Safety Instructions

Please read these instructions carefully before using the device, in particular the safety instructions.
Keep the instructions in a safe place for future reference. If you pass the device on to third parties, be sure to include these instructions for use.

Power supply

Before connecting the device to your power supply, ensure that the mains voltage specified on the type plate corresponds to that of your power supply.
Only connect the plug to the socket when the device is switched off.
Never carry, pull or twist the device by the power cord, and do not pinch the cord.
Position the power cord so that there is no risk of falling and no risk of strangulation.
Do not touch the power plug when standing in water and always handle the plug with dry hands.
When the appliance is used in a bathroom, unplug it after use since the proximity of water presents a hazard even when the appliance is switched off;
for additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA is advisable in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice.

This device may only be used by children over 8 years of age, as well as persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities or lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed regarding the safe use of the device and understand the hazards resulting from its use.
Children are not allowed to play with the device.
In the case of an allergic respiratory illness, consult your doctor before using the device.
Talk to your doctor if health complaints should occur during use. In this case, stop using the device immediately.

Operating the device

The device is not intended for commercial use.
Use the device only for its intended purpose, as directed by the user instructions. In the event of misuse, all guarantees become null and void! Do not use the device if the cable or plug is damaged, if it does not work properly if it has been dropped or dropped into water.
Do not use the unit under blankets, towels, etc.
Remove neck and face jewelry before each use.
Close your eyes and protect heat-sensitive areas during use.
Do not use it for more than 60 minutes.
Do not shake the appliance while using it. You could be scalded or burned.
Keep the device, including the power cable, away from hot surfaces.
For use, place the device on a solid, flat surface so that it cannot topple over.
Never attempt to take hold of a device that has fallen into the water. Immediately remove the plug.
Do not use the device if the water tank is empty or contains insufficient liquid.
Do not use essential oils (e.g. eucalyptus or menthol) as these can damage the device.
Keep the ventilation slots on the underside of the device free of dust and dirt.
Switch off all functions after use and remove the plug from the socket.

Maintenance and cleaning

You may only clean the device. In the event of malfunctions, do not proceed with any unauthorized repair of the device. Otherwise, this will render any warranty claims void.
Ask your dealer and have repairs done only by medicine services.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
Do not immerse the device in the water of other fluids. Should fluid enter the device, immediately remove the plug?
If the power supply cord is damaged, it may only be replaced by medicine, an authorized dealer, or qualified personnel in order to avoid hazards.
Store the device in a dry place.

Intended use
The device is used to generate warm steam, which can then be used for the cosmetic treatment of facial skin. Furthermore, the steam can be enriched with aromatic substances. Use the device for a maximum of 60 minutes per day.
Scope of delivery
First, check whether the device is complete and is not damaged. If in doubt, do not operate the device and contact your supplier or service center.
The scope of delivery includes:

The packaging is recyclable or can be recycled back into the raw materials cycle. Please dispose of unwanted packaging materials properly. If damage caused during transport is noted while unpacking, please contact your retailer immediately.

WARNING
Make sure that the packaging films do not get into the hands of children! There is a danger of suffocation!

Preparing and using the device

Place the appliance on a flat, firm, level, and waterproof surface. Never hold it in your hand during operation.
Fill the water container in the base unit with tap water. Always use the measuring cup 5 for this purpose, never fill the appliance with running water directly from the tap.
Do not use other liquids instead of water.
In areas with hard water, it is recommended to mix half of the water in the tank resp. the measuring cup with demineralized water.
Do not fill with more water than the maximum fill level mark on the measuring cup 5.
Fix the steam attachment (1 or 3) on the base unit by turning it clockwise until it audibly clicks into place.
Insert the mains plug into the socket and switch on the unit by pressing the on/off button .
Use the temperature and time buttons to set the desired temperature (from 80-95°C for aromatherapy and 100°C for steam) and the running time (from 15 to 60 minutes). The default setting is 100°C and 30 minutes. The appliance needs a short time before steam is released.
Sit in front of the appliance and hold your face (attachment 1) or nose (attachment 3) over the corresponding attachment. If the temperature seems too high, lower the temperature or keep a greater distance with your face or nose.
If the water has been used up, the appliance switches off automatically. Otherwise, it switches off after the set running time has elapsed or when you press the on/off button.

WARNING
Hot water: Never remove the steam attachment during operation and never touch or reach into the water container in the base of the appliance.

Use for aromatherapy

Basically, the operation is the same as described under „Preparing and using the device“.
Additionally, you can place a commercially available cotton pad prepared with an aromatic substance according to your wishes in the aroma attachment. Make sure that none of the flavoring agents (oil, essence, or similar) gets into the water container!
Close the aroma diffuser by putting it on the cover 2. In order to fully develop the effect of the aroma diffuser, the cover must be placed correctly and firmly on it.
The temperature should not be set above 95°C.

NOTE
When using aromatic substances, make sure they are suitable for use in the facial sauna. Observe the manufacturer’s instructions. Never use solutions that contain salt.

After use/cleaning and care

Let the appliance cool down after each use. Empty the aroma attachment and the water tank completely and dry the appliance with a soft cloth if necessary.
Clean the appliance after each use to prevent the build-up of grease and limescale residues.
Unplug the appliance from the mains before cleaning and wait until the appliance has cooled down completely.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents (e.g. alcohol, acetone, petrol or scouring agents) or strong brushes to clean the plastic parts.
Clean the appliance housing and steam attachments with a soft damp cloth and then wipe them dry.
Never clean the base of the appliance under running water as it contains electrical components.
Do not immerse the appliance in water. Do not allow water to enter the unit. Do not use the appliance again until it is completely dry.
To prevent damage to the unit, do not use sharp or pointed objects for cleaning.
Do not expose the unit to direct sunlight, protect it from dirt and moisture.
Store the unit in a safe, clean, and dry place.

Disposal
This device must not be disposed of together with household waste.
Every consumer is obliged to hand in all electrical or electronic devices, regardless of whether they contain pollutants or not, to a collection point in his or her town or at a retailer, so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. Contact your local authority or retailer regarding disposal.

Warranty and repair conditions

In case of warranty please contact your specialist shop or the service centre directly. Should you have to return the device, please state the defect and enclose a copy of the purchase receipt or invoice.
The following warranty conditions apply:

All medisana products are guaranteed for 3 years from the date of purchase. In case of a warranty claim, the purchase receipt or invoice must be provided as proof of purchase date.
Faults due to material or manufacturing defects will be rectified free of charge within the warranty period.
Warranty service does not extend the warranty period for either the equipment or for replacement components.
The following are excluded from the warranty:
a. any damage caused by improper use, e.g. not following the user instructions.
b. damage caused by repair or intervention by the purchaser or unauthorized third parties.
c. transport damage that has occurred on the way from the manufacturer to the consumer or has arisen during transit to the service point.
d. spare parts that are subject to normal wear and tear.
Liability for direct or indirect consequential damages caused by the device is also excluded if the damage to the device is recognized as a warranty claim.
