ADDITIONAL MATERIALS
Circular knitting needle size 7 (4.5 mm), 29 in. (73.5 cm) long

GAUGE
15 sts + 30 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS).
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

STITCH EXPLANATIONS
MB (Make Bobble)

  1. Yarn over (yo)
  2. Knit into next st but do not remove st from needle.
  3. Yarn over (yo)
  4. Knit into same st and do not remove st from needle.
  5. Yarn over (yo).
  6. Knit into same st again and remove st from needle (6 sts increased).
  7. Turn, sl 1 as if to purl, p5.
  8. Turn, sl 1 as if to knit, k5.
  9. Turn, (p2tog) 3 times.
  10. Turn, sl 1 as if to knit, k2tog, pass slipped stitch over k2tog and off needle.

yo (yarn over)
An increase that also creates a small decorative hole (eyelet) in the fabric, worked as follows:

  1. Bring yarn to front, between the needles.
  2. Take yarn to back, over the right needle. This creates the new st. You are now ready to proceed with the next st as instructed.

Large Bobble Heart Pattern (worked over 37 sts)
Note:
Bobbles are worked every 4th row only. Work all other rows in St st (k on RS, p on WS).
Row 1 (RS) : K18, MB, k18.
Row 5: K16, MB, k3, Mb, k16.
Row 9: K13, MB, k9, MB, k13.
Row 13: K11, MB, k13, MB, K11.
Row 17: K8, MB, k19, MB, k8.
Row 21: K6, MB, k23, MB, k6.
Rows 25, 29, and 33: K3, MB, k29, MB, k3.
Row 37: K6, MB, (k11, MB) twice, k6.
Row 41: K8, MB, k7, MB, k3, MB, k6, MB, k8.
Row 45: K11, MB, k2, MB, k7, MB, k2, MB, k11.
Rows 47 and 48: Work in St st for 2 rows.

Small Bobble Heart Pattern (worked over 29 sts)

Note: Bobbles are worked every 4th row only. Work all other rows in St st.
Row 1 (RS) : K14, MB, k14.
Row 5: K12, MB, k3, MB, k12.
Row 9: K9, (MB, k9) twice.
Row 13: K6, MB, k15, MB, k6.
Rows 17 and 21: K4, MB, k19, MB, k4.
Row 25: K6, MB, (k7, MB) twice, k6.
Row 29: K9, MB, k1, MB, k5, MB, k1, MB, k9.
Rows 31 and 32: Work in St st for 2 rows.

NOTES

  1. Blanket is worked back and forth in rows of St st with eyelet edging and a Bobble Heart pattern in 2 corners.
  2.  Eyelets (yo, k2tog) are worked along side edges every 8 rows.
  3. A circular needle is used to accommodate the number of stitches. Work back and forth in rows on the circular needle just as if working with straight needles.
  4. When you see `work in patterns as established’ in the instructions, this means to continue in the current patterns, lining up sts as in previous rows.

BLANKET

Cast on 109 sts loosely.
Work in Garter st (k every st on every row) for 3 rows.
Keeping first and last 3 sts in Garter st, beg with a WS row work in St st (k on RS, p on WS) for 3 rows.
Eyelet Row (RS): K6, yo, k2tog, k3; rep from to last 3 sts, k3. Keeping first and last 3 sts in Garter st, work in St st (k on RS, p on WS) for 7 rows.

Large Bobble Heart Pattern

Row 1 (RS): K6, yo, k2tog, place marker (pm) for Edging pattern, work Row 1 of Large Bobble Heart pattern over next 37 sts, pm, k to last 8 sts, pm, yo, k2tog, k6 for Edging pattern.
Row 2 (WS): K3, p5, slip marker (sm), purl to next marker, sm, work in Large Bobble Heart pattern as established to next marker, sm, p5, k3.
Row 3: K8, sm, work in Large Bobble Heart pattern as established to next marker, sm, k to next marker, sm, k8.
Rows 4-7: Rep Rows 2 and 3 twice.
Row 8: Rep Row 2.
Row 9: K6, yo, k2tog, sm, work in Large Bobble Heart pattern as established to next marker, sm, k to next marker, sm, yo, k2tog, k6.
Rep Rows 2-9 until all 48 rows of Large Bobble Heart pattern have been worked. Remove 2nd (middle) marker.
Keeping first and last 8 sts in Edging pattern as established, work in St st between markers until piece measures about 22 in. (56 cm) from beg, end with a WS row as the last row you work.

Small Bobble Heart Pattern

Row 1 (RS): K6, yo, k2tog, sm, k64, pm, work Row 1 of Small Bobble Heart pattern over next 29 sts, sm, yo, k2tog, k6.
Row 2 (WS): K3, p5, sm, work in Small Bobble Heart pattern as established to next marker, sm, purl to next marker, sm, p5, k3.
Row 3: K8, sm, k to next marker, sm, work in Small Bobble Heart pattern as established to next marker, sm, k8.
Rows 4-7: Rep Rows 2 and 3 twice.
Row 8: Rep Row 2.
Row 9: K6, yo, k2tog, sm, k to next marker, sm, work in Small Bobble Heart pattern as established to next marker, sm, yo, k2tog, k6.

Rep Rows 2-9 until all 32 rows of Small Bobble Heart pattern have been worked. Remove 2nd (middle) marker. Keeping first and last 8 sts in Edging pattern as established, work in St st between markers for 4 rows. Remove rem markers.
Next Row: Rep Eyelet Row.
Keeping first and last 3 sts in Garter st, work in St st for 3 rows.
Work in Garter st for 3 rows.
Bind off loosely.

FINISHING
Weave in ends.
