Caffenu Evoluo Eco Cleaning Capsules Instruction Manual

Instructions for all Vertuo®* Machines except Plus

1. Eject any used capsules. Empty water tank, drip tray, and capsule container. Close machine without locking.
2. Place a 34 fl oz/1 L container under the spout.
3. Mix 3,4 fl oz/100 ml descaler with 17 fl. oz/0.5 L water, fill tank.
4. Turn on machine till light stabilizes (do not lock).
5. Hold button for 9 sec to enter descaling mode.
6. Lock, then unlock machine; hold button for 9 sec.
7. Lock machine, push button to start descaling; machine stops when descaling done.
8. Wait 5 min.
9. Thoroughly rinse tank, refill with 34 fl oz/1 L water.
10. Press button to rinse; machine will auto-stop.
11. Exit descaling: hold button for 9 sec (not Vertuo®* Next).
12. Descaling is complete. Clean drip tray, cup stand, capsule container.
13. Wait 5 min before using machine.

Instructions for Vertuo®* Plus

1. Eject any used capsules. Empty water tank, drip tray, and capsule container. Close machine.
2. Place a 34 fl oz/1 L container under the spout.
3. Mix 3,4 fl oz/100 ml descaler with 17 fl. oz/0.5 L water, fill tank.
4. Turn on the machine and wait for the steady light.
5. Push the lever down for 3 seconds to turn the machine off.
6. Enter descaling mode by holding the lever and button down for 3 seconds.
7. Press the lever down ONCE to enter descaling function.
8. Start descaling by pushing the button (light blinks during cycle). The machine will stop when done.
9. Thoroughly rinse tank, refill with 34 fl oz/1 L water.
10. Start rinse cycle by pressing the button. Machine stops automatically (blinking orange light every 2 seconds).
11. Exit descaling mode by holding the lever and button down for 3 seconds (light turns green & steady).
12. Descaling is complete. Clean drip tray, cup stand, and capsule container.
13. Wait 5 min before using machine.

Cleaning Instructions for ALL Vertuo®* Machines

The Caffenu® cleaning pod was specifically designed to clean the brewing chamber and spout of your Nespresso® Vertuo® coffee machine.
RECOMMENDED USAGE: Use one cleaning pod weekly (recommended). Use at least once a month or after every 30 cups.
NOT A DESCALER! Please also remember to descale your machine every 2-4 months with the Caffenu® Eco Descaler for Vertuo®.

General Instructions BEFORE CLEANING for ALL Vertuo®* Machines

Rinse the water tank and refill it with fresh water. • Check for any coffee pods and empty the pod basket. Take out the drip tray and position a container with at least 34 fl oz/1 L capacity under the coffee spout

1. Ensure you’ve followed general instructions before cleaning.

2. Turn on the machine until the light is steady.

3. Insert a Caffenu® cleaning pod.

4. Lock the machine head.

5. Press the button swiftly three times within two seconds to start cleaning (+-1½ mins until flow starts). Cleaning takes 5-7 minutes. Light will turn steady once finished.
   If machine light flashes red, or cycle does not begin: Open machine and ensure capsule is inserted correctly and level; repeat step 4 & 5.

6. Remove the pod carefully. CAUTION! hot!

7. Remove pod basket and drip tray and dispose of cleaning pod.

8. Rinse the pod basket and drip tray and place them back. Put empty container under spout.

9. Fill the water tank.

10. Repeat steps 2, 4, and 5 for rinsing (without inserting a pod).

11. Gently wipe down the machine and inside the machine head.

12. Machine is now ready to use.

TOP TIP

Soak pod basket and drip tray in container with solution for 2 minutes, then rinse with water

CAUTION: Avoid corrosive cleaners. Not dishwasher-safe. Keep machine dry; no submersion. Regularly wipe coffee spout and rest of the machine with a clean damp cloth.
NOTE: Watch for water buildup; dry accessible areas if needed.

CLEANING IN 4 EASY STEPS

1. **INSERT

Insert pod like you would a coffee pod. Close & lock machine

Press button swiftly 3 times to start the cleaning cycle.

3. **EJECT

Eject and dispose of the cleaning pod. Close & lock machine.

4. **RINSE

Press button swiftly 3 times to start the rinsing cycle.

Note: Descaler can damage surfaces. Avoid splashing/spilling descaler on acid intolerant surfaces such as marble, limestones, chrome plated steel, enamel, silver, and wood.
RECOMMENDED USAGE: Descale every 2-4 months. Do not wait for descaling light to come on.
