Remove the ash vacuum out of the packing and check all parts for damage in transit. Dispose of packaging materials or store them out of reach of children. Plastic bags etc. may become a deadly toy for children. The ash vacuum is designed for removing cold (amber-free) ashes from fireplaces and for sucking coarse dirt. Any other use not described in this manual is considered as inappropriate use and may damage the ash vacuum.
Preparation
-
Attach the wheels to the ash tank if they are desired.
-
Open the ash vacuum and remove all accessories. Insert the aluminum tube (6) into the suction hose (10).
-
Insert the suction hose (10) into the provided suction flange (4) of the ash tank (9). To lock the suction hose turn clockwise.
Attention: In order not to damage the suction hose (10) do not turn in the opposite direction and do not bend the hose on the hose connection! -
Place the filter (11) tightly onto the motor on the top part and secure it with the wing nut.
Before switching on the ash vacuum make sure the filter is not damaged. -
Place the top part on the ash tank (9) and lock the lid
with the clamps (8). The ash vacuum is now ready for use. Make sure the suction opening of the aluminum tube is not blocked. A blockage may damage the appliance.
Switching ON and OFF
- Switch on the ash vacuum by pressing the ON/OFF button (2).
- To switch off the appliance, press the button again. Always pull the power plug from the mains when not using the appliance. When using the suction hose make sure the hose is not bent. This will damage the suction hose and the ash vacuum will lose its suction power. The suction hose must be placed that way so that it forms a natural curve while sucking.
Cleaning the Filter during Operation
When the suction power deteriorates the filter cab be shaken out during use by
a device integrated into the appliance. Press the filter cleaning button (3)
while the appliance is running. This function lengthens the service life of
the filter.
Emptying the Ash Tank and Cleaning the Filter
Clean the filter after each use. Empty the ash tank when the full indicator
next to the ON/OFF button (2) shows red or when the appliance loses its
suction power. Please note that cold ashes become encrusted on the filter
during vacuuming. This will block the filter and the motor will not be
properly aired.
- First, switch off the ash vacuum and pull the power cord before opening the ash tank.
- Tap the filter carefully to remove the ash from the surface. Preferably clean the filter outdoors by using a hand broom, compressed air, or similar
Replacing the Filter
The filter is reusable and should be cleaned after each use. Be careful when
cleaning the filter; make sure not to damage it. Replace a damaged and
completely worn filter with one of the same types. You can order a replacement
filter under article no. 88 91 59.
Cleaning the Ash Vacuum
- Switch off the ash vacuum and unplug from the power mains before cleaning the appliance.
- Clean the housing of the ash vacuum only with a dry lightly moistened cloth. Do not use chemicals or abrasives, in order not to damage the surfaces. Do not immerse the lid with the motor in water.
Storing
- Store the ash vacuum in a dry and cool place. Do not store the appli-ance close to heat sources such as heaters.
- Do not expose the ash vacuum to direct sunlight for an extended time. Extreme heat will damage the appliance.
