    • Do not wear gloves when operating a tool that can snag the material and pull the hand into the tool.
  4. Wear protective clothing designed for the work environment and tool.
  5. Non-skid footwear is recommended to maintain footing and balance in the work environment.
  6. Wear steel toe footwear or steel toe caps to prevent a foot injury from falling objects.

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS
Control the tool, personal movement and the work environment to avoid personal injury or damage to tool.

  1. Do not operate any tool when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medications.
  2. Avoid wearing clothes or jewelry that can become entangled with the moving parts of a tool. Keep long hair covered or bound.

  2. Do not use the tool if any parts are damage broken or misplaced. Repair or replace the parts.
  3. Never attempt to bend a tube that exceeds the max. bending thickness (see Pipe/Tube Thickness Chart).
  4. The outside pipe diameter must fit the groove in all three rollers. A mismatch may damage the rollers or pipe when under pressure.
  5. Make sure a pipe’s weld seam is not at the bending point. This can damage the pipe and/or the rollers.

UNPACKING

WARNING! Do not operate the tool if any part is missing. Replace the missing part before operating. Failure to do so could result in a malfunction and personal injury.
Remove the parts and accessories from the packaging and inspect for damage. Make sure that all items in the contents are included.

OPERATION

Numbered references in parenthesis (#1) refer to the included Parts List.
The machine is preassembled except the roller mould sets. Each set has two drive rollers and one center roller.
PIPE BENDER SET-UP

  1. Place the pipe bender on a flat surface that can support the tool.
  2. Select the roller set based on the steel tube’s diameter and the thickness (see Pipe/Tube Thickness Chart).
  3. Using a mismatched roller size for the pipe can result in a misshapen bend.
  4. Mount one of the drive rollers (#27). Ensure the notch in the roller’s opening aligns with the key on the driving shaft (#23). Push to seat the roller. Screw the round nut (#26) onto the driving shaft to secure the roller. Repeat with the second drive roller.
  5. Mount the last roller onto the center spindle and secure with the remaining round nut.

OPERATING THE PIPE BENDER
  1. Plug the machine into the power outlet.
  2. Turn the adjustable screw (#18) clockwise to raise the center roller out of the way.
  3. Lubricate all three rollers with a little oil where they will touch the pipe.
  4. Place the pipe or tube into the grooves of the drive rollers. The pipe’s seam should not align with the bend direction.
  5. Some dies have multiple-diameter rollers. Ensure you have the pipe aligned with the matching diameter on each roller.
  6. Turn the adjustable screw counterclockwise to lower the center roller onto the pipe. Ensure it fits into the groove. You may need to adjust the nut and roller to ensure the fit. Do not tighten fully yet.
  7. Pull the pipe through the rollers to the spot where you want the bend to begin.
  8. Turn the adjustable screw clockwise to apply pressure to the pipe.
  9. Turn the power switch to Forward or Reverse based on the direction you wish to turn the drive rollers.
    • Forward moves the rollers clockwise and the pipe will move from left-to-right.
    • Reverse moves the rollers counterclockwise and the pipe will move from right-to-left.
    • Pause stops the drive rollers. Select this and wait several seconds before changing roller direction.
  10. Turn the adjustable screw clockwise to increase the depth of the bend. This can be done while pause or during the bend.
  11. Increase the bend depth in small increments and continue to pass the pipe back and forth through the rollers. Apply slow, gradual pressure to the pipe until it has reached the correct bend angle.
  12. Select Pause, then release the pipe by unscrewing the adjustable screw.
  13. Unplug the machine after finishing the work.
