Function instruction

  1. When the mic or PC or cell phone is connected, it keeps lighting up green. This means the mic enters into operation status. Disconnect the USB cable. LED lights off. When the signal is overloaded, the LED turns green to red.
  2. Adjusts mic volume. Turn it to the right to increase the volume and vice versa.
  3. Adjusts headset volume. Turn it to the right to increase the volume and vice versa.
  4. Connects with 3.5mm stereo headset to monitor mic sound and PC sound.
  5. Used to connect with PC/cell phone.
    Note: to connect to an iPhone or iPad, you need to purchase an apple camera kit. We strongly recommend purchasing apple’s original camera kit, otherwise, there may be compatibility issues.

Installation instruction

  1. Unfold the stand. Turn the clip nut clockwise onto the top of the stand.
  2. put the side marked with “PC-K220USB” to the front to ensure the microphone is facing the audio source. Assemble the mic onto the clip. Adjust the microphone to a  proper angle. Tighten the mic clip nut to fix the microphone. It is recommended to put the mic front side upward and nut side down to prevent from mic damage due to dropping risk.   3. Connect data cable USB with mic, and the other end with PC/cell phone.
    iPhone needs the relative camera part to connect and Android cell phone needs a Type-C adapter to connect (buy additionally). Connect the headset with ∅ a 3.5mm connector of the mic. refer to the figure below:

Uninstallation instruction

  1. Uninstall the cable: firstly disconnection USB data cable. Refer to figure 1 below:
  2. Uninstall the mic: counterclockwise turn the clip nut and take out the microphone. Refer to figure 2 below:
  3. Uninstall the stand: hold the stand. Turn the mic clip counterclockwise and uninstall the clip from the stand top. Refer to figure 3 below:

Operation instruction

When operating PC-K220USB on a PC, you need to select TAKSTAR PC-K220USB as the audio item. Set Windows7 and MAC OSX as examples: After equipment connection and audio setting, turn on the video software/ webcast software/ Karaoke software. Adjust the mic volume and monitor volume to a proper level.

A. Windows 7 setting

  1. Connect the mini connector of the USB data cable with a mic, and the other end with PC USB. After the mic operation LED lights up, start the next step operation(if it does not lights up, refer to troubleshooting to solve the problem).

  2. After connection, the PC identifies USB equipment and installs the driver program. Select TAKSTAR PC-K220USB as audio equipment. Refer to the figure below:

  3. Set TAKSTAR PC-K220USB as the default recording equipment. Refer to the figure below:

  4. Set the volume to 100%. After finishing the steps mentioned above, save it and confirm and exit. Refer to the figure below:

B. MAC OSX setting

  1. Connect mini connector of USB data cable with mic, and the other end with PC USB. After the mic operation LED lights up, and starts the next step operation (if it does not lights up, refer to troubleshooting to solve the problem).

  2. After connection, the PC identifies USB equipment and installs the driver program. Select TAKSTAR PC-K220USB as audio equipment. Firstly select the system preferences setting. Refer to the figure below:

  3. Click SOU ND to enter into the Sound preference panel. Refer to the figure below:

  4. Click the input item, and select TAKSTAR PC-K220USB as the default audio input equipment. Refer to the figure:

  5. Click OUTPUT and select TAKSTAR PC-K220USB as the default audio output equipment. Generally, the item will match automatically. Refer to the figure below:

  6. After finishing the steps mentioned above, save it and exit.

C. iOS setting

  1. Connect the mini connector of the USB data cable with the mic, and the other end with the iPhone camera part (buy additionally), and then connect the iPhone camera part with the Lightning connector. When the mic operation LED lights up, start the next step operation (if LED does not light up, refer to the troubleshooting section to solve the problem. Refer to the figure.

  2. After connection, iPhone identifies USB equipment and set TAKSTAR PC-K220USB as default equipment.

C. iOS compatible mode
PC-K220USB mic can connect with iPad/iphone via USB for recording, webcast, and music appreciation.
If the iOS version is too low, it may lead to an incompatibility problem. This depends on the iOS system version. It is strongly recommended to buy the iPhone camera part. If the iPhone camera part connector has a bad connection, take out the cell phone cover. We recommend that you update the system to the latest version.
When the mic is incompatible with the connected iPad/iphone, the iPad/iphone detects the incompatible equipment, and displays “unsupported USB equipment”. In the new version of iOS, it displays the connected equipment name.
Note: PC-K220USB mic can be compatible with some Android cell phones. Due to too many Android system versions, the compatibility depends on the specific version.

Caution

  1. It is recommended to put the microphone 20-30cm away from the mouth.
    Too close distance leads to signal distortion, and too far leads to reduce S/N ratio.

  2. Do not hold the grille by your hand, otherwise, it affects the microphone picking up.

  3. It is best to fix the microphone on a stand for operation, but not hold the microphone by your hand because holding generates noise transmission and sweat corrodes the microphone.

  4. It is recommended to use a windscreen on the microphone to prevent pop noise.

  5. Try not to use the speaker cabinet as much as possible. If you need to use a speaker cabinet, put the microphone away from the speaker cabinet and do not point the microphone at the speaker to prevent feedback.

Troubleshooting

A. LED does not light up after the mic is connected.
Check if the data cable is connected well. Try to reconnect it and then check the result.

B. No sound when playing music

  1. Check if the mic has been connected well with the cell phone or PC.
    Reconnect and then try it.

  2. Check if the headset has been connected well. Reconnect and then try it.

  3. Check if the headphone has connected well. Reconnect and then try it.

  4. Check if the APP volume has been set too low. Adjust the APP volume and check the result.

C.Microphone has no sound

  1. Check if the mic has been connected well. Reconnect and then try it.
  2. Check if the volume of the microphone or earphone is set too low, and adjust the volume of the microphone or headset to see if it returns to normal status.

D. The mic sound can not be recorded or the recorded sound is too low

  1. Check if the mic is connected well to a PC or cell phone. Reconnect and check the result.
  2. Check if the mic volume in the software is set to a too low level. Adjust it and check the result.
  3. Check if the recording equipment volume is set to a too low level.
    Adjust it and check the result.

E.Cell phone webcast has two sound
Some cell phone APPs have no turning-off function for monitoring, This leads to two mic monitoring voices during a webcast. If so, set the cell phone volume to a minimum level.

Safety instruction

To avoid electric shock, over-temperature, catching fire, explosion, mechanical risk, and hurt or property loss caused by improper use, please read the following items carefully  before operation:

  1. Adjust the volume to the proper level during operation. Do not operate at over-power or high volume level for a long time to avoid hearing loss.

  2. If an abnormal phenomenon (smoke, abnormal smell) happens, please turn off the power switch and disconnect the power plug with power socket, and send the product to a local dealer for maintenance.

  3. The product and accessories should be put in a dry and ventilated place rather than a humid or dusty environment. Prevent the product from liquid, rain, water, over-colliding,  throwing, vibrating, vent hole covered to avoid function destroyed.

  4. When cleaning the equipment, use a soft dry cloth. Do not use paint thinner, solvent, cleaning liquid, or cloth soaked with chemical substances.

  5. Please abide by safety rules during operation. Do not use the product in a place prohibited by regulation or law to avoid accidents.

  6. Do not disassemble or repair the product by yourself to avoid hurt.
    If you have a question or need service, please contact the local dealer.

  7. Only use the designated accessories by the supplier.
