Charging the battery

You have three options to charge the radio:

Solar panel

Expose the solar panel (13) to sunlight to generate electricity to charge the radio. This method is normally used to maintain daily operation and not as the main power source.

Hand crank
Unfold the hand crank (20) on the back of the radio and turn it clockwise or counterclockwise to charge the unit. Turn the crank for 3-5 minutes at a speed of 130-150 rpm if you are using the radio for the first time.

Micro USB
Connect the supplied Micro-USB cable to the Micro-USB input (17) on the right side of the radio. Connect the cable to a suitable power adapter (5 – 5.2 V, not included). Remove the power adapter after it is fully charged.

Note: The battery of the Lanty is removable so that a defective battery can be taken out to replace it with a new one.

Functions

POWER“ button (10)
Long press the „POWER“ button to turn the radio on/off.

BAND“ button (7)
Band selection: Turn on the power, short press the „BAND“ button and select between AM/FM/WB.

Alarm function:

Long press the „BAND“ button when the power is on to activate the alarm function. The radio will automatically search for NOAA emergency signals. When signals are received, the radio‘s flashlight and „SOS“ siren function are automatically activated.

VOL- and VOL+“ button (6/4)
After power on, you can use the „VOL-/VOL+“ buttons to adjust the volume.

UP and DOWN“ button (5/9)
Time reset: When the power is off, long press the „UP“ button to reset the time setting, including time system, hour and minute. Then press the „VOL and VOL+“ buttons to adjust the time specifically and press the „UP“ button to set;

Alarm time: Long press the „DOWN“ button to reset the alarm, press the „VOL and VOL+“ button to set the alarm time and alarm sound (tone/radio), and press the „DOWN“ button to confirm. Press any button to close the alarm clock.

Change station: Press the „UP / DOWN“ button briefly to scroll through the stations step by step. Long press the buttons to play the next receivable station.

SCAN/SLEEP“ key (11)
SLEEP function: When the power is off, long press the SLEEP key to set the auto power off time. Press this key briefly to display the remaining time until auto power off, and if the number „ZERO“ appears, it means the auto power off function is not activated yet; SCAN function: After power on, you can long press this button to search for stations, the radio can store the found stations automatically.

M+ and M- /LOCK“ button (3/8)
LOCK function: Long press the „M- /LOCK“ button to lock the radio, a „LOCK“ sign will be displayed, long press the button to unlock.When power on, press „M+“ or „M- /LOCK“ button to change the previously stored stations.

LAMP“ button (14)
Click the „LAMP“ button once to turn on the lamp in normal illumination mode. Click the „LAMP“ button twice quickly to turn on the flashing light mode.

SOS“ key (16)
SOS function: Long press this button to turn on the SOS function, the siren and LED light will be activated.
Press the key again to turn off the function.

Charging external devices via USB

The USB-A output (15) can be used to charge external devices with 5V when the battery level is sufficient.

Safety instructions:

  • Never open the device.
  •  Do not immerse the device in water and protect it from moisture.
  •  Never connect cables by force.
  •  Disconnect electronic devices from the mains if they will not be used for a longer time.
  •  Do not use the device if it shows visible damage.
