INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
A guide for qualified electricians Model:
HDA-1800
1800W High Performance Automatic Hand Dryer
These instructions are provided as a guideline to assist you.
PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE INSTALLATION
AND RETAIN FOR FUTURE REFERENCE
Pack contents:
- 1 x Hand dryer
- 1 x Fixing kit
READ THIS FIRST:
Check the pack and make sure you have all of the parts listed on the front of
this booklet. If not, contact the outlet where you bought this product.
This product must be installed by a competent person in accordance with the
current building and IEE wiring regulations.
As the buyer, installer, and/or user of this product it is your own
responsibility to ensure that this fitting is fit for the purpose for which
you have intended it. Eterna Lighting cannot accept any liability for loss,
damage or premature failure resulting from inappropriate use.
This fitting must be installed in accordance with the Building Regulations.
Switch off the mains before commencing installation and remove the appropriate
circuit fuse.
Do not use the dryer without the front cover fitted.
Disconnect the hand dryer from the electrical supply before flash or high
voltage testing.
Suitable for indoor use only.
WARNING: This product becomes hot!
This product is not intended to be used by children and persons with sensory,
physical, and/or mental impairments that would prevent them from using it
safely.
This product is suitable for installation on surfaces with normal flammability
(indicated by the “F” in a triangle) e.g. wood, plasterboard, masonry. It is
not suitable for use on highly flammable surfaces (e.g. polystyrene,
textiles).
Before making fixing hole(s), check that there are no obstructions hidden
beneath the mounting surface such as pipes or cables.
The chosen location of your new fitting should allow for the product to be
securely mounted and safely connected to the main supply.
The dryer must be positioned so that there is at least 0.8M (800mm) between
the air outlet and the surface beneath.
If the location of your new fitting requires the provision of a new electrical
supply, the supply must conform with the requirements of the Building
Regulations.
This product is designed for permanent connection to fixed wiring via a fused
spur (with a 13 Amp fuse). We recommend that the supply incorporates a switch
for ease of operation.
Make connections to the electrical supply in accordance with the following
code:
Live – Brown or Red Neutral – Blue or Black Earth – Green and Yellow
This product must be connected to Earth.
You are advised at every stage of your installation to double-check any
electrical connections you have made.
After you have completed your installation there are electrical tests that
should be carried out: these tests are specified in the Wiring Regulations
(BS7671) referred to in the Building Regulations.
INSTALLATION:

Select the location of your new dryer with consideration to the conditions opposite.

Remove the two case screws from the bottom of the dryer and remove the case.

Mark the location of the fixing holes using the back of the dryer as a template or use the template supplied.

Secure the back of the dryer to the wall using the fixings supplied. If the fixings supplied are not appropriate to your installation, please select suitable alternatives.

Make the supply connections according to the color code above.

Temporarily restore the power supply-beware parts of the motor that are life and that are accessible to touch.

Move your hands beneath the sensor to replicate hand drying movement. The dryer should operate when you move your hands beneath the sensor and stop when your hands are withdrawn.

If the dryer does not respond correctly, you can adjust the sensitivity of the sensor by turning the screw as shown opposite.

Turn off the power at the mains.

Replace the cover and refit the two screws on the underside ensuring they are tight.

Restore the power.
To adjust the sensitivity use a small flat-bladed screwdriver and turn the screw on the square-shaped blue potentiometer as shown below:

CLEANING:
Disconnect the power and clean the exterior only of this fitting with a moist
(not wet) cloth.
Do not use any chemical or abrasive cleaners.
EVENTUALLY, YOU MAY WANT TO REPLACE THIS PRODUCT:

effective 2nd January 2007). Environment Agency Registered Producer: WEE/

WHEN YOUR PRODUCT COMES TO THE END OF ITS LIFE OR YOU CHOOSE TO REPLACE IT,
PLEASE RECYCLE IT WHERE FACILITIES EXIST – DO NOT DISPOSE OF IT WITH HOUSEHOLD
WASTE.
