Rear Panel

  1. 3-Pin Mini XLR Interface: connects to devices such as teleconferencing system, mixer, and phantom power via XLR audio cable. TAKSTAR-MS300-Conference-Speech-Microphone-FIG-2

Bottom Panel

  1. Gain Selector: the default gear is “0” where gain setting is off; set to “+10dB” position to boost pickup sensitivity for farther distance pickup; set to “-10dB” position to lower pickup sensitivity for close range use. Select according to your use scenario.
  2. Low-Cut Switch: when set to “0”, mic is in normal sound pickup status; when set to “80”, it filters out breathing sound and plosives; when set to “150”, it filters out low-frequency environmental noise below 150Hz (e.g., traffic, air conditioner and vibration noise). Operation Instructions

How to Use

  1. Properly connect one end of the XLR output cable to the mic and the other to the input jack of an amplifier or audio equipment as shown in the following diagrams:
    • Connect to a track mixer with a 48V phantom power supply: TAKSTAR-MS300-Conference-Speech-Microphone-FIG-4
    • Connect to a mixer with a 48V phantom power supply: TAKSTAR-MS300-Conference-Speech-Microphone-FIG-5
    • Connect to a phantom power supply directly: TAKSTAR-MS300-Conference-Speech-Microphone-FIG-6
  2. Turn the volume of the amplifier and other audio equipment to zero before turning them and the mic on; then gradually increase their volume to an appropriate level.
  3. Recommended distance from the mic is about 20-50cm when speaking.

Troubleshooting

No sound from the conference mic:

  1. Check whether the conference mic is properly connected to the amplifier and audio equipment; please re-plug and retry.
  2. Check whether the connected equipment provides 48V phantom power and whether the 48V switch is set to “ON”.
  3. Check whether the mic volume of the connected equipment is set too low; adjust and see if it becomes normal.
  4. Replace the connection cable to rule out the cable problems.
