INSTALLATION

Wall Bracket Installation

  1. Remove the bracket from the doorbell.kogan-KASMDBL2PGA-SmarterHome-Smart-Doorbell-2-Pro-5

  2. Attach the bracket to the wall using screws, then slide the doorbell back onto the bracket.
    Note: Depending on the type of wall you are securing to, you may need to use the included wall anchors as well. If you’re unsure as to what hardware suits your requirements, please seek advice from a qualified trade professional.

  3. Attach the battery box to the doorbell. Ensure it is sufficiently charged (via Micro USB cable and Power Adapter) before installing.

Double-sided Tape Installation

  1. Attach the double-sided adhesive tape to both sides of the bracket.
  2. Peel off the opposite side of the tape, and fit the doorbell to a clean, flat surface.
  3. Attach the battery box to the doorbell. Ensure it is sufficiently charged (via Micro USB cable and Power Adapter) before installing.

CONNECT TO SMARTERHOME™ APP

Install App
Download the “Kogan SmarterHome” app from the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS).

Register
If you do not have a Kogan SmarterHome™ account, register or sign in with a verification code sent by SMS.

To register:

  1.  Tap to enter registration page.
  2.  The system automatically recognizes your country/area. You can also select your country code manually. Enter your email address and tap ‘Next.’
  3.  Alternatively, you can select ‘Register by mobile number’ and enter the verification code sent to you by SMS.

Set device in pairing mode
When the doorbell is first turned on, it will automatically enter pairing mode (indicator light will be flashing rapidly). If you do not pair with the SmarterHome™ app within a set time, the doorbell will time out and exit pairing mode. You can manually set the device in pairing mode by pressing the Reset 2 button for five seconds until the indicator light begins flashing.

Add device through network

  1.  Once registered, tap “+” in the upper right corner of the app’s home page to add a new device through the network.
  2.  Select the product type from the list of options in the app (Home Security > Door Bells).
  3.  Ensure that the device is in pairing mode, with the indicator light rapidly flashing, and tap “Confirm light is rapidly flashing”.kogan-KASMDBL2PGA-SmarterHome-Smart-Doorbell-2-Pro-10
  4.  Upon successfully confirming pairing mode, enter your Wi-Fi details. It is important that your SmarterHome™ device and the app are connected to the same Wi-Fi network during setup.
  5.  The camera will next activate and begin scanning for a QR code. When pressing “Continue” in the app, the next screen will display the code. Ensure you are ready to hold your phone in front of the camera before selecting “Continue”, then wait until a sound confirms that it has been scanned.
  6.  Select “I heard a prompt” when that sound is made. If no sound is made, select “No prompts” and try again.kogan-KASMDBL2PGA-SmarterHome-Smart-Doorbell-2-Pro-11
  7.  The device will commence the pairing process and connect to the app. Ensure your Wi-Fi router, mobile phone, and the SmarterHome™ device are kept close until connection is complete.
  8.  After successfully being added, you will have the option to rename the device and assign it to a location. It will now be listed on the app’s home page. Tap the device listing to enter its control page.

PAIRING CHIME WITH DOORBELL

  1.  Attach the Chime to a USB power adapter.kogan-KASMDBL2PGA-SmarterHome-Smart-Doorbell-2-Pro-13
  2.  Short press the Reset button on the Chime, the indicator will begin flashing BLUE. The Chime is now pairing mode (searching for connection).kogan-KASMDBL2PGA-SmarterHome-Smart-Doorbell-2-Pro-14
  3.  Press the Doorbell button, the Chime will sound to react. The indicator will turn solid BLUE when successfully paired.

