LUTRON RMNS-16R-DV-B Vive PowPak Relay Module with Softswitch
Required Components
For each system ensure you have:
At least one PowPak Relay Module
At least one Wireless Transmitter
Installation
RMNS-16R-DV-B With Softswitch
220 – 240 V~ 50 / 60 Hz 16 A
6 A Motor at 220 – 240 V~
Note for Replacement:
RMxS – the “S” model can replace the non-“S” mode
Important Notes: Please read before installing.
- For installation by a qualified electrician in accordance with all local and national electrical codes.
- Note: Use copper conductors only.
- Check to see that the device type and rating is suitable for the application.
- DO NOT install if product has any visible damage.
- If moisture or condensation is evident, allow the product to dry completely before installation.
- Operate between 0 °C and 55 °C.
- 0% to 90% humidity, non-condensing.
- For indoor use only.

Turn off power at circuit breaker before installing the unit.

All Wireless Transmitters must be installed within 9 m of the PowPak Relay Module.
Start Here
Install PowPak Relay Module
Suggested Installation Location: Center of room to ensure proper RF coverage of area.
A Install the 1/2 in NPT to 20 mm conduit adapter (provided) onto the
PowPak Relay Module.
B The PowPak Relay Module can be installed in a junction box or
marshalling box using the conduit nut (provided) or with mounting screws (not
provided). Please consult local and national electric codes for proper
installation.
C Once installed, energize the PowPak Relay Module.
D Use the Relay Toggle button to toggle between ON and OFF to verify
wiring.
Wiring a Lever Operated Connector
When wiring lever operated connectors (2 supplied) use 2.5 mm2 to 4.0 mm2 (14
AWG to 12 AWG) solid or stranded copper wire.
Programming with a Vive Hub
A Use and iOS or Android compatible device.
B Download the Lutron Vive app.
C Open the app and follow the instructions.

PowPak | Programming Without a Vive Hub
Associate Wireless Transmitters to PowPak Relay Module
Before beginning this step, make sure that there are no other PowPak modules
being set up within the same building.
It is possible that Wireless Transmitters from other systems can be
incorrectly associated to this system.
A Hold the Relay Toggle button on the PowPak Relay Module for 6 seconds
to enter association mode.
Note: The load will flash once after each step to confirm successful
completion.
B Hold the indicated button on a Wireless Transmitter for 6 seconds to
associate the device.* Repeat for any additional Wireless Transmitters.
- If no button, hold “Lights Off” button.
C Hold the Relay Toggle button on the PowPak Relay Module for 6 seconds to save association(s).
D Permanently install wireless transmitters (consult individual component installation guides for information).
Calibrate the Radio Power Saver Daylight Sensor
Daylight Sensor will control all wired fixtures equally.
A Press and release the “Cal.” button on the Daylight Sensor.
B Turn lights in room on using the Relay Toggle button on the PowPak Relay Module or an associated Pico wireless control.
C Press and hold the “Cal.” button for 6 seconds.
D Exit room for 5 minutes to allow calibration to be completed.
Note: When calibration has completed, all lights will flash and begin to respond to daylight.
Reset Factory Defaults
Note: In some instances it may be necessary to reset the PowPak Relay Module back to factory default settings.
A Rapidly tap the Advanced Operations (“ ADV ”) button on the Relay Module three times and hold on the fourth time until the LED begins to flash at a rate of approx. 2 blinks every 1 second and the relay will cycle on/off 3 times, then release the ADV button.
B Within 3 seconds of the start of flashing of the LED on the Relay module and the relay cycling, rapidly tap the ADV button on the Relay Module three times again. Make sure to release the ADV button after the third press.
C The LED will flash at a rate of 2 blink/3 seconds and the connected relay will cycle 3 times to indicate the unit has been reset to factory defaults.
Note: Any associations or programming previously set up with the unit will be lost and will need to be re-programmed.
Troubleshooting
Load does not respond to Wireless Transmitter(s)|
- Ensure breaker to the PowPak Relay Module is on.
- Ensure the load has been properly wired to the PowPak Relay Module.
- Ensure Wireless Transmitter is properly associated to PowPak Relay Module.
- Ensure Wireless Transmitter’s battery is installed correctly.

Wireless Transmitter(s) cannot be associated to PowPak Relay Module|
- The maximum number of Wireless Transmitters have been associated to the PowPak Relay Module. To remove a previously set up Wireless Transmitter, tap the button used for association on the Wireless Transmitter three times, on the third tap hold for three seconds and then tap three more times.
