Levenhuk Wezzer PLUS LP140 Weather Station
The kit includes: display console, DC adapter, wireless 5-in-1 outdoor sensor with a rain funnel, wind direction vane with 1 screw, wind speed cups with 1 screw, mounting pole with 4 screws, mounting brackets with 6 screws, 2 rubber pads, 2 screwdrivers, user manual, and warranty card.

Caution! Please remember that mains voltage in most European countries is 220—240V. If you want to use your device in a country with a different mains voltage standard, remember that use of a converter is absolutely necessary.

Wireless 5-in-1 outdoor sensor

Secure the sensor onto a mounting pole (6) and the pole on the bracket (7) using the screws.

To install the wind speed cups (5), align the screw holes in the cups with the flat side of the metal rod and screw it on tight.

Insert the wind direction vane in the metal rod and screw on tight to lock it in place.

Align the notches on the funnel (4) with the lock grooves inside the rain collector. Insert the funnel and lock it in place by rotating it clockwise.

Slide the switch on the battery compartment (11) into the “unlocked” position and open the cover.

Insert the batteries according to the +/— polarity.

Close the battery compartment cover and slide the switch into the “locked” position.

ATTENTION! When choosing the location for installing the outdoor sensor, keep in mind that the rain funnel requires periodic cleaning. Place the sensor at least 1.5m away from buildings. Choose a place for it in an open space with direct access to sunlight. For reliable data transmission, the distance between the sensor and the weather station should be up to 150m. To avoid interference, make sure the sensor and the main base are 1—2m away from household devices operating on the same frequency.

  • Pick a convenient location to install the 5-in-1 outdoor sensor. The kit includes mounting brackets for installment on a vertical or horizontal surfaces, as well as on your own mounting pole.

  • Lock the sensor in place tight to avoid it shaking in a windy weather, as it may negatively impact precipitation readings accuracy.

  • Tighten the mounting brackets (7) to the surface/wall using 4 included tapping screws, or attach the mounting pole to your existing one with the included M5 bolts and nuts. Attaching to a mounting pole requires using the included rubber pads.

  • Install the outdoor sensor so that the rain funnel faces north and the solar panel faces south. Use a compass for precise positioning.

  • Use the bubble level (3) to horizontally level the sensor. If it’s not level, the reading of UV and light intensity will be inaccurate.

  • To correct the horizontal level of the outdoor sensor, loosen the screws on the mounting pole (6). Adjust the level so that the bubble is in the middle of the level, and tighten the screws.

  • The standard direction for the wireless outdoor sensor is north, which provides the most accuracy in the Northern Hemisphere. However, if you are located in the Southern Hemisphere, the sensor needs to be pointed to south.

  • Select the STH mode in the clock settings (refer to the “Clock setup” section).

Weather station
Plug the power adapter into the weather station power jack (9). Insert 3 AAA alkaline batteries for backup power, maintaining the polarity.

ATTENTION! The DC adapter is recommended to power the main base. Batteries are used only as backup power reserve.

Pairing with the wireless 5-in-1 sensor

  • Once your weather station powers on, it should automatically search for and connect to the wireless sensors.
  • If connection is not established within 10 minutes, retry pairing mode by removing and reinserting the power plug.
  • You will see the blinking icon on the base screen, displayed in the temperature/humidity segment (1). Once the pairing process completes, the antenna icon will appear solid (not flashing), and the readings for outdoor temperature and humidity, wind speed, wind direction, and rainfall will appear in their designated segments of the screen. The station has entered normal display mode.
  • If after a reset or reboot of the station the connection to the sensors fails, press and hold the CHANNEL button for 2 seconds to enter pairing mode. This will let the station automatically re-register sensors.

Setting up Wi-Fi and weather server connection

  • An active 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network is required.
ATTENTION! The weather station provides regular transmission of current readings to the WeatherUnderground (https://www.wunderground.com) and Weathercloud (https://weathercloud.net) servers, with a stable Internet connection and the appropriate settings. To use this function, you must register the weather station on the aforementioned sites by creating a personal account (free) and receiving a weather station ID and access key. Both weather servers allow you to receive current weather data from your weather station in real time and view historical data from any part of the world via the Internet.

  • Press and hold the BARO/—/ button for 3 seconds. The station’s LCD screen will show the AP icon to signify it has entered the Access Point mode (AP) and is ready to SET up Wi-Fi connection.

  • Use your smartphone, tablet, or computer to complete the following steps:

    • Open the Wi-Fi settings on your PC or Android/iOS device. To do so, go to settings and select Wi-Fi settings.
    • Locate the weather station SSID from the list. It should appear as WWS-XXXXXX (where all the X’s are integers) in the list. Tap on the SSID to connect.
    • Once you are connected to the weather station, open up your internet or mobile web browser, and enter the following address into the address bar: http://192.168.1.1 to access the weather station web interface. (Make sure to include the http://or else the web browser may interpret the address as a search query.)
    • In the web-interface, fill out the required information in the SETUP tab. Make sure all information is entered correctly before saving. If you do not plan to use Wunderground.com and/or Weathercloud.net, remove the corresponding checks.

Weather station web-interface (SETUP tab)

ATTENTION! To automatically synchronize the time in your time zone, change the time zone setting in the TimeZoneSetup section of the SETUP tab. The default is “+0:00”. You must specify your time zone. If daylight saving time is in effect for your country, activate the corresponding checkbox.
Press APPLY to save the information filled in this tab.

ATTENTION! The ADVANCED tab contains options for calibrating sensors, but this requires specialized knowledge. In daily operation of the weather station, it is not recommended to independently calibrate most sensors, with the exception of relative pressure indicators, which strongly depend on altitude above sea level.

  • To finish setup press and hold the BARO/—/ button on the weather station for 3 seconds. The station will exit the Access Point (AP) mode and connect to your Wi-Fi network with all your changes saved.
  • Wi-Fi connection status is displayed on the LCD screen. Flashing icon means unstable Wi-Fi signal or active attempts to connect to the router.
Missing icon means the weather station is not connected to a Wi-Fi router. Constantly on icon means stable connection to your network.

  • To reset the 5-in-1 outdoor sensor, press the RESET button on the sensor body or reinstall the batteries.

Maintenance

Rain gauge cleaning
Clean every 3 months. Rotate the funnel counterclockwise and lift to access the rain gauge mechanism. Wipe with a damp cloth to remove dirt, debris, and insects. For insect problems, lightly spray with insecticide.

Solar panel cleaning

Clean every 3 months with a damp cloth.

Battery replacement
Replace every 1—2 years. In harsh environments, check every 3 months. Batteries may leak when used for too long.
When replacing batteries: Apply a corrosion inhibitor, available at most hardware stores, to the battery terminals.

In snowy conditions
Spray the top of the weather station with anti-icing silicone spray to prevent snow accumulation.
