HP Tuners. How to read the ECM/TCM.
Note: this is general instructions, and the controller type in these
instructions may NOT match yours.
YOU WILL NEED INTERNET ACCESS FOR THE ENTIRE PROCESS.
YOU MUST COMPLETE THE TUNING PROCESS BEFORE PERFORMING ANY MODIFICATIONS TO
YOUR VEHICLE
BEFORE REMOVING YOUR FACTORY ECM**
- Download AND install the latest VCM Suite Beta available at www.hptuners.com/downloads
READING with pruners
- Plug your MPVI2 into your laptop, open VCM Editor, and then plug your MPVI2 into your vehicle’s OBD2 port.
- Turn the Key to the run position
- Select the read option on the top navigation bar of VCM Editor
- Click “Gather Info”
- Click Read
6. If you have a modified ECM and modified TCM ensure that the option for read entire is present for each module. If you only have a modified ECM please be sure to select “Do Not Read” in the T87A Section. (the elm /tam will differ depending on vehicle)
- Click Read
- Save the Read file to your computer in a location that you can easily access.
- You now need to email that file back to us.
