Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can this unit be paired with Bluetooth in Honda Civic 2022 to play music through the car’s speakers?
The Bluetooth is separate from the player. It can be used in a car as long as you have an “audio in” port.

  • I get tape play but no sound. How do you get sound for tapes?. And what is the red button at end of the tape player buttons?
The red button is for recording to a blank cassette.

  • Can I connect wireless Bluetooth headphones?
Yes definitely with the Bluetooth adapter provided.

  • Is there any way to use a 12-volt plug for auto use?
I don’t know of a way to use a 12-volt plug for use in a vehicle. But the unit does use six C batteries as a secondary power source.

  • Will this play mp3 audiobooks and allow for pausing?
Unfortunately, I cannot answer your question as I no longer have the item. I suggest that unless by the written description or visually inspecting the item online can provide you the answers you need, don’t buy any item over the internet. Keep searching different electronic stores on the internet until you can verify by sight or by speaking to a sales representative directly, that the merchandise has the features that you are looking for.

  • Will it blue tooth wireless to a tailgate speaker?
The boombox itself is not bluetooth, it comes with a bluetooth adapter. The adapter goes to the Audio In port on the boombox and there is no Audio Out, so I doubt it would pair with a tailgate speaker. But I’m not 100% sure because I’ve never tried it.

  • How is the sound?
Just Okay. for books on tape or am radio pretty good. the whole unit fits in a shoe box so the small speakers are alright but not as good as old sony portables.

  • Is the screen backlit?
I bought this player as a gift for my brother. I’m not sure if the screen is backlit.

  • Is there a fast-forward button on the CD player?
There is a fast-forward on the cassette part of the player but not on the CD.

  • I have a blue tooth headset. Does it have a blue tooth?
Yes. The player has blue tooth capability.

  • Does it have output jacks?
It only has a headphone jack. I bought this and it lasted less than 6 months so even if it did have the output jacks you are looking for I’d really look at something else.

  • Can I use a Bluetooth transmitter with this unit?
You can use it as a Bluetooth speaker from a device like your phone.

  • How does the sound quality of this model compare with the CFD-s70 model, which comes without Bluetooth and is slightly larger?
The sound quality is not like a Bluetooth speaker, much more hollow and lower quality. Which makes no sense, but that’s how they built it.

  • Does the AC adapter plug into a wall outlet?
My model did not come with an AC adapter plug…..I’m exchanging the model for the same model that (hopefully) will record with the use of an exterior microphone. When I had the model it either came with an adapter plug or a regular AC plug.

  • Can Bluetooth connect to a sound bar to play its output thru the soundbar?
The bluetooth adapter that comes with the boombox is for Audio In. The boombox does not have an Audio Out port, so I doubt you could connect to a soundbar.

  • Are any of these made so you can transfer music from a cassette tape to your computer. ??
I never kept the item long enough to find out if it did or not. As soon as I determined that there was no external microphone, I returned the item to Amazon. I suggest finding and contacting Sony’s Customer Service telephone number and finding out from them. Be sure to include the model number.
