Frequently Asked Questions

Working with Apple HomeKit
You may use your POP button / switch with the Apple HomeKit, this is achieved entirely through the Apple Home app. You must use a 2.4Ghz network to use POP with Apple HomeKit.

  1. Set up your Apple HomeKit and any other HomeKit accessories you may have, before adding POP. (If you need help with this step, please refer to Apple support)
  2. Open the Home app and tap the Add Accessory button (or  +  if available).
  3. Wait for your accessory to appear, then tap it. If asked to add an Accessory to the Network, tap Allow.
  4. With the camera on your iOS device, scan the eight-digit HomeKit code on the accessory or enter the code manually.
  5. Add information about your accessory, like its name or the room it’s located in. Siri will identify your accessory by the name you give it and the location it’s in.
  6. To finish, tap Next, then tap Done. Your POP bridge will have a name similar to logi:xx: xx.
  7. Some accessories, like Phillips Hue lighting and Honeywell thermostats, require an additional setup with the manufacturer’s app.
  8. For up-to-date instructions on adding an accessory, directly from Apple, please see:

Add an accessory to Home
You cannot use one POP button / switch simultaneously with the Apple Home app and Logitech POP app, you must first remove your button / switch from one app before adding it to the other. When adding or replacing a POP button/switch, you may be required to factory reset that button/switch (not the bridge) to pair it to your Apple HomeKit setup.

Factory resetting your POP

Factory resetting your POP button/switch
If you are having sync issues with your button/switch, trouble removing it from a bridge using the mobile app, or Bluetooth pairing issues, then you may need to factory reset your button/switch:

  1. Long Press on the button/switch for about 20 seconds.
  2. Re-add the button / switch using the Logitech POP mobile app.

Factory resetting your POP Bridge
If you’re trying to change the account associated with your bridge or restart your setup from scratch for any reason, you’ll need to reset your bridge:

  1. Unplug your POP Bridge.
  2. Plug it back in while simultaneously pressing the Logi logo/button on the front of your bridge for three seconds.
  3. If the LED turns off after rebooting, the reset is not successful. You may not have been pressing the button on your bridge as it was plugged in.

Wi-Fi connections

POP supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi routers. The 5 GHz Wi-Fi frequency is not supported; however, POP should still be able to discover devices on your network regardless of what frequency they are connected with. To scan for and detect devices on your network, please ensure your mobile device and POP bridge are both on the same Wi-Fi network. Please note that N mode works with WPA2/AES and OPEN security. N mode does not work with WPA (TKES+AES), WEP 64bit/128bit open or shared encryption such as 802.11 specification standard.

Changing Wi‑Fi networks
Open the Logitech POP mobile app and navigate to MENU > BRIDGES, tap the bridge you’d like to modify. You’ll be guided through changing Wi‑Fi networks for the selected bridge.

  • Supported Wi‑Fi channels: POP supports all unrestricted Wi-Fi channels, this includes using the Auto channel feature included in most modems within the settings.
  • Supported Wi‑Fi modes: B/G/N/BG/BGN (Mixed mode is also supported).

Using multiple Wi‑Fi networks
When using multiple Wi‑Fi networks, it’s important to have a separate POP account for each network. For example, if you have a work setup as well as a home setup in different locations with different Wi‑Fi networks, you may decide to use your email for your home setup and another email for your work setup. This is because all of your buttons/switches will appear within your POP account, making multiple setups within the same account confusing or difficult to manage.

Here are some tips when using multiple Wi‑Fi networks:

  • The social media login option works best when only used for one POP account.
  • To change the POP account of a button/switch, remove it from its current account using the Logitech POP mobile app, then press the button / switch for about ten seconds to factory reset it. You may now set up your button / switch on a new POP account.

Working with Philips Hue
When it’s time to party, use Pop and Philips Hue to help set the mood. The music is playing and the guests are enjoying themselves, it’s time to POP the party into second gear. Troubleshooting connections

Button / Switch to bridge connections

If your setup results in one or more switches being out of range, you may want to consider adjusting your setup or purchasing an additional bridge. If you continue to experience issues. Factory resetting your button/switch and bridge may resolve the issue.

Mobile to bridge connections
If you’re having trouble connecting your mobile device to your bridge, one of the following issues may be affecting your connection:

  • Wi‑Fi: Ensure your mobile device has Wi‑Fi enabled and is connected to the same network as your bridge. The 5 GHz Wi-Fi frequency is not supported; however, POP should still be able to discover devices on your network regardless of what frequency they are connected with.
  • Bluetooth: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device and that both your button/switch and mobile device are close to your POP bridge.
  • If you continue to experience issues. Factory resetting your button/switch and bridge may resolve the issue.

Your POP button/switch is water-resistant, which means it’s ok to clean it using a cloth with rubbing alcohol or soap and water. Do not expose liquids or solvents to your POP Bridge.

Troubleshooting Bluetooth connections
Bluetooth range is impacted by interiors which includes walls, wiring and other radio devices. The maximum  Bluetooth  range for POP is up to about 50 feet, or about 15 meters; however, your household ranges will vary based on specific electronics in your house and your home’s building structure and wiring.

General Bluetooth troubleshooting

  • Make sure your POP setup is within range of your device(s).
  • Make sure your Bluetooth device or devices are fully charged and/or connected to a power source  (if applicable).
  • Ensure you have the latest firmware available for your  Bluetooth  device(s).
  • Unpair, then put your device in pairing mode and reattempt the pairing process.

Using Sonos groups

Sonos enhancements support detecting and grouping multiple devices. Grouping multiple Sonos:

  1. Drag and drop one Sonos device over the top of another to create a group.
  2. All Sonos devices can be grouped (e.g., a PLAY-1 with a Play bar).
  3. Tapping on a group name provides additional options to select Sonos favourites.

Additional group rules

  • If you add just one Sonos device to a recipe it will work as usual. If the Sonos was a member of a group, it gets broken out of that group and the old group stops working.
  • If you add two or more Sonos devices to a recipe and set them all to the same favourite, then this will also create a Sonos group that plays in sync. This will allow you to set different volume levels for the Sonos devices in the group.
  • Sonos devices that are part of a group may or may not be able to utilize some POP Advanced Mode features. This is because Sonos internally manages groups by having one device coordinate events and only that device will react to pause/play commands.
  • If your Sonos device(s) is configured as a secondary speaker in a stereo pair, it will not show up when detecting devices. Only the primary Sonos device will appear.
  • In general, creating and annihilating groups may take some time, be patient and wait until things have settled before starting the next command.
  • Using POP to control any secondary Sonos speakers independently will remove the grouping from both the Sonos and POP apps.
  • When making changes to your device(s) using the Sonos app, please refresh Sonos within the Logitech POP app to sync your changes.
