Controls and Displays

Safety Notes

  •  This device is intended for private, non-commercial use only.

Warning –Batteries

  • When inserting batteries, note the correct polarity (+ and – markings) and insert the batteries accordingly. Failure to do so could result in the batteries leaking or exploding.
  • Only use batteries (or rechargeable batteries) that match the specified type.
  • Before you insert the batteries, clean the battery contacts and the polar contacts.
  • Do not allow children to change batteries without supervision.
  • Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of a different type or make.
  • Remove the batteries from products that are not being used for an extended period (unless these are being kept ready for an emergency).
  • Do not short-circuit batteries.
  • Do not charge batteries.
  • Do not throw batteries in a fire.
  • Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
  •  Never open, damage or swallow batteries or allow them to enter the environment. They can contain toxic, environmentally harmful heavy metals.
  • Immediately remove and dispose of dead batteries from the product.
  • Avoid storing, charging or using the device in extreme temperatures and extremely low atmospheric pressure (for example, at high altitudes).

Warning –Button cells

  •  Do not ingest battery,risk of burns due to dangerous substances.
  •  This product contains button cells. If swallowed, the button cell can cause severeinternal burns within just two hours and lead to death.
  •  Keep new and used batteries out of the reach of children.
  •  If the battery compartment does not close securely,stop using the product and keep it out of the reach of children.
  •  If you think that batteries wereswallowed or areinapart of the body,seek medical assistance immediately.

Getting Started

Insert the batteries:
Open the battery compartment on the back and insert three batteries (AAA/Micro). Make surethat the polarity (+/-) is correct. Close the battery compartment fully.

Units of measurement
The following units of measurement can be selected: “g” (gram), “ml” (milk volume), “ml” (water volume), “lb:oz” (ounces), “fl:oz” (troy ounces). Press the Unit button to select one of the units of measurement in the given order: g-ml (water) –ml (milk). On the UK/US devices, you have to hold the UNIT button for approx. 3 seconds until “lb:oz” appears on the display.Press the UNIT button again to select between “lb:oz – fl:oz (water) – fl:oz (milk).

Weighing

  •  Place the scales on aclean, level table. Make surethat the scales arestable and do not tilt.
  •  Switch on the scales by pressing the ON/TARE button. After switching on the scales, all symbols appear on the display.Wait until “0 ”appears on the display.You can then placethe item to be weighed onto the scales and read the weight value.

Using the tare function (TARE)
Place the empty container onto the scales; the weight is shown on the display.Set the scales to zero(tare) by pressing the ON/TARE button. Now place the new item to be weighed (in the container) onto the scales. Only the net weight of the item (its weight without the weight of the container) is shown. Once the display stops changing, the scales automatically switch off after approximately 120 seconds. Youcan manually switch off the scales by pressing and holding down the ON/TARE button for approx. 3seconds

Error messages

  • When the error message ‘Err’ is shown, the scale is overloaded.
  •  When the error message ‘LO’ is shown, the battery is empty. Replace the battery as soon as possible.

Care and Maintenance

  •  Only clean this product with aslightly damp, lint-free cloth and do not use aggressive cleaning agents. Make surethat water does not get into the scales.
  •  The weighing surface is made of stainless steel.
