Barthelme 66000770 Wireless Control Unit

Barthelme-66000770-Wireless-Control-Unit-PRODUCT

INTRODUCTION

The wireless controller contains up to 5M channels (for modern RGBTW LED applications) and receives all control signal via a proprietary wireless communication standard.

USE FOR INTENDED PURPOSE

The control unit is designed for dry indoor areas. If the LEDs – provided they are suitable for this – are located outdoors or in damp areas, optional housings are required for this purpose. The control unit may only be operated with a power supply adapted to the LEDs. Devices other than LEDs (especially inductive devices such as motors or chokes) may destroy the device. If these previously mentioned points are not observed, a short circuit or electric shock may occur.

TECHNICAL DATA

  • Operating voltage: 12V DC to 36V DC
  • Protection class: III
  • Output current: max. 5A / channel
  • Dimensions: (L/W/H): 170 / 59 / 29 mm
  • Intrinsic current consumption (without LED): <20mA
  • Ambient temperature: -20°C ~ +50°C
    • (operation only in dry indoor rooms with sufficient air circulation for heat dissipation, not condensing)
  • Wireless frequency: 869.5 MHz
  • PWM frequency: 750 Hz
  • Protection class: IP 20

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

The device generates heat during operation. Sufficient air circulation must be ensured. The module has internal reverse polarity protection (with limited capacity); nevertheless, reverse polarity (even for a short time) can destroy the device. In case of improper operation, reverse polarity, modification of the device, or damage to property or persons caused by improper handling or non-observance of the safety instructions, we do not assume any liability and the warranty claim expires completely.] If the LEDs are located in humid areas (e.g. swimming pools, sauna, etc.), special attention must be paid to the applicable regulations regarding the power supply. The product may only be installed by a qualified specialist who is familiar with the applicable regulations (e.g. DIN, VDE, EN). This product is not a toy and does not belong in children‘s hands. LEDs can also become very hot! In any case, it is advisable not to exceed the specified maximum temperature of the illuminants, as this can have a lasting effect on the service life and light intensity of the LEDs.

Warning

  • LEDs can develop a very high light intensity, even when dimmed! Even dim LEDs can be very dangerous, especially when used in conjunction with optics.
  • Looking, directly into LEDs can cause irreparable damage to the retina of the eye. Use diffusers to diffuse the light.
  • Please note that LED light can change its intensity very quickly. Rapidly changinglight effects can affect perception, cause discomfort, or trigger seizures in people prone to epilepsy.

INSTALLATION

The electrical connection may only be, carried out by a qualified electrician who is familiar with the applicable regulations! Connection diagram see chapter 6.1.

Caution: Disconnect the power supply or the connecting cable from the power supply before carrying out any work!

MOUNTING LOCATION

Barthelme-66000770-Wireless-Control-Unit-
FIG-1

  • The product is suitable for floor, wall and ceiling mounting.
  • Make sure that the product is mounted on a stable, level, tilt-resistant surface. The device generates heat during operation.
  • Care must be taken to ensure sufficient air circulation.

CONNECTION

IMPORTANT

  • The power supply must be compatible with the LEDs used!
  • An unsuitable power supply can lead to malfunctions, unwanted flickering, overheating, destruction of the LEDs or destruction of the electronics.
  • We strongly advise against the use of non-stabilized cheap power supplies! We recommend in any case voltage supplies with switching power supply technology!
  • Also, special „LED“ power supplies are mostly unsuitable because they already contain control electronics for constant current, which downstream controllers cannot tolerate!
  • One power supply can also feed several modules at the same time. In this case, it is important to ensure that the power supply has sufficient power.
  • The modules should be supplied with at least 12 V DC, the maximum permissible voltage is 36 V DC.

IMPORTANT: The power supply must have an appropriate pulse load capacity. Unstabilized or too weak power supplies can cause flickering during color transitions.

This device is a CV device. „CV“ stands for „Constant Voltage“. This model has no current limitation. It passes the supply voltage directly to the LED strips. So if the LED strip needs 24 V DC, this must also be provided as voltage by the upstream power supply.

NOTE: In practice, LED strips with 12, 24and 48 V DC are common. For this device, 12 and 24 V DC strips can be used. LED strips can sometimes require very high currents, depending on their length. This controller can switch up to 5 amperes per channel.

IMPORTANT: From a total load of the device of more than 20 A, the LED strips must be supplied directly from the power supply (with V+)!

OPERATION

Only operate the product when it is functioning properly. In the event of a fault, switch the product off immediately and do not operate it again until it has been checked by a qualified electrician. A fault is present if:

  • there is visible damage
  • the product does not work properly
  • there is smoke, fumes or audible crackling noises
  • overheating can be detected Repairs to the product or work on parts carrying mains voltage may only be carried out by qualified electricians.

WARNING
Danger to life due to electric shock!
To avoid malfunctions and fire hazards:

  • Do not cover the product. Do not impair the air circulation.
  • Do not hang or attach anything to the product, especially decorations.
  • Do not allow children to play with electrical products unsupervised! Children cannot always correctly assess dangers when dealing with electrical energy.

INITIAL COMMISSIONING

Barthelme-66000770-Wireless-Control-Unit-
FIG-2

Connect the devices to the power supply unit, as well as the LEDs, according to the drawings Fig. 2 and 3. Make sure that appropriate LED strips are connected to the control unit and that the correct power supply unit has been selected.

PAIRING AND UNPAIRING A REMOTE CONTROL

The pairing of remote control is described in the manual of the respective remote control. To unpair, press and hold the „learn button“ on the control unit for more than 3seconds until the status LED starts flashing. This means that the pairing has been deactivated.

SCOPE OF DELIVERY AND ACCESSORIES

Each control unit is supplied with (this) manual. It is part of the scope of delivery for the device and must be handed over to the end user.
