Installing your outdoor plug

Decide on a suitable location

WARNING : SHOCK HAZARD. May result in serious injury or death. This device must be plugged into a GFCI protected circuit. The end of the cord must be at least 3 in (76.2 mm) above the ground.

Mount the outdoor plug (optional)

Using the mounting holes provided at the ends of the outdoor plug, and using 2 screws or other fasteners appropriate for your structure, mount the outdoor plug to the structure. Use one mounting hole at the top and one mounting hole at the bottom of the outdoor plug. Ensure the outdoor plug mounting location is close enough to the outlet so the plug reaches the outlet and the end of the cord is at least 3 in (76.2 mm) above the ground.LUTRON Caséta Wireless

Add a wireless control

Connect the outdoor plug to either your Caséta system or to a Pico remote control (if desired). See the reverse side of this sheet for details on how to do this.

Plug in the load

The outdoor plug can control a variety of loads: lights, lighting transformers, and small pumps and motors. Simply plug your load into the outdoor plug. Troubleshooting

Using your Caséta Wireless outdoor plug

With a smartphone or tablet (Bridge required, sold separately) The Caséta Wireless outdoor plug can be controlled from a smartphone when used with the Lutron Smart Bridge. If you are using the outdoor plug with the Lutron Smart Bridge follow the instructions below.

  2. Launch the Lutron app
  * The Lutron app will walk you through setting up your devices
3.  **Use the Lutron app to complete ALL remaining steps**
  * ADD DEVICE
    *           * Pico remotes
      * Dimmers
      * Shades



4.  **Schedule your lights**
5.  **Connect while away**

  Without a smartphone or tablet

  • (Bridge not required)
  • Pairing the outdoor plug and Pico remote control
  • (sold separately)

Press and hold “On / Off” button on outdoor plug

Hold for 6 seconds until the button starts blinking.

Press and hold “off” button on Pico remote
Hold for 6 seconds until lights flash 3 times.


Repeat steps to pair additional Pico remote controls.

Resetting the outdoor plug to its factory settings

Note: Returning an outdoor plug to its factory settings will remove it from the Caséta system and unpair it from a Pico remote control.
Note: Unplug all loads from the outdoor plug prior to returning to factory settings.

  •  Triple tap the On/Off button on the outdoor plug. DO NOT release the button after the third tap.
  •  Keep the On/Off button pressed for approximately 3 seconds until the button flashes quickly.
  •  Release the On/Off button and immediately triple tap it again. This time release the button after the third tap. The button will flash slowly.
  • The outdoor plug has now been returned to its factory settings and can be reprogrammed into a system or paired with a Pico remote control.
