Product Information

The Elektrischer Flachtoaster (Electric Flat Toaster) is a household appliance designed to toast slices of bread, toast, and baps. It has a time adjustment knob, an ON button, and an OFF button. Usage Instructions

  1. Place the Elektrischer Flachtoaster on a level surface.

SAFETY NOTES

Please note the following safety notes to avoid malfunctions, damage or physical injury:

  • Please read this manual carefully and use the device only according to this manual.
  • Dispose of used packaging material carefully or store it out of the reach of children. There is a danger of suffocation!
  • Persons with limited physical, sensorial or mental abilities are not allowed to use the device, unless they are supervised and briefed for their safety by a qualified person.
  • Make sure the voltage corresponds to the type label on the appliance.
  • Never leave the appliance unattended while it is in use. Be very careful when the appliance is used in the presence of children.
  • The device is not intended for continuous professional operation. The device is intended to be used in closed rooms only and in similar applications such as: staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments; farm houses; by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; bed and breakfast type environments. The use in any other way is not considered as intended use.
  • Keep all parts of the appliance clean at all times as they come into direct contact with food.
  • Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid. If the appliance or the plug accidentally should become wet, disconnect the power cord immediately and have the appliance checked by an electrician before using it again. Never attempt to open the appliance yourself.
  • Never put any metallic objects into the grille openings of the appliance.
  • Be careful, the top grille will become very hot during use. There is risk of burns!
  • Do not operate the appliance with wet hands, on a damp floor or when the appliance itself is wet. Do not touch the power plug with wet hands.
  • Do not allow the cable to hang over sharp edges and keep it well away from hot objects and open flames (e.g. gas oven). Remove the plug from the socket only by pulling on the plug, never on the cord.
  • Do not use the appliance outdoors.
  • Always remove the plug from the power socket when the appliance is not in use and before cleaning it. Never use the cable to carry the appliance.
  • Do not toast bread slices which are wrapped in aluminium or plastic foils. CAUTION: bread can burn. Never use the toaster near or underneath curtains or other flammable materials.
  • Never cover the appliance during use.
  • Place the appliance on a level surface during use. Do not place the appliance in a sink, on a drip board or on any inclined surface. Do not allow the cable to hang down or to touch the toaster while using.
  • Should the unit become damaged do not use it any further and have it repaired by a professional or contact our customer service. Do not disassemble the unit or try repairing it yourself.

OPERATION

Intended Use

  • The device is designed to toast slices of bread, toast and baps for domestic purpose only.
  • It is not designed for processing other kinds of food or other objects. It is not suitable for commercial or industrial use.
  • Any further use or unauthorised changes (reconstruction, no original accessories) can lead to significant danger and are meant to be not in accordance with regulations.

Before first Use
Remove the appliance and the accessory out of the packaging. Keep packaging materials out of reach of children. There is risk of suffocation! Clean all parts of the appliance before using for the first time, as described in the chapter „Cleaning“. Before first use operate the toaster at least once on maximum heat without using any bread in order to clean the heater elements. Thereafter your toaster is ready to use. Never touch the top grille during operation. It becomes very hot when the appliance is in use.

Toasting Bread

  1. Connect the plug to the power mains. Use the time adjustment knob (1) to set the desired degree of browning.
  2. Press the ON button (4). The control LED turns on and the toaster starts heating.

Please note that frozen, dry and fresh bread require different toasting times. After the set time, a signal sounds and the toaster turns off. You can also use the OFF button (2) to turn the toaster off to abort prematurely.

Caution:
Roasted products can be very hot after toasting. Risk of burns!

Crumb Removal
Crumbs are collected in the crumb tray (5). Remove the crumbs in regular intervals. The crumb tray can be pulled out of the toaster to the side for cleaning.

Cleaning
  • Before cleaning the toaster, pull the power cord from the wall socket. Do not pull the cable but grasp the plug itself to unplug.
  • Clean the outside of the housing with a moist cloth. Do not use aggressive chemicals or abrasives.
  • The crumb tray on the bottom should be cleaned in regular intervals. It can be pulled out of the housing for cleaning.
