Honda Pioneer 700 Falcon Ridge Cab Enclosure
Instructions for Installation and Care of Honda Pioneer 700 Full Cab with
Aero-Vent Windshield
Be sure to read these instructions thoroughly before opening and installing the enclosure. The installation is best done when the temperature is 70 degrees F. or warmer. The temperature affects the adhesive Velcro, if conditions prevent installing in warmer weather it helps to store the adhesive Velcro at room temperature prior to installation.
- Carefully open the carton and roll out the enclosure on a large flat surface that is clean and free of dirt or other material that may soil the textile or scratch the clear vinyl windows of the enclosure.
- Check over the parts included in the carton with the parts list shown below:
- Velcro hook strips 18 each 3” long
- Velcro hook strips 2 each 6” long
- Velcro hook strips 2 each 9” long
- Velcro hook strips 1 each 19” long
- Velcro hook strips 2 each 39” long
- Webbing Straps w/ Velcro 2 each
- Webbing Straps w/ Loop 2 each
- Webbing Straps w/ Grommet 2 each
- Velcro hook strips 1 each 42” long
- Screw snaps 3 each (1 extra)
- Cab enclosure 3 Pieces
- Begin by opening up the enclosure and with the help of another person drape the enclosure over the roll cage and arrange into the correct position.
- You will notice double-sided Velcro strips sewn to the cab enclosure. At these locations, wrap the roll bar with one of the 3” adhesive Velcro strips. After wrapping the Velcro around the bar wrap the double-sided strip around the adhesive Velcro providing a very secure hold. Pictures on next page show how this works.
- After attaching the double-sided strips go to the rear of the door. You will see three Velcro tabs sewn here. Starting just below the top cross bar place the 32″ adhesive strips down the bar facing the rear of the vehicle. Then pull the tabs around and attach then down the bar to the Velcro. See Photos below.
- Now move to the front lower corner and place the 9″ adhesive strip to match up with the Velcro on the cab. See Photo Below.
- Last Item on the doors will be a snap on the inside front section of the plastic doors. It’s easier to place the snap in the right position by first putting the screw snap stud into the socket on the enclosure. Then pull the door into place and push the snap into the plastic so that an mark is left. Then pull the snap out and screw it into the door making sure not to over tighten and strip out the plastic. See Photos Below.
- Begin the rear window by placing the 42″ adhesive Velcro strip across the top rear bar of the roll cage. This will hold the top of the rear window in place as shown in the photo below.
- Next attach the sides to the double-sided velcro tabs sewn along the rear of the doors.
- Lastly place the 19″ Adhesive strip across the bottom to match up with the Velcro sewn to the bottom of the Rear Window.
- Supplied are four webbing straps, two with Velcro sewn to the end and two with grommets in them. Depending on the style of windshield you have will determine the strap style you will be using. If you have a windshield that has bolts holding it on you can use the straps withgrommets. Just put the bolt through the grommet and reattach it to the windshield. See photo below
- If your windshield does not have any bolt then take the strap with Velcro and 6” adhesive Velcro and attach it to the roll cage under the windshield. The photo below shows it wrapped around the bar.
- Next take the other two straps with loop sewn on one end and wrap them around the roll cage on the cross bar. There is a cut-out in the rear window for this to go through See photo below.
- Now place the top over the entire vehicle, the front of the top is identified by the sides being more steeply curved, and begin by lacing the front straps through the ladder lock buckles sewn to the front corners of the top. Diagram below shows how to use ladder buckle.
- Now run those straps up and through the ladder lock buckles sewn to the rear of the top.
- You now need to tighten and loosen the strap of the top so that it is centered correctly.
Cleaning and Storage Recommendations:
- Before removing the Cab for storage, make sure it is very clean in order to prevent scratching of the window panels. Clean with a soft rag or sponge using a mild liquid detergent soap and warm water solution. Never rub the windows with a dry cloth or rag! Let the Cab dry thoroughly before attempting to roll for storage.
- It is important that the Cab be rolled up for storage rather than folding. Folding will cause damage to the windows!!! Carefully roll up the Cab similar to the way it was when it was packed at the factory. On a large, clean and flat surface, fold the doors over the rear panel first, then, interleave the top and windshield on top of the doors. Begin rolling the Cab into a roll approximately 8 inches in diameter. Put the rolled Cab back into the carton for storage at a normal room temperature. It is best not to expose the Cab to either extreme hot or cold temperatures when storing.
- A special cleaner conditioner is available from Falcon Ridge that will greatly increase the service life of the Cab Enclosure. In addition, if additional hook and loop sets are needed, they can also be ordered.
Thank you for your purchase!