PAIRING CHIME VIA APP

  1.  Tap · · · button in the App (top right corner).
  2.  Select ‘Bell Settings’.
  3.  Press ‘Bind’. The chime will connect within 2 seconds.
  4. Select the ringtone and volume settings, exit back to the Preview screen to complete the process. The indicator light on the chime will turn solid BLUE if successfully paired.kogan-KASMDBL2PGA-SmarterHome-Smart-Doorbell-2-Pro-16

GOOGLE HOME CONTROL

Adding “SmarterHome” to the Google Home app

  1.  From the home page of the Google Home app, select the “+” icon to access the ‘Add and manage’ page.
  2.  Select ‘Set up device’, then under the Works with Google banner, select ‘Have something already set up?’
  3.  Select the search bar and type ‘Smarter Home’ to locate the Kogan SmarterHome™ service.kogan-KASMDBL2PGA-SmarterHome-Smart-Doorbell-2-Pro-17
  4.  Tap ‘Authorise’ to grant Google permission to access the SmarterHome™ app and your devices.
  5.  From here, you will be prompted to sign into your SmarterHome™ account using either your email or mobile phone number, depending on which method you used to register your account.

AMAZON ALEXA CONTROL

Adding “SmarterHome” to the Alexa app

  1.  From the home page of the Alexa app, select the “ ” icon in the top-right and select Skills & Games from the sidebar.
  2.  Select the search bar and type ‘Smarter Home’ to locate the Kogan SmarterHome™ skill.kogan-KASMDBL2PGA-SmarterHome-Smart-Doorbell-2-Pro-20
  3.  Tap ‘Enable to Use’ to add the Kogan SmarterHome™ skill to Alexa.
  4.  From here, you will be prompted to sign into your SmarterHome™ account using either your email or mobile phone number, depending on which method you used to register your account.
  5.  Tap ‘Authorise’ to grant Alexa permission to access the SmarterHome™ app and your devices.kogan-KASMDBL2PGA-SmarterHome-Smart-Doorbell-2-Pro-21
  6.  Once connected, the app will perform a search and display the devices linked to your SmarterHome™ account.

OPERATION

Full-duplex audio
When the visitors push the doorbell button, you will get a call. You can see and hear the visitor in your App from the doorbell if you answer.

PIR
When the doorbell detects someone stopping by, it sends a notification to your phone.

Shared device
The doorbell device can be shared with friends and friends. There is no limit to the number people shared with, but only 6 accounts are supported for online preview at the same time.

Record
Record every moment using a high-capacity SD card storage (not included).

Day & Night

Charging the Battery

  1.  From the Preview, screen tap the ‘Settings’ (· · ·) button in the top right corner.
  2.  Select ‘Basic Feature Settings’.kogan-KASMDBL2PGA-SmarterHome-Smart-Doorbell-2-Pro-24
  3.  From the ‘Basic Feature Settings’ screen tap ‘Unlock the Battery’.
  4.  The bayonet lock will disengage. The battery box can now safely be removed.
  5.  Connect the battery box to a power outlet using the supplied Micro USB cable and power adapter. The battery box can now be safely removed.
  6.  The charging indicator will be solid RED when the battery is charging and will turn to solid BLUE when it is fully charged.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Solution

While connecting to the Kogan SmarterHome™ app, it never successfully reaches 100% and connects.| ****

This doorbell only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi router, ensure you are using a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi router and confirm the Wi- Fi password again. 5.0GHz connections will not connect.

Multiple repeated attempts to connect.| After a failed attempt to connect, you may need to restart the device or power off and then try to add again.
After connecting, the device does not appear online, or cannot be accessed in the app.| Check whether the network is normal, you can place the camera close to the router and if not, it is recommended to reset the device and add it again.
Unable to reconnect with a new router.| First remove and reset the device on the SmarterHome™ app and then configure the device again within the app.


App not displaying smart phone notifications.

| Ensure that notifications are activated Message notification and authority confirmation in the mobile phone system has been opened.


Doorbell not recognising the SD card.

| ****

It is recommended to remove and re-insert an SD card after a power cut. Confirm whether the SD card is normally available (try reading it on another device) and that the format is FAT32.
