Lamp Operation

Charge the battery completely before the first use.

Before using this headlamp, you must:
– Read and understand all Instructions for Use.
– Become acquainted with its capabilities and usage restrictions.
– Understand and accept the risks involved.
Failure to heed any of these warnings may result in severe injury or death.

Lamp operation

Your lamp has:
– Three white lighting modes: (1) Proximity, (2) Movement, (3) Distance vision.
– Red lighting in continuous or strobe mode. To select the different lighting modes, use the button as indicated in the diagrams.
The button works with

  1. One-click.
  2. A long hold.

Note:
– The energy gauge lights for 4 seconds when your lamp is switched on or off.
– If more than 3 seconds pass without the button being pressed, one-click will turn off the lamp.
– If the lamp is turned off in color mode, it re-lights in the selected color.
– When the lamp enters reserve lighting, it blinks three times, then flashes red three times every 30 seconds afterward.
– To deactivate the LOCK position, choose between a long press and four successive clicks.
Charging the rechargeable battery
The lamp has an integrated Petzl Li-Ion rechargeable battery. Capacity: 680 mAh.
Charge it completely before first use.
In general, Li-Ion rechargeable batteries lose 10 % of their capacity each year. After 300 charge/discharge cycles, they still have about 70 % of their initial capacity.
Warning
Charge only with a USB cable. The charger’s output voltage must not exceed 5 V. Use only a Class II electrical, CE/UL approved charger (double insulation against hazardous voltages). Do not leave the battery unattended while charging. If the lamp has been exposed to water, it is important to dry the USB port completely before inserting the cable. Charging time
Charging time is approximately 4 hours with the USB charger or a computer.
Warning: if several USB devices are connected to your computer, the charging time can increase (up to 24 hours). While charging, the charge indicator lights steady red, then steady green when charging is complete.
The integrated rechargeable battery is non-replaceable and non- accessible.
Do not attempt to open the lamp.

Lamp precautions

The lamp is not recommended for children.
Warning: a headband can pose a strangulation risk.
Eye safety
The lamp is classified in risk group 1 according to the IEC 62471 standard.
– Do not look directly at the lamp when lit.
– Avoid aiming the lamp’s beam into another person’s eyes.
– Risk of retinal damage from the emission of blue light, particularly in children.
Electromagnetic compatibility
Meets the requirements of the European Directive on electromagnetic compatibility. Warning: an avalanche beacon in receive (find) mode can experience interference when in proximity to your headlamp. In case of interference (indicated by static noise from the beacon), move the beacon away from the headlamp.
ERP directive
Complies with energy-related products directive (ErP) 2009/125/EC.
– Instant full light
– Color temperature: 6000-7000 K
– Nominal beam angle: 36°
– Number of switching cycles before premature failure: 13,000 minimum.
General info on Petzl lamps and batteries
A. Rechargeable battery precautions
WARNING – DANGER: risk of explosion and burns.
Warning: incorrect use can damage the rechargeable battery.
– Do not expose the lamp to fire.
– Do not expose the battery to high temperatures. Follow the recommended usage and storage temperatures.
– Do not destroy the lamp; it can explode or release toxic materials.
– If your rechargeable battery is damaged, do not dismantle it or change its structure. Dispose of your rechargeable battery in accordance with current local regulations.
– If the battery leaks electrolyte, avoid any contact with this caustic and dangerous liquid; see a doctor if any contact occurs. Change out the battery and dispose of the defective battery in accordance with current local regulations.
B. Cleaning, drying
In case of use in a wet environment or contact with seawater, rinse the lamp in fresh water and dry it.
C. Storage, transport
For long-term storage, charge the headlamp (repeat every six months). Avoid allowing your lamp to discharge completely. The ideal storage temperature is between 20 and 25° C. After 12 months in these conditions without use, the lamp will be discharged. Store the lamp in a dry place. For carrying your lamp when not in use, we recommend that you lock it in the off position.
D. Protecting the environment
Dispose of your lamp only in accordance with current local regulations.
E. Modifications/repairs
Prohibited outside of Petzl facilities, except replacement parts.
F. Questions/contact
The Petzl guarantee
This lamp is guaranteed for 3 years against any defects in materials or manufacture. Exclusions from the guarantee: more than 300 charge/ discharge cycles, normal wear, and tear, oxidation, modifications or alterations, incorrect storage, poor maintenance, damage due to accidents, negligence, or to improper or incorrect usage.

Petzl is not responsible for the consequences, direct, indirect, or accidental, or any other type of damage befalling or resulting from the use of its products.
