.- Note: The runtime varies for different sizes of pots, plant types and stages, environmental conditions, etc.
-
Irrigation frequency
In the seedling and vegetative stages, plants should be irrigated 1-2 times per day. In the flowering stage, plants only need to be irrigated 1 time per day or every other day. Reduce irrigation times for larger pots.- Note: The suitable irrigating frequency varies for different plant types and environmental conditions.
-
Routing management
Check the water level, temperature, pH, and EC in your container regularly. Keep the water temperature around 20°C-22°C (68°F-72°F), and pH 5.8-6.5 to get the best irrigation for your plants. Adjust the EC of nutrient water according to the growing condition of plants. -
About fertilizer
Use water-soluble fertilizer or liquid nutrients. Ensure the fertilizer is sufficiently dissolved. -
Maintenance
Check the water pump and drip emitters regularly and clean them if necessary to prevent clogging.- Note: If the emitters stop watering but are not clogged, unplug the tubing from the pump and turn it on to empty the air in the pump.
