Warnings
- Do not use the product in very high or very low temperature conditions.
- Do not insert metal objects (screws or coins) inside the unit to avoid shorting the internal components.
- The player can play MP3 / WMA files. Do not try to playback photo or video files.

Installation instructions
- Insert the mounting bracket into the dashboard.
- Bend the two clips for a more secure fit.
- To remove the unit from the dashboard, insert the included keys on both sides of the case, then pull the player out.

WARNING
The installation of this player in your vehicle must be performed by qualified
personnel (car electrician) after being checked the power supply and the audio
connectors on the vehicle.
Some cars are equipped with sockets configured differently from the ISO
standard (different positioning of wires in the sockets). If your car is not
equipped with ISO connectors, the necessary modifications must be made to the
connectors before installing the player.
Time setting
- Shortly press the key CLK. The current time will appear on the screen.
- Press and hold the key CLK again.
- The time indicator will flash. Turn the volume knob in both directions until you reach the desired value.
- Shortly press the key CLK to confirm.
- The minute indicator will flash. Turn the volume knob in both directions until you reach the desired value.
- Wait a few seconds. The screen will return to the normal display mode.
Select playback source
Press the key MOD to choose between: Radio, Bluetooth or AUX-in.
FM Radio
Searching for a radio frequency
- Repeatedly press the key MOD until TUNE appears on the screen, immediately followed by the display of the current frequency.
- Press the key or to search for another frequency.
- Long press the key or to switch between MANUAL and AUTO search modes (the search stops when the radio finds a signal).
Saving a radio station
3 groups of radio stations are available (F1, F2, F3) which can be selected by
pressing the key BND/AS repeatedly, each group having 6 memories.
- First select the group (F1, F2 or F3).
- Search for your favorite radio station.
- Long press the key corresponding to the position (1 – 6) where you want to save it.
- On the screen, the group and the position where the respective radio station was saved will be displayed. E.g : F1P6
Searching for a stored radio station
- Long press the key BND/AS to search among all saved radio stations.
- The player will start scanning the memories.
- Press again the key BND/AS to stop scanning.
Bluetooth
The Bluetooth function allows you to take calls from your phone or play audio files through the car’s audio system.
- Press the key MOD repeatedly until BT appears on the screen.
- Activate Bluetooth function in your smartphone.
- Search with your phone for nearby Bluetooth devices.
- From the list of found devices, select “PNI 8550BT“ and confirm pairing.
- BT ON will appear on the player screen.
- Now the two devices, the phone and the player, are paired.
- Select from the phone the music you want to listen to on the car’s audio system.
Answer a phone call via Bluetooth
If you receive a phone call while listening to music via Bluetooth, playback of the music will be interrupted during the call. Press the key BND/AS to answer the call and the key MOD to end the call or reject the call.
AUX-in
- Press the key MOD repeatedly until AUX appears on the screen.
- Connect your phone to the player with an auxiliary cable with a 3.5mm jack.
- Select from the phone the music you want to listen to on the car’s audio system.
Troubleshooting

The player does not start
Check the ISO connection and power cords -
The on / off button does not work
Press the reset button on the player. If the fault persists, disconnect the power supply and reconnect it. -
There is no sound or just a noise
Check the ISO connection, speaker cords, or sound settings in the player. -
Very poor quality sound
Check the ISO connection or speaker cables. -
Poor radio reception
Check the radio antenna connection

Remote control via CarLive app
Go to Google Play and download the CarLive application or scan the code next to it:
- Open the PNI 8550BT player and switch to BT mode (by pressing the MOD key)
- Activate the Bluetooth function in your mobile phone. Search for Bluetooth devices nearby. Select the “PNI-8550BT” device from the list and connect to it.
- Open the application.
- From the application you can change the mode (FM, AUX or Bluetooth), you can make sound settings, you can set the time and you can adjust the volume.
