Dear customer, thank you for purchasing our product. Please read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep these instructions including the warranty, the receipt, and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.

GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • Never use the appliance if the power cord or power plug is damaged, if it is not functioning correctly or if it has fallen on the floor and been damaged, or if it has fallen into the water. In such cases take the appliance to a professional service center to verify its safety and correct function.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
  • Pay careful attention when handling the grill to avoid injury, (e.g. burns, scalding).
  • If the power cord of this appliance is damaged, the cord must be replaced by the manufacturer, their service technician, or by a similarly qualified person, this will prevent the creation of a dangerous situation.
  • Before replacing accessories or accessible parts, which move during operation, before assembly and disassembly, before cleaning or maintenance, turn off the appliance and disconnect it from the mains by pulling the power cord from the power socket!
  • Always unplug the appliance from the power supply if you leave it unattended.
  • When the appliance is in operation, prevent pets, plants, or insects to get in contact with it.
  • The appliance is not intended for operation with an exterior time switch or separate remote control system.
  • The product is intended for home use and similar (in shops, offices, and similar workplaces, in hotels, motels, and other residential environments, in facilities providing accommodation with breakfast). It is not intended for commercial use! Do not use outdoor.
  • After finishing work and before cleaning, always switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the power supply by taking the power cord connector out of the electric socket.
  • Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid), and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately. Do not put it in water.
  • Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you should leave the workplace, always switch the machine off or remove the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead).
  • Check the appliance and the cable for damage on a regular basis.
  • Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service, or by a qualified person with a cable of the same type.
  • Pay careful attention to the following “Special Safety Instructions for this unit“.

SPECIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR THIS UNIT

  • Operate the appliance only in accordance with the specifications on the rating plate.
  • Never use the appliance near hot surfaces.
  • Never use the appliance outside and place it always in a dry environment.
  • Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure (that) the cord cannot get caught anywhere. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
  • Make sure the cord never comes into contact with the hot parts of the appliance.
  • Place the appliance on a table or any other flat and even surface. It is recommended to use a heat-resistant and easy-to-clean pad underneath, also to protect the table or tablecloth from fat sprinkles, etc. The power cord must not dangle to prevent accidental pulling down of the appliance. Never pull the cord to move the appliance.
  • The temperature of the accessible surface may be very high when the appliance is in use. Never touch the surface during use.
  • Make sure (that) the appliance never comes into contact with inflammable materials, such as curtains, clothes, etc, when it is in use, as a fire might occur.
  • Be extremely careful, as oil or fat preparations might catch fire when overheated.
  • When using the appliance under an extractor hood, keep a safe distance between the hood and the appliance.
  • Use the appliance for food that is supposed to be cooked only.
  • Unplug the appliance immediately if a crack appears on the hot plate and make sure to take it to a qualified competent electrician.
  • Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance from the power supply.
  • Make sure (that) the appliance has cooled down before cleaning and storing.
  • When preparing food with your raclette always use the wooden spatulas supplied with the appliance or any other heat-resistant plastic spatula in order not to damage the non-stick coated surfaces of the cooking plate and pans.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

BEfORE THE fIRST USE

  • Clean the cooking plate and pans with sudsy water. Wipe dry. Then slightly cover the plate and pans with the cooking oil.
  • When using your raclette for the first time, do not put any foot onto the plate or pans.
  • Use the grill by instruction „Control“
  • There is an invisible protective coating applied on the heating element as part of the manufacturing process. This protective coating must be removed before you can use the appliance for the first time. In order to do this, set the thermostat button to the maximum setting and leave the cooker switched on for approximately 10 minutes. Make sure that the room is properly ventilated, as some smoke can occur. This is not a cause for concern; it is the process by which the protective coating is removed. Switch off the grill and let it cool down completely, the appliance is now ready for use.

CONTROL

  • First, check that the voltage marked on the product is the same as your supply voltage.
  • Select a suitable position close to an electric socket, on a dry and flat surface.
  • Make sure (that) the thermostat button is turned to the MIN setting. Plug in the appliance.
  • Switch ON the plate by the thermostat button and select the temperature. The plate has a range of various temperature levels. The light will go off when the plate reaches the selected temperature and it will turn on and off cyclically to maintain the same temperature.
  • Due to the plate’s construction, some residual heat will remain after switching off the appliance. This may be used to keep food warm for a short period of time after it has been cooked. After use, turn the thermostat button to MIN and unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Always unplug the appliance from the power source.
  • Clean the interior and exterior of the appliance by wiping with a damp cloth and then with a dry cloth.
  • Use neither detergents nor abrasives.
  • When the appliance is not used for a longer period of time, protect it from dust and store it in a clean dry place.

TROUBLESHOOTING

The device is not working

  • Check that the mains connection cable is firmly plugged in.
  • Check the position of the thermostat.
