MAPerformance WRX-4G-DPC 1 MAP WRX Downpipe

What’s in the box?

• 1 MAP WRX Downpipe
• 1 3” Vband Clamp
• 1 M6 Cap Screw
• 1 M6 Nut
• 1 3” 2 Bolt Gasket
• 2 M10x1.25×40 Bolts
• 2 M10x1.25 Flange Nuts
• 1 Grimmspeed Flange adapter for stock exhaust (Optional)
• 1 Extension harness

Tools needed

You will need:

• 14mm socket
• 3/8ths ratchet
• 02 sensor wrench

Install Instructions

Step 1

Remove splash shield

Step 2

Remove lower Engine guard

Step 3

Disconnect Pre and post CAT 02 sensor connectors and remove them (22mm) from the downpipe

Step 4

Remove ground strap bolt, move ground strap aside

Step 5

Remove bracket and heatshield under water pump as pictured
(3 12mm and 2 14mm)

Step 6

Remove furthest forward downpipe heat shield

Step 7

Remove 4 downpipe nuts, use of extensions and swivel sockets will make this much easier (14mm nuts)

Note- impact tools, heat and penetrating oil will make this part much easier and will aid in not snapping the studs, it is however common that the entire stud will pull out and not just the nut. This is fine.

Step 8

Remove trans bracket bolt (14mm)

Step 9

Remove spring bolts x2

Step 10

Remove the old downpipe, this may require 2 people and some wiggling

Step 11

Slide front half of downpipe into place, do not install nuts just yet

Step 12

Install lower bracket you removed earlier and thread the bolts in by hand

Step 13

Reinstall downpipe bolts (and studs if need be) by hand

Step 14

Slide 3 inch vband clamp over front downpipe half

Step 15

Place rear half of downpipe onto trans hanger bracket, do not install the bolt yet

Step 16

Connect both ends together via vband camp

Step 17

Install 2 bolt gasket and bolts into the 2 bolt flange (we have opted to also use a grimmspeed adapter)
Note it may be needed to use an adapter to adapt our downpipe to the factory Catback

Step 18

Reconnect front 02 sensors with the included bracket
