These instructions are provided as a guideline to assist you.
PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE INSTALLATION AND RETAIN FOR FUTURE REFERENCE

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Pack contents:

1 x Adjustable mounting bracket
1 x Fixing kit

READ THIS FIRST:

Check the pack and make sure you have all of the parts listed on the front of this booklet. If not, contact the outlet where you bought his product. This product must be installed by a competent person in accordance with the current building and IEE wiring regulations. As the buyer, installer and/or user of this product it is your own responsibility to ensure that this fitting is fit for the purpose for which you have intended it. Eterna Lighting cannot accept any liability for loss, damage or premature failure resulting from inappropriate use. This product is designed and constructed according to the principles of the appropriate British Standard and is intended for normal domestic service. Suitable for indoor use only. Suitable for fixing on a normally flammable surface. When choosing the location for your new fitting, ensure that the fixings will be anchored in a solid surface e.g. concrete, brick or a joist—do not fix directly onto panelling, cladding, plasterboard etc.

WARNING: This product becomes hot!
This product is not intended to be used by children and persons with sensory, physical and/or mental impairments that would prevent them from using it safely. Before making fixing hole(s), check that there are no obstructions hidden beneath the mounting surface such as pipes or cables. If the location of your new fitting requires the provision of a new electrical supply, the supply must conform with the requirements of the latest edition of the IEE wiring regulations.
WARNING – To avoid overheating, do not cover the heater.
Switch off the mains before commencing installation and remove the appropriate circuit fuse.

Make connections to the electrical supply in accordance with the following code:
Live – Brown or Red
Neutral – Blue or Black
Earth – Green and Yellow
If you are connecting to the mains using a fused spur, a 13 Amp fuse should be fitted.

This product must be connected to Earth. Ensure that the heater cannot blow hot air directly onto any flammable surface or any surface which may be damaged or discolored by heat.

INSTALLATION:

  1. Remove the three screws from the front panel and remove it. See front page.
  2. Loosen, but do not remove the retaining bolt using a spanner and remove the bracket. See Fig. 1 opposite.
  3. Make fixing holes in wall or ceiling using the wall bracket as a template and secure bracket using the fixings supplied. If the fixings supplied are not suitable for your installation, use appropriate alternative fixings. Note: the bracket must be fixed to a solid point e.g. brick, concrete, stud or joist.
  4. Hang the heater on the bracket, ensure that the bracket is located between the bolt and the serrated washer and that the bolts are at the end of the slots in the bracket.
  5. Adjust the heater to the required angle and tighten the bolts using a spanner. Take care not to over-tighten.
  6. Re-fit the front panel.
  7. Connect mains cable (fitted) to the power supply according to the wiring code above.
  8. Restore the power and switch on.

OPERATION:

The large switch is a master switch, turning this switch on and off will start and stop the fan and heaters if selected.
The degree of heat is controlled by switches I & II.

SAFETY OVERHEATING PROTECTION:

If the unit overheats, thermal switches will cut the power and will restore the power when the unit has cooled down. However, if the unit overheats severely, thermal fuses will isolate and then cut the power: these fuses will not reset and cannot be replaced by the user. The unit should be referred to a qualified, competent person for repair.

MAINTENANCE:

There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing or repair to a qualified, competent person.

HEAT SETTINGS:

Master switch only: cold fan.
Master + switch I or II: warm air (1500W).
Master + switches I & II: hot air (3000W).

QUICK GUIDE FOR MOUNTING THE SCREEN HEATER:

This heater is not equipped with a device to control the room temperature. Do not use this heater in small rooms when they are occupied by persons not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided. Children of less than 3 years should be kept away from the heater unless continuously supervised. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the appliance provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.

SOME PARTS OF THIS PRODUCT CAN BECOME VERY HOT AND CAUSE BURNS. PARTICULAR ATTENTION HAS TO BE GIVEN WHERE CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE PEOPLE ARE PRESENT.

EVENTUALLY, YOU MAY WANT TO REPLACE THIS PRODUCT:

Regulations require the recycling of Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment (European “WEEE Directive” effective August 2005—UK WEEE Regulations effective 2nd January 2007). Environment Agency Registered Producer: WEE/ GA0248QZ. WHEN YOUR PRODUCT COMES TO THE END OF ITS LIFE OR YOU CHOOSE TO REPLACE IT, PLEASE RECYCLE IT WHERE FACILITIES EXIST – DO NOT DISPOSE OF WITH HOUSEHOLD WASTE.

CLEANING:

Disconnect the power and clean the exterior only of this fitting with a soft dry cloth. Do not use any chemical or abrasive cleaners.
