Product Information

The FRS (Family Radio Service) device is designed to provide wireless communication between users within a certain range. It complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules, ensuring that it does not cause harmful interference and accepts any interference that may cause undesired operation. The device is not intended for modification and any unauthorized changes or modifications may void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. It is important to note that modifying this device to receive cellular radiotelephone service signals is prohibited under FCC rules and federal law. The device also complies with FCC radiation exposure limits for an uncontrolled environment.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Do not use the device if the antenna shows obvious damages.
  2. Hold the transmitter approximately 25 mm away from your face during communication.
  3. Speak in a normal tone with the antenna pointed up and away.
  4. For body-worn configuration, use the supplied belt clip. Other accessories may not comply with radiation exposure limits.

Note:

  1. For the purpose of saving battery power, when the screen is on and there is no operation for 10 seconds, the screen will turn off the bright screen state (the backlight mode is selected by default and cannot be changed).
  2. Press any button to wake up the screen to brighten the screen (default backlight mode,cannot be changed).
  3. Enter the menu option, it will automatically exit the menu option after 10 seconds of no operation.

Select channel

  1. Short press the key to enter the channel selection mode.
  2. Short press the or key to switch channels, and long press the up and down keys to quickly browse channels.
  3. Short press the PTT button to confirm and exit the menu.
  4. Short press the to key to continue setting.

Select CTCSS/DCS

  1. Short press the ISI key to enter the tone selection mode.
  2. Short press the or button to  select the CTCSS/DCS decoding, and long press the up and down keys to quickly browse the CTCSS/DCS.
  3. Short press the PTT button to confirm and exit the menu.
  4. Short press the [W key to continue setting.

NOTE: CTCSS/DCS can minimize interference by blocking transmissions from unknown sources. The walkie-talkie has 159 CTCSS/DCS codes.

VOX

  1. Short press the MINY button, when the VOX icon is displayed on the LCD screen, connect the audio accessory and display VOX icon.
  2. Press the Or key to select the voice control sensitivity level, and long press the up and down keys to quickly browse the voice control level.
  3. Short press the PTT button to confirm and exit the menu.
  4. Short press the 4 key to continue setting.

Note: When using VOX, there is a short delay (about 3 seconds).

3=Low sensitivity, suitable for noisy environment

2=medium sensitivity, suitable for most environments
1=high sensitivity, suitable for quiet environment

Set call tone

  1. Short press the Lock key, the icon will be displayed on the LCD screen.
  2. Short press or to switch the call prompt, and long press the up and down keys to quickly browse.
  3. Short press the PTT button to confirm and exit the menu.
  4. Short press the to key to continue setting.

Note: When setting the same channel and CTCSS/DCS. short press the key the icon cou key, the icon will be displayed on the screen, and the receiving end will receive a call tone prompt.

Keyboard sound

  1. Short press the key, the icon 2 will be displayed on the LCD screen
  2. Short press or to select on/off.
  3. Short press the button to confirm and exit the menu.
  4. Short press the W key to continue setting.

Note: When the volume of the walkie-talkie is adjusted, the key tone will also change with the increase/decrease. When the walkie-talkie is muted, the icon will be displayed on the screen.
Roger beep

  1. Short press the key, the icon # will be displayed on the LCD screen.
  2. Short press or I to select on/off.
  3. Short press the PTT button to confirm and exit the menu.
  4. Short press the key to continue setting.

Transmit and receive

  1. Hold the walkie-talkie 2-3 cm away from your mouth.
  2. Long press the PTT key during talking, and the LCD screen will display the transmit icon icon . Release the PT button to receive, when the walkie-talkie receives a signal matching the channel, the LCD screen will display receive icon *

Battery level display
The battery power display icon Ah (0-3 grids) shows the current remaining battery power. When the battery shows that there is no bar, it will send out a “crack” prompt every 15 seconds. When the power is lower than 3.1V, it will automatically shut down.

Battery capacity maintenance

  1. When not in use, charge the lithium battery once a month.
  2. When storing, remove the battery from the walkie-talkie.
  3. Store lithium batteries in a place with a temperature between -20°C and 35°C and low humidity, avoiding moisture wet conditions and corrosive materials.

Scan

  1. Long press the key, and the screen will display the , icon to start scanning.
  2. When the channel detected by the walkie-talkie matches the current channel number and CTCSS/DCS, the walkie-talkie will stop scanning. Scan and answer the message of the other party. After the other party stops talking, you need to press the PTT key to respond within 3 seconds, otherwise the scanning will continue.
  3. Press the PTT button within 3 seconds after the end of the transmission, you can talk.
  4. Short press the PTT key to exit the scan.

Monitor
Monitoring is generally better when the other party’s signal in the current channel is poor or intermittently pressed. Short press the button to turn on the monitoring function, and then press the   button to turn it off.
Group call channel
The current receiving state of the walkie-talkie is dual watch mode: current channel mode and group call channel mode.

  1. Press the Group key to transmit, the screen will display channel 16; the screen of the receiver will also display channel 16, press  Group to talk.
  2. When the walkie-talkie is left unattended for 3 seconds, it will automatically exit the group call and return to the current channel, thus avoiding miss key information and improve the communication efficiency of both parties in the call.

Note: Dual watch is turned on by default after the walkie-talkie is turned on, and it cannot be turned off. Press the key to transmit on the current channel, and press the Group key to transmit on the group call channel. Channel 16 is a fixed waiting channel and cannot be changed.

Remove/recover channel CTCSS/DCS
Hold down the button and press the power button at the same time to restore the factory setting CTCSS/DCS.
Keyboard lock
Long press the key, the icon will be displayed on the screen, and the keyboard will be locked. After the keyboard is locked, only , Group can be operated, and then long press the w7 key to unlock the operation. Weather forecast (NOAA)

  1. Press and hold the button, when NOAA is on, squelch is on, and the NOAA icon will be displayed on the screen
  2. Short press the key to enter the weather forecast mode. Press or to change weather forecast (NOAA) Channel, long press the up and down keys to quickly browse channels, and short press  to start scanning channels.
  3. In the weather forecast mode, short press the  key and the current weather forecast channel is flashing, then short press key OF is flashing, press the or key to turn on/off the weather forecast automatic warning.
  4. Press the button to confirm the weather forecast channel, and then press the PT button to exit NOAA.
  5. Channel talking is disabled in NOAA enabled mode.

Note: The weather forecast (NOAA) needs the support of the country or region where it is located.

Troubleshooting Guide

**Question** **Solution**
No power The battery pack may be exhausted. Please replace the battery pack

or recharge it. The battery pack may not be installed correctly, please remove it and install it again.

Battery power doesn’t last long after charging

| The battery pack has reached the end of its life, please replace it with a new one.
Cannot chat with other members of the group| Make sure you are using the same frequency and CTCSS/DCS as other members of the group. Other members of the group may be too far away. Confirm that you are within the effective range of other walkie-talkie.
Other (non-group member) voices appear in the channel| Please change CTCSS/DCS settings, be sure to change the settings of all walkie-talkie in the group.
