DESCRIPTION

USE
The lift chain is intended to be used with a ceiling-mounted lifting device, for lifting irregular loads such as car engines with the gearbox installed. The product makes it easier to lift loads with a displaced centre of gravity, and allows adjustment of the angle of the load.
Before each use
- Read all the instructions and safety instructions and familiarise yourself with the product’s controls and how the product is used.
- Check that the load is securely and correctly attached.
- Always maintain a firm footing and good balance when using the product.
- Check that the load can move freely and does not collide with any obstacles.
- Tension the chains carefully and check the balance of the load. Lift a few centimetres and check the load’s attachment before continuing.
- Do not allow the load to oscillate.
- Keep onlookers at a safe distance from suspended loads.
- Warn onlookers when the load is to be moved.
- Do not expose the lifting chains to welding spatter or other contaminants.
- Check the product regularly and replace damaged and/or worn parts. Note any conducted maintenance measures.
Use
- Remove all joints holding the engine and gearbox in place in the vehicle.
- Hang the lift chain in the lifting device above the engine, and secure the L-shaped connectors to the ends of the chains by the engine’s cylinder head screws (one on either side at the front, one on either side at the back). Tension the chains carefully using the lifting device.
- Lift a few centimetres and check the balance of the load.
- Move the mounting on the lifting beam by turning the pin bolt using the handle.
- Carefully lift out the engine and the gearbox.
- Turn the handle to one side or the other to angle the load so that it can be removed easily.
- Repeat the above steps in reverse order to reinstall the engine and gearbox.
- Always check that all connections are secure and correctly tightened before lifting.
