- Always inspect the instrument(s) before use, and discard (it) them if there are any visible defect(s).
- The number of canals to be treated with a XP-endo® Rise instrument is limited to a maximum of 8 root canals.
- Use the instruments XP-endo® Rise in the order of the sequence. Start with the glide path and then the shaping of the canal.
- Irrigate the canal thoroughly and frequently after the XP-endo® Rise instrument is extracted.
- Regularly inspect the XP-endo® Rise instrument during use, and discard if it shows any signs of wear (for example : straightening).
- If the XP-endo® Rise instrument is not progressing easily, remove it from the canal, clean it, inspect its cutting edges, then irrigate the canal and recapitulate with an ISO 010 hand file.

Protocol for use
Speed : 1000 rpm
Torque : 1 Ncm
-
Create straight-line coronal and radicular access.
-
Use an ISO 010 hand file to explore the canal.
-
Determine the working length using a radiograph. In addition, electronical working length determination can be achieved.
-
Use the mechanized XP-endo® Rise Glider instrument to perform glide path until the working length is reached. The instrument XP-endo® Rise Glider are to be used with gentle strokes of 2-3 mm, applying very light apical pressure and allowing the instrument to progress passively along the canal. After 3 strokes, remove and clean the instrument, then irrigate ; recapitulate with an ISO 010 hand file.
-
Start the shaping procedure, applying your usual irrigation protocol.
-
Insert the tip of the XP-endo® Rise Shaper into the canal until resistance (Fig. 1), retract (tip loose) and start the motor.
-
Use long gentle strokes to progress down to working length (WL) (Fig. 2). If WL is not reached in 8 strokes, stop, irrigate, recapitulate, and proceed again. Do not use pecking motion ! Never force the instrument and always keep it spinning and moving while in the canal.
-
Once working length is reached, remove the instrument to avoid supplementary enlargement of the canal.
-
Irrigate the canal in order to eliminate suspended debris.
-
Choose a gutta percha point that is tight and seats at the correct WL. If 30/.04 is desired and does not fit, work the XP-endo® Rise Shaper for an additional 1-3 strokes.
-
Apply your usual disinfection protocol.
Once all the canals have been shaped, proceed with the deep cleaning (or disinfection) of the canals. For an optimal result, the use of the Finisher is recommended.
Once the cleaning of the canals is completed, proceed to the next phase of treatment : -
Obturate with gutta percha and sealer. TotalFill® BC Points™ and TotalFill® BC Sealer™ are recommended.
