Introduction

The CAT5 DVI KVM Extender Over LAN comprises two distinct Units, the Transmitter and Receiver Unit. This extender is specific designed for use with DVI USB KVM. Using with DVI USB KVM, it allows fully access and complete control of your computing resources over the UTP cable. They are LAN based KVM Extender systems that allow access to a computer system from a remote console anywhere on your existing network infrastructure.

Installation

Take the package items out of the box and begin installation

Note: Before the installation, please ensure that the 4 Positions Dip Switch of the Transmitter and Receiver Unit are set to the same positions (1 to 4, the default setting for all switches are ON, then you can slide down to adjust as needed but, they are have to correspond on the same positions), otherwise it might be encounter connection problem.

Setup Local Console (61641-TX) Front-Panel

  • a. Connect DVI-D port(a) to Monitor DVI-D port
  • b. Connect Keyboard to USB port (b)
  • c. Connect Mouse to USB port (c)
  • d. Connect Mic. to Mic. Jack In (d).
  • e. Connect Speakers to Speaker Jack Out (e).
  • f. Connect IR Remote Control Unit to Remote Out (Optional).
  • g. Adjust Position Dip Switch pins Number and Position correspond with 61641-RX.

Setup Local Console (61641-TX) Back-Panel

  1. Connect KVM Keyboard / Mouse to USB port (3).
  2. Connect Device to USB Device port (4).
  3. Connect DVI-D / Audio port (5) to PC VGA port.
  4. Connect one end of the RJ45 port (7) and the other end to the Gigabit LAN port with UTP Cat5 cable.

Setup Remote Console (61641-RX) Front-Panel

  • a. Connect to Mic. In (a) Jack with Mic.
  • b. Connect to Speaker Out Jack (b) with Speakers
  • c. Connect Remote In (c) with Wired Remote Control Unit (Optional)
  • d. Adjust the Position Dip Switch pins Number and Position corresponding to 61641-TX’s Dip Switch Position.

Setup Remote Console (61641-RX) Back-Panel

  1. Connect to USB device port (3,4) with USB devices
  2. Connect to USB ports (5,6) with Keyboard and Mouse
  3. Connect DVI-D port (7) to Monitor DVI-D port
  4. Connect one end of the RJ45 port (9) and the other end to the Gigabit LAN port with UTP Cat5 cable.

Now, you have set up the whole system and ready to operate.

Operation

Power on Transmitter (61641-TX)

  1. Connect the Power Adapter by plug-in to Power Jack (2) to power on (61641-TX)
  2. Power on PC and Monitor
  3. Power LED (i) (Red, Lit when power is ON)
  4. Link LED (j) (Green, Lit when link is Active)
  5. RJ45 LED (7) (Green, Lit / Flash when Link is ON)
  6. RJ45 LED (8) (Yellow, Lit when Link is Active)
  7. Sw1 (g) (Yellow, Momentary Switch) short press to switch ON and OFF Remote Console
  8. Sw2 (h) (Yellow, Momentary Switch) Short press to select Graphic Mode/Video Mode (Long press to select Anti-Dither 1/2/OFF)

Power on Receiver (61641-RX)

  1. Connect the Power Adapter by plug-in to Power Jack (2) to power on (61641-RX)
  2. Power on Monitor
  3. Power LED (f) (Red lit when Power is ON)
  4. Link LED (g) (Green lit when Link is Active)
  5. RJ45 LED (9) (Green lit when Link is ON / Flashing when Link is Active)
  6. RJ45 LED (10) ( Yellow lit, link is ON / Flashing when Link is Active)
