Operating instruction

  3. Safety Notes

    •  This device is intended for private, non-commercial use only.

    •  Protect the device from dirt, moistureand overheating, and only use it in dry locations.

    •  Do not drop the device and do not expose it to any major shocks.

    •  Do not operate the device outside of its operating limits as defined in the technical specifications.

    •  Do not open the device or continue to operate it if it becomes damaged.

    •  Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children due to the risk of suffocation.

    •  Dispose of packaging material immediately according to locally applicable regulations.

    •  Do not modify the device in any way.Doing so voids the warranty

    •  Do not use the product in the immediate vicinity of heaters or other heat sources or in direct sunlight.

    •  Do not use the product in areas wherethe use of electronic devices is not permitted.

    •  Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself.Leave any and all service work to qualified experts.

    •  Keep this product, as all electrical products, out of the reach of children!

    •  Use the item only in moderate climatic conditions.
      Warning –Batteries

    •  When inserting batteries, note the correct polarity (+ and -markings) and insert the batteries accordingly.Failuretodosocould result in the batteries leaking or exploding.

    •  Only use batteries (or rechargeable batteries) that match the specified type.

    •  Beforeyou insert the batteries, clean the battery contacts and the polar contacts.

    •  Do not allow children to change batteries without supervision.

    •  Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of adifferent type or make.

    •  Remove the batteries from products that arenot being used for an extended period (unless these arebeing kept ready for an emergency).

    •  Do not short-circuit batteries.

    •  Do not charge batteries.

    •  Do not throw batteries in a fire.

    •  Keep batteries out of the reach of children.

    •  Never open, damage or swallow batteries or allow them to enter the environment. They can contain toxic, environmentally harmful heavy metals.

    •  Immediately remove and dispose of dead batteries from the product.  Avoid storing, charging or using the device in extreme temperatures and extremely low atmospheric pressure(for example, at high altitudes).
      Warning –Button cells

    • Do not ingest battery,risk of burns due to dangerous substances.

    • This product contains button cells. If swallowed, the button cell can cause severeinternal burns within just two hours and lead to death.

    • Keep new and used batteries out of the reach of children.

    • If the battery compartment does not close securely,stop using the product and keep it out of the reach of children.

    • If you think that batteries wereswallowed or are in apart of the body,seek medical assistance immediately.

  4. Controls and Displays

    •  ON/TARE button: The device switches on after this button has been quickly pressed once. Press and hold the button to shut the device off.This button is also used to control the tarefunction.

    •  UNIT button: Setting the unit of measurement: Grams (g), ounces (oz), millilitres (ml) or pounds (lb)
      Note

    • The millilitredisplay is based on the specific weight of water or milk.

  5. Getting Started 5.1 Insert the batteries:

    •  Use aPCS CR2032 coin cell battery.
    •  To change the battery,open the battery cover on the back of the device, insert aCR2032 battery with the correct polarity into the battery compartment.
    •  Close the battery compartment fully
  6. Operation

    •  Place the scales on aclean, level table.

    •  Make surethat the scales arestable and do not tilt.
      Weighing:

    •  Switch the scales on using the ON/TARE button. “0 g” appears on the display after afew seconds.

    •  Once “0 g” is displayed, lay the object to be weighed on the scales. The weight is then shown on the display.

    •  After the object has been placed on the scales, you can set the scales to zero(tare) using the ON/TARE button. This allows you to subtract the weight of acontainer,for example, if you want to weigh ingredients. Once you have weighed one ingredient, additional ingredients can be weighed by setting the scale again to zero.

    •  As soon as you are finished weighing, remove the container from the scales. The display will now show how heavy the object was beforethe last tarewith anegative sign (the minus sign appears on the left).

    •  Once the display remains stable, the scales will automatically switch off after 60 seconds. You can also switch off the scales manually by holding down the ON/TARE button.
      Error messages

    •  When the error message “EEEE” is shown, the scale is overloaded.

    •  When the error message “LO” is shown, the battery is empty.Replace the empty battery as soon as possible.
      Note

    • When the weight displayed by the scales seems to be incorrect, check that the contact between battery and the contacts is in proper working order.Ifyou haven’t used the scales in along time, change the battery and try again

  7. Care and Maintenance

    •  Only clean this product with aslightly damp, lint-free cloth and do not use aggressive cleaning agents. Make surethat water does not get into the scales.
    •  The surface of the scales is made of high-quality safety glass, which can be easily removed for cleaning
