Intended use
InLine® IR-Remote Control Center is an infrared receiver that can be
integrated into your InLine WiFi SmartHome network.
This infrared receiver is a signal receiver that repla-ces or bundles all your
existing IR remote controls in the InLine® WiFi SmartHome system.
Suitable for infrared controlled devices in a radius of 7 m with direct visual
contact.
Ensure a constant power supply via USB power. Required power supply with 5V / 1A output power is not included with the product, but optionally available at www.inline-info.de
Not intended use
Unauthorized use in the sense of a foreseeable mi-suse is considered to be
improper use:
- Do not disassemble the receiver, have repairs carried out only by specialists.
- Do not expose the device to excessive heat or direct sunlight.
- Avoid moisture
- Do not expose the product to violent shocks.
Note on radio frequency
General allocation of frequencies for use in local networks; Wireless Local
Area Networks (WiFi radio applications)
On the basis of § 55 of the Telecommunications Act (TKG), frequencies in the
range 2400.0 – 2483.5 MHz are hereby allocated for use by the general public
in local networks, Wireless Local Area Networks (WiFi radio applications).
With this general allocation, the mandatory implementation of the European
Com-mission Decision on the harmonization of the use of frequencies by short-
range devices of November 9, 2006 (2006/771/EC), last amended by the Commis-
sion‘s implementing decision of December 8, 2011 (2011/829/EU), published in
the Offi cial Journal of the European Union L 329, page 10 et seq. of De-cember
13, 2011, is effected in Germany. If you plan to use the product outside
Germany, please inform yourself in advance about the legal regulations of the
respective country.
Operation of the InLine® IR-Remote Control Center
Power connection
- Connect the Micro-USB plug to the designated Micro USB port.
- Connect the USB A plug to a USB power adapter.
- Plug the power adapter into a designated power outlet.
If you use an available USB port of your computer, make sure that your computer is turned on and not in power saving mode.

APP Download
Download the APP „Smart Life“ from the Google Play Store or APP Store and
start the app.
Registering and Login of the APP
- Open the „Smart Life“ app on your smartphone.
- Register with your mobile phone number or your email address.
- Select your router and confi rm the WiFi pass-word if necessary.
- This connects the app to your network.
Add/connect device
Connect the IR controller to the power supply, wait until the IR controller in
the housing (behind the re-set button) fl ashes blue (approx. 1 min.), if it
doesn‘t do this by itself, press the reset but-ton until the blue LED starts fl
ashing (approx. 5 seconds).
There are 2 variants available to connect this IR cont-roller with the Smart
Life app.
AUTOMATIC SCAN
Open your App Smart Life and press the „+“ sign (top right) and activate the
„Automatic Scan“.
The IR controller is searched for.
If the device appears in the app, confirm „Next“. If the device is not found,
check again whether the blue LED in the housing is still flashing, which means
that the controller is in connection mode.
If the LED is not flashing, repeat the reset of the controller as described
above.
MANUAL SEARCH
Open your App Smart Life and press the „+“ sign (top right) and activate „Add
manually“. Next, please click on „Universal remote control“ from the „Other“
section.
Select your router and enter your WiFi password. „Confi rm“ to allow the device
to connect to your network. The app will now connect to the device, wait until the
display of your smartphone confirms this. You can assign your connected device
directly to a room, but you do not have to. The device then appears in the
device overview under „All devices“.
In principle, settings/scenarios/automation for several families can be stored
in this app.
The administrator has the authorization to create families and to access all
families.
Device configuration
Select the device to be set from your connected de-vices by clicking it in the
list. Now select the type of device that the IR controller should control. You
have the possibility to select the device manu-facturer/model directly or you
learn the IR controller manually (in do it yourself = DIY). Follow the
instructions in the App Smart Life.
It is possible that not all manufacturers are available in the existing
selection list, then select the DIY va-riant directly to teach individual
function buttons of your remote control.
Select the type of de-vice you want to learn.
Now follow the instruc-tions in the app .
Device data (pen top right)
These names or assignments make it easier for you to create automatisms or scenarios.
Name of the device
Please assign a name, symbol and location that will later appear again in the
device list, automatisms and scenarios.
Information about the device
Information about the connection to the main server.
Control over a third party
If you want to use the device via a language wizard, please select it from the
suggested options to initi-ate the connection.
Share Device
Allows other people who have their own Smart Life account to access your
device. (Family settings).
Group creation
Create a group of devices that are to be controlled together via automatisms
or scenarios.
FAQ & Feedback
Stands for help, here you get fi rst aid for any prob-lems that might occur
during setup.
Add to home screen
Enables you to activate automatisms or scenarios on the home screen of the
app.
Check Network
Allows you to check the signal strength of your WiFi network.
Equipment upgrade
Check the fi rmware upgrade/ Click to check for the latest version.
Possible errors and their solutions Device cannot be switched on
Make sure that the power supply is available.
No WiFi connection possible
Make sure that the router and the device to be con-nected are turned on.
Check the available WiFi standard of the device. The InLine® SmartHome product
supports WiFi 2.4GHz / IEEE802.11b/g/n.
Network is found but cannot connect
- Make sure that you have entered your WiFi pass-word correctly.
- Check that you have selected the correct device from the drop-down list (For the IR-Controller please select „Universal Remote Control“ in the list under Others)

Disposal
Electrical and electronic devices and batteries must not be disposed of with
household waste. The con-sumer is legally obligated to return electrical and
electronic devices as well as batteries at the end of their service life to
the public collection points set up for this purpose or to the point of sale.
Dispose of the packaging material sorted according to type.
