Features
Model TM-45 is a powerful 45 W megaphone with a siren to be switched on. It
can be operated with batteries or via an external 12 V power supply.
The megaphone is supplied with a handheld microphone. The adjustable AUX input
also allows the connection of an audio unit, e. g. radio recorder, CD/MP3
player, etc.
The megaphone can be placed as desired or mounted onto a stand via the M8
threaded hole [(1) in fig. 1].
Power Supply of the Megaphone
Power can either be supplied via batteries or an external 12 V power supply.
When an external power supply is connected, the inserted batteries are
switched off.
During operation, the LED indicator “BATTERY” (3) shows the battery status:
LED is green: sufficient power
LED is red: low power (e . g . when the batteries are almost discharged)
Inserting batteries
- Firmly press down the latch (6) of the battery compartment: The cover will open.
- Remove the plastic container from the battery compartment and insert ten 1 .5V batteries (size D). Observe the correct polarity (see the imprint on the container).
- Insert the container with the batteries into the battery compartment and push hard to close the cover so that the latch will be locked.
If the megaphone is not used for a longer period (e . g . more than a week), remove the batteries so that the megaphone will not be damaged in case the batteries should leak.
Never put batteries in the household waste. Always dispose of the batteries in accordance with local regulations.
External power supply
To connect an external 12 V power supply, e. g .12 V power supply unit, or 12
V battery, remove the protective cap from the jack “DC-12V” (7), and connect
the power supply via a low-voltage plug 5 .5 mm / 2 .1 mm (outside / inside
diameter).
The positive pole must be at the center contact of the plug.
A 12 V car battery whose negative pole is connected to the ground can also be
used as an external power supply. For this, connect the adapter cable provided
to the jack “DC-12V” and to the cigarette lighter socket in the car .
For optimum electric contact, make sure that the socket is free of cigarette
ashes. If necessary, clean the socket with a soft, dry cloth.
Operation
Operation with a microphone
-
Connect the microphone provided to the megaphone: connect the plug of the microphone cable to the jack “MIC” (8) and tighten the nut of the plug to lock the connection.
