Noise values and vibration values (triax vector sum) according to EN62841-3-9
Emission sound pressure level Lo1/4| dB(A)| 92
---|---|---
Sound power level LWA| dB(A)| 101
KpA(uncertainty for the given sound pressure)| dB(A)| 3

The vibration and/or noise emission level given in this information sheet has been measured in accordance with a standardised test given in EN62841 and may be used to compare one tool with another. It may be used for a preliminary assessment of exposure.

WARNING: The declared vibration emission level represents the main application of the tool. However, if the tool is used for different applications, with different accessories or poorly maintained, the vibration emission may differ.
This may significantly increase the exposure level over the total working period. An estimation of the level of exposure to vibration should also take into account the times when the tool is switched off or when it is running but not actually doing the job. This may significantly reduce the exposure level over the total working period. Identify additional safety measures to protect the operator from the side effects of vibration such as: maintaining the tool and the accessories, keeping hands warm, and organisation of work patterns.

WARNING: Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

SAVE ALL WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.

The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.

  1. Work Area Safety
    a) Keep the work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
    b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite dust or fumes.
    c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
  2. Electrical Safety
a ) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce the risk of electric shock.
    b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
    c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
    d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling, or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
    e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. The use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
    f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. The use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
  3. Personal Safety
    a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs,  alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
    b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust masks, non-skid safety shoes, hard hats or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
    c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to a power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying ower tools with your finger on the switch or energizing power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.

d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair and clothing away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry, or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. The use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
h) Do not let familiarity gained from frequent use of tools allow you to become complacent and ignore tool safety principles. A careless action can cause severe injury within a fraction of a second.
4) Power Tool Use and Care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate at which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack, if detachable, from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e) Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories, tool bits, etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
h) Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean, and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations.
5) Battery Tool Use and Care
a) Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
b) Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. The use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
c) When the battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.

d) Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts the eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
e) Do not use a battery pack or tool that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion, or risk of injury.
f) Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 130°C may cause an explosion.
g) Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery pack or tool outside the temperature range specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside the specified range may damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.

6) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
b) Never service damaged battery packs. Service of battery packs should only be performed by the manufacturer or authorized service providers.

Charging a Battery and Operation
– (Fig. 4 – 4d)**

  • The battery pack for this tool has been shipped in a low-charge condition to prevent possible problems. Therefore, you should charge it until the green LED on the front right-hand side of the charger comes on.
  • NOTE: Batteries will not reach full charge the first time they are charged. Allow several cycles (operation followed by recharging) for them to become fully charged.
  • First, read the safety instructions then follow the charging instructions.
  • Plug the charger into a standard 230V~50Hz mains socket outlet, the green LED on the front left-hand side of the charger will illuminate.
  • Do not allow the cable to become knotted or kinked.
  • Place the battery pack into the charger base. (Note the battery has raised ribs which allows it to fit into the charger only one way). Time the charge 48, 54 minutes only.
  •  The red LED on the front right-hand side of the charger will illuminate to indicate charging is in progress. A green LED will illuminate when the battery is fully charged.
  • Unplug the charger when not in use and store it in a suitable storage cabinet.
  •  Avoid charging your battery in freezing conditions as charging power will not be sufficient.
  • When charging more than one battery pack in succession allow at least 30 minutes for the charger to cool down before charging an additional battery.
  • Always remove the battery pack and store it safely when the tool is not in use.

CAUTION: If at any point during the charging process none of the LEDs are lit, remove the battery pack from the charger to avoid damaging the product.
DO NOT insert another battery.
Cooling System
The charger is equipped with an internal fan designed to cool the charger. Never operate the charger if the fan does not operate properly or if ventilation slots are blocked. Do to permit foreign objects to enter the interior of the charger.
Hot/Cold Pack Delay
When the charger detects a battery pack that is too hot or too cold, it automatically starts a Hot/Cold Pack Delay, suspending charging until the battery pack has reached an appropriate temperature. The charger then automatically switches to the pack charging mode. This feature ensures maximum battery pack life.
Electronic Protection system
Trend Li-Ion tools are designed with an Electronic Protection System that will protect the battery pack against overloading, overheating, or deep discharge.
The tool will automatically turn off if the Electronic Protection System engages.

