General Introduction

Thanks for choosing BOYA! The BOVA 331-CM5 Is a USN condenser microphone, compatible with most Android device, tablets with USB-C connector and Nab/Windows computers. It can be used at a variable applications, such as home-studio recording, podcasting, video coherence call, vocals, instruments recording, and more

The microphone features selectable card. and omnidirectional pickup patterns, allowing you to customize your audio, and supporting 201stAIS kHz resolution. Cautions

• It you do not intend to use the microphone for a long period of time. please remove the USB cable.
• Do not touch the microphone while recording, as this will cause noise to be recorded.
• Do not let the microphone close to high-voltage equipment or to…that emit strong electromagnetic fields, otherwise, It may cause the noise to be recorded.
• Do not use or leave the microphone in hot, humid Place.

Product Structure

2. Headphone volume /gain / mute control

Note: Under mute mode, you can’t switch between gain control and headphone volume control mode by long pressing the knob. Please short press the knob to unmute the mic before switching.

3. Polar pattern Indicators

Cardioid
Maximizes the rejection of sound coming horn the sides and rear of the mic and can be used as a directional microphone to capture full, rich, natural- sounding audio for podcast speech, dialog, instrument, etc.

Omnidirectional
Pick up sound equally from all directions, capturing a natural blend of voice and ambiance with low sensitivity to wind and handling noise, as well as to vocal plosives.

Functions

Angle Adjustment

Loosen the knobs of both sides anticlockwise. Adjust the microphone at your desired angle, then tighten the knobs.

Mounting the BY-CM5 to a boom arm

1. Unscrew the locking knobs to remove the microphone from the desktop stand.
2. Mount the BY-CM5 to the boom arm through its 5/8″ threaded hole.

Note: the boom arm is not included.

Operation Guide

1. Connect the microphone to your smartphone/computer.

2. Connect headphones for audio monitoring.

3. Adjust the headphone volume/gain/mute control knob according to your needs.

4. You are ready to record.

Set-Up for Windows 10

1. Connect the microphone to the L1513 port on your computer using the supplied USES cable.
2. Go to ‘Setting. choose ‘Sound’ as shown.
3. Select ‘Speaker BY-CM5″ as output device.
4. Select ‘Microphone BY-CM5. as input device.

Set-Up for Windows 7

1. Connect the microphone to the ASS port on your computer using the supplied USB cable.
2. From the-Setting Menu”, select the ‘Control
3. Go to “Control Panel- , select ‘Hardware and Sound..
4. Select “Sound”
5. In the ‘ Sound ‘, select ‘ Speaker BY-CM5 ” as the default device under the “playback” tab.

6. In the “Sound”, select “Microphone BY-CM5” as the default device under the “Recording’ tab.

Set-Up for Mac

1. Connect the microphone to the USB port on your computer using the supplied 056 cable.
2. Go to Apple Icon—>System Preferences—>Sound Icon.
3. Select “ BY-CM5 ” under ” Input’ tab.

4. Select “ BY-CM5 ” under “ Output ” tab.
