SPECIFIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

WARNING!

  • DO NOT let comfort or familiarity with product (gained from repeated use) replace strict adherence to the tool safety rules. If you use this tool unsafely or incorrectly, you can suffer serious personal injury.
  • Do not insert fingers or any other body part through the grill guard while the fan is in operation or plugged into a power source. Rotating blade may amputate finger or cause a serious injury.
  • Do not block air intakes or exhaust, or insert objects into these openings. Doing so may cause an electric shock or fire. Position the fan in a location that allows for adequate air flow.
  1. Use the correct tool for the job. This tool was designed for a specific function. Do not modify or alter this tool or use it for an unintended purpose.
  2. Do not use the tool if any parts are damage broken or misplaced. Repair or replace the parts.
  3. Do not use this fan with a solid-state speed control device. Use of such a device may cause the fan to suffer a mechanical failure, resulting in an electric shock or fire.
  4. Place the fan on a stable even surface capable of supporting its weight.
  5. Ensure the front and rear guards are securely locked in position before operation.
  6. Beware of burns if motor is hot.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY

WARNING!

  • Do not touch or handle a live device with any part of your body that is wet or damp. Wet skin reduces resistance to electrical current, increasing the danger of a serious or fatal shock.
  • To reduce risk of electric shock, be certain that the plug is connected to a properly grounded receptacle.
  1. Disconnect the device from the power supply before making any adjustments, changing accessories, cleaning, servicing or when storing. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the device accidentally.
  2. Protect yourself against electric shocks when working on electrical equipment. Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces. There is an increased chance of electrical shock if your body is grounded.
  3. Do not expose the device to rain, snow, frost or any other damp or wet conditions. Water entering a device will increase the risk of electric shock.
  4. Do not disconnect the power cord in place of using the power switch. This will prevent an accidental start-up when the power cord is plugged into the power supply.
  5. Do not alter any parts of the device or accessories. All parts and accessories are designed with built-in safety features that may be compromised if altered.
  6. Make certain the power source conforms to requirements of your equipment (see Specifications).
  7. This device is only for use on 120 V (single phase) and is equipped with a three-prong grounded power supply cord and plug. Check with a qualified electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. If the device should electronically malfunction or break down, grounding provides a low resistance path to carry electricity away from the user.
    • Never remove the grounding prong or modify the plug in any way, as this will render the device unsafe.
    • Do not use any adapter plugs.

WARNING! All wiring should be performed by a qualified electrician.

POWER CORD

  1. Insert the power cord plug directly to the power supply whenever possible. Use extension cords or surge protectors only when the device’s power cord cannot reach a power supply from the work area.
    • If an extension cord must be used, the cord must be a minimum 14 AWG and rated not less than 1,875 W.
  2. Do not operate this device if the power cord is frayed, damaged or poorly spliced, as an electric shock may occur, resulting in personal injury or property damage.
    • Inspect the device’s power cord for cracks, fraying or other faults in the insulation or plug before each use.
    • Discontinue use if a power cord feels more than comfortably warm while operating the device.
  3. Keep all connections dry and off the ground to reduce the risk of electric shock. Do not touch the plug with wet hands.
  4. Prevent damage to the power cord by observing the following:
    • Do not pull on the cord to disconnect the plug from an outlet.
    • Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
    • Never use the cord to carry the device.

ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION

NOTICE! It is the user’s responsibility to be sure that the location and the wall surface can handle the weight of this fan. Brick walls must be 12 in. thick with cement grouting and wood studs or joists dimensions must be 4 x 5 in.

  1. Choose a location that can support the weight of the fan and that is near a power outlet.

  2. Use the wall bracket as a template for marking the intended drill holes on the mounting surface.

  3. Drill holes through the mounting surface.

  4. Drill completely through steel with a 9/32 in. drill bit at the pre-marked locations. Attach the wall bracket (G) to the mounting surface with 1/4 in.-20 hex bolts, 1/4 in. flat washers, 1/4 in. lock washers and 1/4 in. hex nuts.

  5. Mount the wall bracket (G) to a masonry surface with 1/4 in. expansion type bolts or 1/4 in. masonry lag screws with a shield that are designed to handle the weight of this fan. Drill holes at pre-marked locations using an appropriately sized drill bit as recommended for the fastener.

  6. Push the angle support bracket (I) into the wall bracket until secure.

  7. Align the motor’s (F) bottom bracket with the angle support bracket’s
    (I) bolt hole. Insert the position screw (J) through both holes and secure with a washer and nut (H).

  8. Remove all four screws from the motor’s front housing and set aside.

  9. Separate the front and rear grill by removing the security screw (A) and opening the clips.

  10. Position the rear grill so the bolt holes in the center ring align with the motor’s bolt holes. Make sure the security screw bolt hole is positioned at the lowest point.

  11. Reinsert the four screws and tighten until the rear grill is secure.

  12. Loosen the collar screw (D) on the fan blades. Slide it onto the motor shaft until it is seated. Tighten the collar screw to secure the blades.

  13. Place the front grill onto the rear grill and align the bolt holes. Use the clips to hold the grills together, then insert the screw and tighten.

  14. The fan is ready for use.

OPERATION

  1. Plug the fan directly into a properly grounded wall outlet.
  2. Adjust the airflow upward or downward by loosening the nut (H) and tilting the fan, then tightening the nut.
  3. The fan has two speeds and an OFF setting. Each pull of the right string increases the speed setting one step from OFF, Low, Off, High and back to OFF.
  4. The left string will turn the oscillation ON or OFF with each pull.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

  1. Maintain the tool with care. A tool in good condition is efficient, easier to control and will have fewer problems.
  2. Inspect the tool components periodically. Repair or replace damaged or worn components. Only use identical replacement parts when servicing.
  3. Maintain the tool’s labels and name plates. These carry important information. If unreadable or missing, contact Princess Auto Ltd. for replacements.
  4. Do not unseal the motor. It does not require any interior maintenance or cleaning. The Internal motor bearings are permanently lubricated at the factory and do not require any additional lubrication.