Battery Charging Indoors
This charger is designed to be used indoors. We do not recommend that it is used inside your home. Ideally, batteries should be charged on a bench in a workshop, garage, or shed. If the charging operation is to be carried out in your home the area must be well ventilated and the charger must be placed on a non-combustible surface ensuring that the  ventilation slots are not blocked

Wall Mounting
These chargers are designed to be wall mountable or to sit upright on a table or work surface. If wall mounting, locate the charger within reach of an electrical outlet, and away from a corner or other obstructions which may impede airflow. Use the back of the charger as a template for the location of the mounting screws on the wall. Mount the charger securely using suitable fixings depending on wall type, a head diameter of 7 – 9mm and length of 25mm is recommended. Leave a suitable length of the screw exposed to allow the charger to be fitted. Align the slots on the back of the charger with the exposed screws and fully engage them in the slots.

Charger Cleaning Instructions
WARNING: Shock hazard. Disconnect the charger from the AC outlet before cleaning. Dirt and grease may be removed from the exterior of the charger using a cloth or soft non-metallic brush. Do not use water or any cleaning solutions. Never let any liquid get inside the tool; never immerse any part of the tool into a liquid.

  • Do not incinerate the battery pack even if it is severely damaged or is completely worn out. The battery pack can explode in a fire. Toxic fumes and materials are created when lithium-ion battery packs are burned.
  • If battery contents come into contact with the skin, immediately wash the area with mild soap and water. If battery liquid gets into the eye, rinse water over the open eye for 15  inutes or until irritation ceases. If medical attention is needed, the battery electrolyte is composed of a mixture of liquid organic carbonates and lithium salts.
  • Contents of opened battery cells may cause respiratory irritation. Provide fresh air. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention.

** WARNING: Burn hazard. Battery liquid may be flammable if exposed to spark or flame.**

**WARNING:** Never attempt to open the battery pack for any reason. If the battery pack case is cracked or damaged, do not insert it into the charger. Do not crush, drop or damage the battery pack. Do not use a battery pack or charger that has received a sharp blow, been dropped, run over, or damaged in any way (i.e., pierced with a nail, hit with a hammer,  stepped on). Electric shock or electrocution may result. Damaged battery packs should be returned to a service center for recycling.

** WARNING: Fire hazard. Do not store or carry the battery pack so that metal objects can contact exposed battery terminals. For example, do not place the battery pack in aprons, pockets, tool boxes, product kit boxes, drawers, etc., with loose nails, screws, keys, etc.
CAUTION:** When not in use, place the tool on its side on a stable surface where it will not cause a tripping or falling hazard. Some tools with large battery packs will stand upright on the battery pack but may be easily knocked over.

Battery Operation

Charge Status
To display the amount of charge left in the battery, press the charge level indicator button, (Fig.2). Fig. 2a shows the relation between the LED indication and the charge left.
NOTE: The battery charge level indicator is only an indication of the charge left on the battery pack. It does not indicate tool functionality and is subject to variation based on product components, temperature, and end-user application.
Self-Discharge
A lithium battery can self-discharge and lose its stored charge. Typically it can lose approximately 5% of its charge in the first month after fully charging (when stored at room temperature), and then loses it by a further 3% per month. When stored at higher temperatures the self-discharge rate will be accelerated.

Transportation
WARNING: Fire hazard. Transporting batteries can possibly cause a fire if the battery terminals inadvertently come in contact with conductive materials. When transporting batteries, make sure that the battery terminals are protected and well insulated from materials that could contact them and cause a short circuit.
NOTE: Lithium-ion batteries should not be put in checked baggage.

