Safety instructions

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS

1. The plastic foils and bags pose a suffocation hazard! Keep children and animals away from the packaging material.
2. Risk of strangulation! Make sure that the connector cables are always out of the reach of small children and animals.
3. This product is not a toy! Keep children and animals away from the product.
4. Place the cables so that they do not pose a tripping hazard.
5. Do not look directly into the light source! Your eyes could be injured.
6. Always mount the product on a dry surface at a sufficient distance to flammable objects and sources of heat like stovetops, ovens and heaters. Do not place any open flames, e. g. burning candles, in the direct vicinity of the product and the cables.
7. Do not place any containers filled with liquids, e.g. vases, on or directly next to the product and the cables.
8. Do not subject the product and cables to extreme temperatures, severe changes in temperature or direct sunlight.
9. Do not place any heavy objects on the product and cables.
10. Only connect the product to a device that complies with the product’s technical specifications. (5 V DC, 0.5 A)
11. Makes sure that the connector cables do not get pinched, kinked or laid over sharp edges and do not come into contact with hot surfaces.
12. If the product and cables exhibit visible damages, the product should not be used. Do not use the product if it had a malfunction or liquid has penetrated the product.
13. Do not expose the product to severe shocks.
14.  Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning products to clean the product. They could damage the surface. When needed, wipe the product off with a soft, dry cloth.
15. Keep the product and the cables away from water or other liquids. If the product does fall in water, immediately disconnect the power supply. Do not attempt to pull the product out of the water when it is connected to a device which in turn is connected to the mains supply.
16. Never touch the product or the cables with wet hands.
17. Pull the product out of the power supplying device or the mains plug of the connected device out of the socket:
    • When you are not using the product.
    • If a fault occurs during operation.
    • Before a storm.
    • Before you clean it.
18. Do not make any modifications to the product. It is also not allowed to replace the connector cables yourself. Only have the product and the cables repaired by a qualified workshop. Contact customer service if necessary. Improper repairs could pose serious risks for the user.
19. This product may not be connected to a power supply while being pasted and assembled in place.
20. The product is designed for private use and is not intended for commercial use.

Product information

Proper use

• This product is suitable for use as a LED strip or as a backlight LED for TV sets or similar.
• GAM-114 can be used for all sizes of monitors and TV’s. Place the LED strips on the backside, close to the edge of the TV for optimal experience.
• On large TV’s it might be more suitable to place the LED strips on the backside further away from the edge, and closer to the center of the TV.
• On large TV’s we recommend using 2 GAM-114 for a better experience.
• The product is exclusively designed for use in dry indoor spaces.
• The device is not suitable for use in damp spaces, e.g. bathrooms.
• Only use the product as instructed. Any other use is deemed improper.
• Defects arising due to improper handling, damage or attempts at repair are excluded from the warranty.

This also applies to normal wear and tear.

USAGE

1. Turn on the LED strip by pushing the “on” button on the remote control.
2. Select the desired color or the desired effect and push the corresponding button on the remote control. Please note that the color settings are mixed colors. For this reason the color tints may exhibit minor deviations. Even white light from this product is a mixed color and not a pure white color tint.
3. Set the desired color brightness using the buttons to increase/decrease the intensity of color.
4. Push the “off” button to turn off the LED strip.

Assembling the LED strip

Assembling is possible with just 1 person, but we recommend 2 people helping each other with the assembling. Do not connect to power/mains supply until step 6.

1. Unpack all parts and make sure that the product contents are complete, see “product in-formation” chapter and check for any damages from transport on the product parts, do not use them, instead contact customer service.
2. Visualize the placement.
3. Test the placement by placing the assembled LED strip into desired location. So you can see if your placement works as you intended. (Length and proximity of USB power source for example.)
4. In order for the LED strips to adhere, the surface they are pasted onto must be smooth, dry and free from dust, grease and dirt.
5. Carefully remove the protective foil of a LED strip and paste it on the desired area. Follow the same steps for the other LED strips.
6. Connect the USB cable to the USB port of the desired device (television/USB charger or similar).
7. The LED strip is now ready for operation.
8. Make sure the infrared sensor is not blocked. When using the remote control, point the re-mote control towards the LED strip.

Replace the remote control battery

On first use, the battery for the remote control has already been inserted. You only have to remove the transport guard.

1. The battery compartment is located on the narrow side of the remote control. Pull it out as shown.
   • A. Push
   • B. Pull
2. Remove the empty battery and insert a new CR2025 battery (3V). The positive terminal must point upwards.
3. Put the battery compartment back in the remote control so that it locks in place.

Troubleshooting

If the product is not working properly, please check whether you are able to rectify the problem yourself. Do not attempt to repair a defective electrical product yourself. If the light does not turn on, please check:

1. Whether all cables are properly connected with one another.
2. Whether all LED strips are properly aligned (all arrows are pointing in one direction).
3. Whether the connected power supply device is properly connected with the mains power socket.
4. Whether the mains power socket is defective. Try another mains power socket.
5. The fuse for your mains power connection.
6. Whether the battery in the remote control is empty.
7. Whether the remote control is within range, it has a range of 8 meters.
