  2. Unpack the fixture and glass from the carton.
  3. Carefully review the instructions prior to assembly.
  4. Determine the desired height at which the pendant will be installed.
  5. Use a combination of stems to achieve the desired length.
  6. Refer to the provided drawings for mounting instructions.
  7. For indoor fixtures:
  8. Connect the positive supply wire (typically black or the smooth, unmarked side of the two-conductor cord) to the positive fixture lead with an appropriately sized twist-on connector.
  9. Connect the negative supply wire (typically white or the ribbed, marked side of the two-conductor cord) to the negative fixture lead.
  10. Refer to the grounding instructions below to complete all electrical connections.
  11. For outdoor fixtures:
  12. Connect the positive supply wire (typically black or the smooth, unmarked side of the two-conductor cord) to the positive fixture lead with an appropriately sized twist-on connector.
  13. Connect the negative supply wire (typically white or the ribbed, marked side of the two-conductor cord) to the negative fixture lead.
  14. Cover the open end of connectors with silicone sealant to form a watertight seal.
  15. If installing a wall mount fixture, use caulk to seal gaps between the fixture mounting plate (backplate) and the wall to prevent water from entering the outlet box.
  16. If the wall surface is lap siding, use caulk and a fixture mounting platform specially.
  17. Refer to the grounding instructions below to complete all electrical connections.
  18. Follow the wiring and grounding instructions provided in IS19-SCLL for safety.
  19. If new wiring is required, consult a qualified electrician or local authorities for code requirements.

Grounding Instructions: – For indoor and outdoor fixtures, please refer to the grounding instructions provided in IS 18. Note: The provided text extract from the user manual is incomplete and contains some unrelated information.

Mounting Instructions

start here

  1. Find a clear area in which you can work.
  2. Unpack the fixture and glass from the carton.
  3. Carefully review instructions prior to assembly.

Stem Install

  1. Determine the desired height at which the pendant will be installed
  2. The fixture is supplied with assorted stem sizes. Determine what combination of stems are needed to achieve desired length
  3. Slip stems over wire and thread first stem onto top of pendent, longest stem first. Repeat the process until all required stems are threaded together.

Mounting Instructions IS19-SCLL

start here

  1. To begin the installation, first attach the mounting strap (A) to the junction box using two 8-32 screws (B) NOT PROVIDED. Make sure the head of the ground screw is facing down – see DRAWING 1.
  2. Next, take the threaded tube (C) and thread one hex nut (D) onto the end. Now thread end of the tube (C) into hanging loop (E) approximately 1/2”. Then tighten hex nut (D) against the back of the hanging loop to lock the threaded tube in place.
  3. Now thread second hex nut (D) onto the threaded tube (C). Now thread tube (C) into the center of the mounting strap (A) approximately 1/2”.
  4. Next, it is necessary to adjust the position of the hanging loop (E). This is accomplished by slipping the hanging loop (E) through the center hole in the ceiling canopy (F). Now thread the hanging loop up or down until the top threaded portion of the loop is approximately 1/4” inside the canopy – see DETAIL 1. NOTE: A third hex nut (D) is supplied and can be threaded onto the center tube (C) above the mounting strap (A) after adjustments are made to loop height.
  5. Now threaded the medallion or screw collar ring [depending on hardware supplied] (H) and slide onto the fixture wire and over the stems that were attached to the fixture body earlier, followed by the canopy (F) -see DETAIL 2.
  6. Now lift the fixture body and stems up to the hanging loop (E). Using the single-chain link supplied, hook the last loop on the fixture stem to the hanging loop (E), and close the chain link.
  7. Slip the fixture wire through the center hole of hanging loop (E) and through the threaded tube (C) until it exits above the mounting strap (A).
  8. Make all wiring connections following the wiring instructions (IS18) provided.
  9. After wire connections are completed slide canopy (F) along stems and up to ceiling followed by medallion or screw collar (H). While holding the canopy against the ceiling, thread (H) onto the hanging loop (E), to secure the canopy to in place.
  10. Glass can now be installed. See Assembly instructionsHINKLEY-38465-Dalia-Large-Pendant-fig-2

Indoor Fixtures

  1. Connect positive supply wire (A) (typically black or the smooth, unmarked side of the two-conductor cord) to positive fixture lead (B) with an appropriately sized twist on the connector – see Drawings 1 or 2.
  2. Connect negative supply wire (C) (typically white or the ribbed, marked side of the two-conductor cord) to negative fixture lead (D).
  3. Please refer to the grounding instructions below to complete all electrical connections

Outdoor Fixtures

  1. Connect positive supply wire (A) (typically black or the smooth unmarked side of the two-conductor cord) to positive fixture lead (B) with an appropriately sized twist on the connector — see Drawings 2 or 3.
  2. Connect negative supply wire (C) (typically white or the ribbed, marked side of the two-conductor cord) to negative fixture lead (D).
  3. Cover the open end of connectors with silicone sealant to form a watertight seal.
    • If installing a wall mount fixture, use caulk to seal gaps between the fixture mounting plate (backplate) and the wall. This will help prevent water from entering the outlet box. If the wall surface is lap siding, use caulk and a fixture mounting platform specially.

Grounding instructions

Flush Mount Fixtures
For positive grounding in a 3-wire electrical system, fasten the fixture ground wire (E) (typically copper or green plastic coated) to the fixture mounting strap (M) with the ground screw (S) – see Drawing 1. Note: On straps for screw-supported fixtures, first install the two mounting screws in the strap. Any remaining tapped hole may be used for the ground screw.

Chain Hung Fixtures
Loop fixture ground wire (E) (typically copper or green plastic coated) under the head of the ground screw (S) on fixture mounting strap (M) and connect to the loose end of the fixture ground wire directly to the ground wire of the building system with appropriately sized twist-on connectors – see Drawing 2.

Post-Mount Fixtures
Connect fixture ground wire (E) (typically copper or green plastic coated) to the power supply ground with an appropriately sized twist-on connector inside the post. Cover the open end of the connector with silicone sealant to form a watertight seal – see Drawing 3.