Trend batteries comply with all applicable shipping regulations as prescribed by industry and legal standards which include UN Recommendations on the Transport of  Dangerous  Goods; International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations, International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Regulations, and the  European Agreement Concerning The International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR). Lithium-ion cells and batteries have been tested to section 38.3 of the UN  Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods Manual of Tests and Criteria.
In most instances, shipping a Trend battery pack will be excepted from being classified as a fully regulated Class 9 Hazardous Material. In general, only shipments containing a  lithium-ion battery with an energy rating greater than 100 Watt Hours (Wh) will require being shipped as fully regulated Class 9.
All lithium-ion batteries have the Watt Hour rating marked on the pack. Furthermore, due to regulation complexities, Trend does not recommend air shipping lithium-ion battery packs alone regardless of Watt Hour rating. Shipments of tools with batteries (combo kits) can be air shipped as excepted if the Watt Hour rating of the battery pack is no greater than 100 Whr. Regardless of whether a shipment is considered excepted or fully regulated, it is the shipper’s responsibility to consult the latest regulations for packaging, labeling/marking, and documentation requirements.
The information provided in this section of the manual is provided in good faith and believed to be accurate at the time the document was created. However, no warranty,  expressed or implied, is given. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure that its activities comply with the applicable regulations.
Storage Recommendations
The best storage place is one that is cool and dries away from direct sunlight and excess heat or cold. For optimum battery performance and life, store battery packs at room temperature when not in use.
For long storage, it is recommended to store a fully charged battery pack in a cool, dry place out of the charger for optimal results.
NOTE: Battery packs should not be stored completely depleted of charge. The battery pack will need to be recharged before use.

Changing a Blade – (Fig. 5 – 5b)
DANGER: The blade is extremely sharp and care must be observed when handling. Never try to use a blade larger than the stated capacity of the saw. It might come into contact with the blade guards. Never use a blade that is too thick to allow the outer blade washer to engage with the flats on the spindle. It will prevent the blade bolt from properly securing the blade on the spindle.

  • Do not use the saw to cut metal or masonry.
  • Ensure that any spacers and spindle ring that may be required suit the spindle and the blade fitted.
  • Make sure that the battery is removed from the machine.
  • Push down on the operating handle and pull the release knob to disengage the saw arm.
  • Raise the saw arm to its highest position.
  • Rotate the lower blade guard up and into the upper blade guard and press the spindle lock button (Fig.5 – 5a)
  • Rotate the blade until the spindle locks.
  • Use the 6mm Allen key wrench to remove the blade bolt (Fig. 5b) (Loosen in a clockwise direction as the blade screw has a left-hand thread).
  • Remove the washer, outer blade flange, and the blade.
  • Wipe a drop of oil onto the inner blade washer and the outer blade washer where they contact the blade.
  • Fit the new blade onto the spindle taking care that the inner blade washer sits behind the blade.

**CAUTION:** To ensure correct blade rotation, always install the blade with the blade teeth and the arrow printed on the side of the blade pointing down.

  • The direction of blade rotation is also stamped with an arrow on the upper blade guard.
  • Replace the outer blade washer.
  • Depress the spindle lock button and replace the blade bolt.
  • Use the 6mm Allen key wrench to tighten the blade screw securely (anti-clockwise).
  • Check that the blade guard operates correctly and covers the blade as the saw arm is lowered.
  • Connect the battery to the machine and run the saw to make certain that it is operating correctly.

Transportation
Lift the miter saw only when the saw arm is locked in the down position, the saw is switched off and the battery is removed from the machine. You must only lift the saw by the castings. Do not lift the saw using the guards.
Bench Mounting – (Fig. 6)
The saw base has 4 mounting holes to facilitate bench mounting. Attach the saw to a level, horizontal bench, or work table using bolts (not supplied) through the fixing holes in the saw base.
NOTE: If desired, you can mount the saw to a piece of 8 mm or thicker plywood which can then be clamped to your work support or moved to other job sites andre- clamped.

**CAUTION: Make sure that the mounting surface is not warped as an uneven surface can cause binding and inaccurate sawing.
Dust Bag – (Fig. 7)
The dust bag fits onto the dust extractor port. Squeeze the two metal tabs on the end of the dust extraction bag to allow it to slide over the dust extractor port.
For efficient operation, empty the dust bag when it is no more than half full. This allows for better airflow through the bag. A dust extraction system may also be connected to the dust extraction port for a cleaner and safer work area.
Fitting The Clamp Assembly – (Fig. 8)**

  • Two sockets (one on either side) are incorporated into the rear of the machine’s fence. These sockets are for positioning the Clamp Assembly.
  • Fit the clamp to the retaining socket that best suits the cutting application, ensuring that it is fully pushed down.
  • Tighten the clamp assembly lock knob to lock the pillar of the clamp into the fence socket
  • Place the workpiece to be cut onto the saw table, against the fence, and in the desired position.
  • Adjust the clamp using the thumbscrews and hand-wheel so that it securely holds the workpiece to the saw table.
  • Conduct a ‘dry run’ with the battery disconnected.
Ensure that the Clamp does not interfere with the path of the blade, or with the path of any other part of the cutting head as it is lowered.

