COOPER 1200W Halogen Heater Instructions
THIS PRODUCT IS ONLY SUITABLE FOR WELL INSULATED SPACES OR OCCASIONAL
USE.
Use this appliance in a good insulated room that can be aerated and
ventilated regularly.
Do not cover the appliance or air flow.
Not recommended for use in draughty locations.

IMPORTANT NOTES for your Halogen heater
Please read this instruction manual thoroughly before starting and ensure you are familiar with the operation of your new Halogen heater
- This heater is not suitable for use on deep pile carpet and therefore must be placed on a flat surface.
- Do NOT cover the heater or any ventilation holes.
- Do NOT use to dry clothing. DO NOT use this heater in a closed cupboard or near laundry.
- Keep away from children and pets.
- Do NOT use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool.
- Do not use in areas where petrol, paint or flammable liquids are used or stored.
Assembly:
Assemble the main heater body and the base plate together in the following sequence: Remove the butterfly nuts from the lower part of the main heater body. Insert the power cord through the slot placed in the middle part of the basement and then assemble the main heater body to the base plate. Secure the main heater body to the base plate by means of the two butterfly nuts previously removed. Insert the power cord through the slot and then fix it with the clamp.
Place the heater on a flat level surface.
Once the heater has been properly attached to the base plug and the heater
plugged into a suitable power supply, switch on the first “POWER” switch. This
will operate the first heat setting (400W) the second switch will operate the
800W setting bringing two of the halogen elements on and the third will
operate the final power (1200W) setting.
The oscillation mode which rotates the heater through an angle of approximately 75 degrees. Pressing each switch again will switch each element off. The first power switch is the master control switch and needs to be on to control the other elements and oscillation.
Safety Device:
This appliance is provided with safety devices that disconnect the appliance
when the radiator is tilted or when it is tipped by means of a switch situated
in the lower part of the radiator. Replacing the bulbs:
Warning! Before you begin replacing the bulbs make sure the heater is
unplugged from the mains socket and the unit (including the bulbs) has fully
cooled.
Please note that whilst the bulbs in this heater are replaceable we recommend
that this is done by a professional electrician.
Replacement bulbs are available to order under item code 11156.
How to take out the tubes:
1. Take out the screws on both sides of the unit.
2. Use pliers to clamp the internal lock of latch.
3. Disconnect the wires from the tube terminal on both sides.
4. Open the tube holders on both sides.
5. Remove the tubes.
How to install the tubes:
1. Insert the new tubes
2. Close the tube holder on both sides.
1. Reconnect the wires to the tube terminals on both sides.
2. Finish by closing the sides, fixing the panels with the screws.
WARNING:
- This heater is not equipped with a device to control the room temperature. Do not use this heater in small rooms when they are occupied by persons not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided.
- The heater must not be used if the glass bulbs are damaged.
- Some parts of this product can become very hot and cause burns. Particular attention has to be given where children and vulnerable people are present.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE:
- Before cleaning always remove the plug from the electrical socket.
- In order to avoid any hazard, only clean the appliance with a lightly dampened rag.
- After use (and before cleaning) always unplug the appliance and wait until the item is cool.
- The appliance needs only external regular cleaning.
- Never use abrasive powders or solvents. Only use a moistened cloth.
- NEVER IMMERSE THE HEATER TO CLEAN IT.

PLUG WIRING (UK & IRELAND)
This appliance is fitted with a BS 1363 13-amp plug. If you have to replace the fuse, only those that are ASTA or BSI approved to BS1362 and with a rated current of 13-amps should be used. If there is a fuse cover fitted, this cover must be re-fitted after changing the fuse. If the fuse cover is lost or damaged the plug must not be used. Spare fuse holders and fuses are available from electrical outlets. If the socket outlets in your home or office are not suitable for the plug of this product, the plug must be removed and disposed of safely as insertion of the plug into a socket is likely to cause electric hazard. A replacement plug should be wired according to the following instructions:
The cable
A mains electricity cable contains three inner wires. Each has a core of
copper and an outer layer of flexible plastic. This product is earthed; the
wires in the cord set are color coded in the following way:
BLUE NEUTRAL
BROWN LIVE
GREEN & YELLOW EARTH
