SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • Install the product in accordance with these instructions. Incorrect installation can result in a risk of personal injury and/or material damage.
  • Wear safety gloves and approved safety glasses.
  • Keep the installation area clean and well lit.
  • Keep onlookers at a safe distance from the work area during the installation.
  • Do not install the product if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
  • Do not plug in the plug before the product is fully installed.
  • If the product is installed where it is difficult to get at it it should be connected to a power point with a switch so that the power supply can be immediately switched off in the event of a fault.
  • Install out of the reach of children.
  • Check before installing that there are no concealed electrical cables that can be hit by the drill or screws.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

  • This is not a toy. Do not allow children to play with, or near the product.
  • Wear safety gloves and approved safety glasses.
  • Only use the product as it is intended to be used.
  • Always check the product before using it. Do not use the product if any parts are loose or damaged, or if the insulation is damaged.
  • Check that the type plate and all the warning signs are clean and legible. These markings contain important safety information. Contact the retailer if the type plate or stickers are missing, damaged or illegible.
  • The plug on the product must match the power point. Never modify the plug in any way. Never use an adapter with earthed power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets reduce the risk of electric shock.
  • Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces such as pipes, radiators, cookers and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed.
  • To pull the cord out of the reel, grip the actual cord, not the appliance connected to the cord.
  • Do not expose the product to rain or moisture. There is a greater risk of electric shock if water gets into the product. If it is absolutely necessary to use power tools in damp conditions, use a mains connection protected by a residual current device (RDC). Using an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
  • Consult an authorised electrician if you are unsure whether the power point is properly earthed. Allow an authorised electrician to install an earthed power point if the plug does not fit in the power point.
  • The product must only be connected to a correctly earthed power point. If a fault occurs or the product is broken the current is led to earth, which reduces the risks of electric shock.
  • Never use an extension cord to connect the product to a power point.
  • Never attempt to open the spring mechanism on the product, the spring can be ejected with great force and cause personal injury and/or material damage.
  • Avoid overloading by never connecting several reels with multiple-conductor cables to each other.
  • Unplug the plugs before reeling in or reeling out.
  • Pull out the plug from the power point if the overcurrent protection has tripped. Press the red button to reset the overcurrent protection.
  • Only intended for indoor use.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

New installations and extensions to existing systems should always be carried out by an authorised electrician. If you have the necessary experience and knowledge (otherwise contact an electrician), you can replace power switches and wall sockets, fit plugs, extension cords and light sockets. Incorrect installation can result in fatal injury and the risk of fire.

INSTALLATION

WARNING!
Check before installing that there are no concealed electrical cables that can be hit by the drill or screws.

  1. Pull out the plug before installation.
  2. Install the product within 0.6 metres of an earthed power point with a switch. Install the product on a wall post or other suitable surface that can withstand the weight of the product.
  3. Use the mount as a template and mark out the drill holes.
  4. Drill holes with a suitable drill and screw in screws with a minimum diameter of 10 mm and length of 25 mm (sold separately). Do not screw in the screws all the way. Thin screws can result in the product coming loose and dropping down, which can cause personal injury and/or material damage.
  5. Hang the product on the screws with the screws in the thin part of the screw holes. Put a screw with a diameter of 10 mm and 25 mm long in the round hole in the middle, and screw tight to lock the product in place. Pull on the product outwards and to the sides to check that it is firmly in place.
  6. Plug the plug into the power point.

USE

  1. Pull out the power cord to the required length. The product has a locking function to prevent the cord reeling in.
  2. To reel in the cord, pull it out a little and then allow it to reel in automatically. Hold onto the cord as it reels in.