Setting the Table Square with the Blade – (Fig. 9 – 9i)

  • Make sure that the battery is removed from the saw.
  • Push the saw arm down to its lowest position (Fig. 9)
  • Engage the release knob to hold the saw arm in the transport position, (Fig. 9a)
  •  Fit the miter lock handle (Fig. 9b)
  • Rotate the table until the pointer is positioned at 0
  • Tighten the miter lock handle. (Fig. 9c)
  • Loosen the bevel lock and set the saw arm at bevel (the blade at 90  to the miter table). (Fig. 9d)
  • Tighten the bevel lock, (Fig. 9e)
  • Place a set square against the table and the flat part of the blade (Fig. 9f)

NOTE: Make sure that the square contacts the flat part of the saw blade, not the teeth. Rotate the blade by hand and check the blade-to-table alignment at several points.
The edge of the set square and the saw blade should be parallel.

  • If the saw blade angles away from the set square, adjust as follows:
  • Loosen the bevel lock.
  • Use a 10 mm wrench or adjustable wrench to loosen the lock nut securing the 0° bevel adjustment screw and then adjust the 0° bevel adjustment screw using an H3 Hex to bring the saw blade into alignment with the square. (Fig. 9h)
  • Make sure the edge of the set is square and the saw blade should be parallel.
  • Tighten the bevel lock.
  • Loosen the screw holding the pointer of the bevel scale and adjust the position of the pointer so that it accurately indicates zero on the scale. Retighten the screw (Fig. 9i)
  • Retighten the bevel lock and the lock nut securing the 0° bevel adjustment screw.

NOTE: The above procedure can also be used to check the angle of the saw blade to the table at 45 O  bevel angle. The 45 O bevel adjustment screw is on the opposite side of the saw arm.

Trench Depth Adjustment – (Fig. 10 – 10b)
In its normal position, the trenching stop permits the saw blade to cut right through a workpiece.

  • To adjust the trench stop pull out the release knob  and fully raise the saw arm (Fig. 10)
  • When the saw arm is lifted, the trenching stop can be adjusted so that the trenching depth adjustment screw contacts the stop as the saw arm is lowered.
  • Deploy the stop by moving it outwards. If the trenching stop won’t move, slightly loosen the screw using a crosshead screwdriver. (Fig. 10a)
  • This restricts the cut to a “trench” in the workpiece.
  • The depth of the trench can be adjusted with the trenching depth adjustment screw and locked in position with the trenching depth lock nut (Fig. 10b)

OPERATION

**WARNING: Always observe the safety instructions and applicable regulations.
WARNING:** To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, turn the tool off and disconnect the battery pack before making any adjustments or removing/ installing attachments or accessories. An accidental start-up can cause injury.

Proper Hand Position – (Fig. 11 – 11b)
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, ALWAYS use proper hand position as shown.
WARNING: Before each use always check the operation of the lower guard before connecting the battery to the circular saw.

  • Never place your hands within the ‘No Hands Zone’ (at least 150mm away from the blade). Keep hands away from the path of the blade. (Fig.11)
  • Secure the workpiece firmly to the table and against the fence to prevent any movement.
  • Use a top hold-down clamp if possible but check that it is so positioned that it does not interfere with the path of the blade or other moving machine parts.
  • Avoid awkward operations and hand positions where a sudden slip could cause your fingers or a hand to move into the blade.
  • Before attempting a cut, make a ‘dry run’ with the power off so that you can see the path of the blade.
  • Keep your hands in position until the ON/OFF trigger switch has been released and the blade has completely stopped.

Starting and Stopping – (Fig. 12 – 12a)

  • To turn the saw on press the switch lock to the left. Hold the operating handle firmly and squeeze the switch trigger, (Fig.12)
  • Allow the blade to reach maximum speed. slowly lower the blade into and through the workpiece (fig 12a)
  • After completing the cut, release the switch trigger and allow the saw blade to stop rotating before raising the blade out of the workpiece. Wait until the blade stops before removing the workpiece.
NOTE: Check the tightness of the blade securing bolt before and after each use.

