ASSEMBLY
FIg. 1
-
Assembling the barrel: Fit the rods (12) in the metal rings (10). Make sure that all the rods are fitted with the bevel ends in the same direction and the straight ends in the other direction.
FIg. 2 -
Fit the wooden press plate (5) and the metal press plate (4) together with the screws (11).
FIg. 3 -
The threaded rods consist of two parts, which must be fitted together first. Fit the threaded rod (8) together and fit it on the base (13).
FIg. 4 -
Anchor the juicer base to a level, stable surface with suitable screws (sold separately) through the holes in feet. The straight edge should rest on the base.
FIg. 5 -
Put the juice bag (9) with the shredded fruit in the barrel, so that it hangs out over the edge. Press down the fruit by hand. Harder fruit such as apples and pears should be cut into small pieces or ideally be run in a fruit grinder or crusher before it is put in the bag.
FIg. 6 -
Place the semicircular wooden plates (7) over the fruit, centred in relation to the barrel. Place the wooden blocks (6) on top (if there is space) and then place the assembled press plates (4) and (5) over, lengthwise in relation to the wooden plates.
FIg. 7 -
Put the nylon washer (3) over the press plates as shown in the diagram. Screw on the press nut (2), insert the handle in the press nut, and turn the handle (1) clockwise to feed down the press plates and press the fruit in the barrel.
FIg. 8 -
If there is space the second pair of supplied wooden blocks can be put in, so that the wooden plates come as close as possible to the base of the juicer. If the handle reaches the barrel and the press plates still need to be lowered, screw up the press nut and fill with more fruit,
or place the wooden blocks between the wooden plates and the press plates. Wooden blocks are sold separately or can be made from pieces of wood sawn to a suitable size. Place a container under the spout in the base (13) to collect the juice.
NOTE:
If necessary, shred the fruit, especially grapes and apples, before pressing. The fruit can be shredded with a fruit grinder, crusher or food processor.
DISMANTLING
- Dismantle the juicer by removing the handle from the press nut.
- Unscrew the press nut from the threaded rod.
- Remove all the wooden blocks and press plates.
- The barrel can now be lifted off the base.
- Unscrew the feet on the base from the surface.
USE
Carefully clean the juicer before use and remove any traces of old oil to avoid contaminating the juice.
MAINTENANCE
CLEANING
- Clean all the parts of the juicer with a mild detergent, rinse with clean water and wipe dry.
- If there is any mould or other impurities, wash well, rinse and dry, and apply a thin layer of cooking oil on the metal parts.
STORAGE
If the juicer is not going to be used for some time, apply a thin layer of Vaseline or cooking oil on all the metal parts and store it in a clean and dry place.