Cross-Cutting (Without Sliding Function) – (Fig. 13)

  • To see narrow pieces of wood, the slide function is not necessary. In these cases, ensure that the slide lock is screwed down to prevent the saw arm from sliding, (Fig. 13)
  • A crosscut is made by cutting across the grain of the workpiece. A 90° crosscut is made with the miter table set at 0°. Mitre crosscuts are made with the table set at some angle other than zero.
  • Pull on the release knob and lift the saw arm to its full height.
  •  Loosen the miter lock. Rotate the miter table until the pointer aligns with the desired angle. Retighten the miter lock.

**WARNING:** Be sure to tighten the miter lock before making a cut. Failure to do so could result in the table moving during the cut and cause serious personal injury.

  • Place the workpiece flat on the table with one edge securely against the fence. If the board is warped, place the convex side against the fence. If the concave side is placed against the fence, the board could break and jam the blade.
  • When cutting long pieces of timber, support the overhanging ends of the timber with the side extension arms, a roller stand, or a work surface that is level with the saw table.
  • Use the clamp assembly to secure the workpiece wherever possible.
  • It is possible to remove the clamp assembly by loosening the clamp assembly lock and moving it to the other side of the table. Make sure the clamp assembly lock is tight before using the clamp. Before turning on the saw, perform a dry run of the cutting operation to check that there are no problems
  • Press the switch lock to the left. Hold the operating handle firmly and squeeze the switch trigger. Allow the blade to reach maximum speed.
  • Slowly lower the blade into and through the workpiece.
  • Release the switch trigger and allow the saw blade to stop rotating before raising the blade out of the workpiece. Wait until the blade stops before removing the workpiece.

Cross-Cutting (With Slide Action) – (Fig. 14)

  • When cutting wide workpieces, first unscrew the slide lock, (Fig.14)
  • Pull on the release knob, raise the saw arm to its highest position, and slide it towards you.
  • Press the switch lock to the left. Hold the handle firmly and squeeze the switch trigger. Allow the blade to reach maximum speed. Press the release latch and slowly lower the blades into the workpiece and slides it away from you at the same time until the workpiece is cut.
  • Release the switch trigger and allow the saw blade to stop rotating before raising the blade out of the workpiece.
  • Wait until the blade stops before removing the workpiece.

Bevel Cut – (Fig. 15)

  1. A bevel cut is made by cutting across the grain of the workpiece with the blade angled to the fence and miter table. The miter table is set at the zero degrees position and the  blade is set at an angle between 0° and 45° to the left, (Fig. 15)
  2. Loosen the bevel lock and move the saw arm to the left to the desired bevel angle (between 0° and 45° ).
  3. Tighten the bevel lock.
  4. Repeat the steps for cross-cutting (with or without slide function).

WARNING: Always ensure that the bevel lock is fully tightened before making a cut.
Compound Mitre Cut

  • A compound miter cut involves using a miter angle and a bevel angle at the same time.
  • It is used in making picture frames, cutting moldings, making boxes with sloping sides, and roof framing.
  • Always make a test cut on a piece of scrap wood before cutting into the good material.
  • Use the slide action when cutting wide workpieces.

**WARNING:** It is important to support the workpiece properly and to hold the saw firmly to prevent loss of control which could cause personal injury. Place both hands on the saw as shown. Place the wider portion of the saw base on that part of the workpiece which is solidly supported, not on the section that will fall off when the cut is made. If  the workpiece is short or small, clamp it to a suitable support

**WARNING: Do not try and hold short pieces by hand.
WARNING: Never attempt to see with the Circular Saw held upside down in a vice this is extremely dangerous and can lead to a serious accident. Before setting the tool down after completing a cut, be sure that the lower guard has closed and the blade has come to a complete stop.
Adjustments
CAUTION: Always ensure that the battery is disconnected from the circular saw before carrying out any maintenance or adjustments.
NOTE:** You can depress the lock-off button from either the left or right side. Always let the blade reach full speed, then guide the saw into the workpiece.
