SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING: the polyethylene bags containing the product or its packaging constitute a hazard. Keep these bags well away from babies and children. Not to be used in cradles, cots, pushchairs or playpens. The fine film can adhere to the nose and mouth and prevent breathing. A bag is not a toy.

Suitable for use in the bath or under the shower.

WARNING: remove the power cable before cleaning the charging stand.

If using the device in a bathroom, the charging stands and d/ordevice adaptor must be kept away from any water source so that they do not fall into the water. For further protection, plugging a residual current device (RCD) into the bathroom electricity supply with a differential assigned operating current not exceeding 30 is advised. Ask your electrician for advice.

Only use the adaptor supplied to use or charge the device.

If the adaptor or power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons that it does not pose a hazard.

Do not use the device if it has been dropped or if it shows signs of damage.

Do not leave the device unattended when it is plugged in or switched on.

Do not use any accessories other than those recommended by BaByliss on the device.

Unless you are charging it, unplug the device every time you use it.

This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years upwards and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance safely and provided that they understand the hazards involved . Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be done by children without supervision.

To avoid damaging the cable, do not roll it up around the device and ensure that you store it without twisting or folding it.

Medium to short beard maintenance
Read the safety instructions first.
APPLIANCE CHARACTERISTICS
- Head with triple rotating blade for a clean, clear cut, even in the most inaccessible areas of the face and neck (1).

- from 0.4 mm to 10 mm in increments of 0.2 mm
- from 10 to 12 mm in increments of 1 mm.

- Clean button: for thorough cleaning of the appliance (5).

CHARGING THE APPLIANCE
- Plug in the charging stand.
- Place the appliance (in the off position) on the charging stand.
The LED screen lights up and, for a few seconds, indicates approximately how much use time remains. The display of the remaining use time continues to fl ash until reaching maximum capacity of 40 minutes.
Note:
- The appliance needs to be charged for 3 hours before first use. Subsequent complete charges should be 90 minutes.
- A full charge provides a 40 minutes’ use of the trimmer. A quick 5-minute charge lets you use the appliance for approximately 3 minutes.
- When the screen displays that there are 5 minutes of use remaining (“05”), the Timer symbol changes from orange to red and the display of the remaining use time display flashes meaning that the appliance needs to be charged (by placing the appliance in its charging stand).
USE
To start the appliance,

Ensure that the appliance head is perfectly clipped into place before use.

Press the button once.
The cutting length and approximate remaining use time are displayed. -
Select the desired cutting length using the + and – buttons.

Press the button a second time.
The motor is on. You can now start using the appliance. -
To switch the appliance off, hold down the button for approximately 2 seconds. The cutting length is set for the next use. Press the button twice to start the appliance again.
Note:
- The LED display screen switches off automatically after 60 seconds of disuse.
- It is possible to switch the appliance to standby mode by pressing the button once.
Tips:
- For your comfort, the appliance can be used in different directions. You can make circular movements or go backwards and forwards with the appliance over the face and neck. You will probably need time to get used to the appliance. But quickly, using the appliance will be comfortable and intuitive.
- If you want to go from a mid-length beard (±15 mm long) to a 3-day beard (approximately 1 mm long), it is advisable to cut it in several steps. For example: to go from a beard of 10 mm in length to one that is 1 mm long, first cut to 6 mm. Then, once this first stage is complete, cut to 1mm.
- For beards that are longer than 20 mm, it is recommended that you pre-cut your beard to about 15 mm in length before using the appliance.
- To trim your moustache or your sideburns with precision, ensure that you stretch the skin of the area to be trimmed and only use one rotating blade.
- To shape clean and precise contours, we recommend the use of a BaByliss beard trimmer and/or a finishing trimmer and/or a shaver.
CLEANING
To clean the appliance thoroughly

Check the appliance is on and press the Cleaning button . The appliance goes into its cleaning cycle:

The appliance head makes 3 back and forth movements to enable any hairs to be eliminated more easily. -
Gently shake the appliance above the sink to remove as much hair and residue as possible.

You can turn on the appliance using the button to increase cleaning efficiency under running water.

Place the appliance head under running water, alternating the head down and head up, while the appliance is still running, to effectively remove all remaining hair. Run the tap water over all gaps and each of the 3 head openings.
Note
- To extend the time that the appliance is cleaned under running water, you can press the Cleaning button twice to start the cleaning cycle again, once the first cycle has ended.
- If you want to stop the cleaning cycle, press the Cleaning button once to go back to the last cutting length selected. Clip the head back on to use the appliance again.
- We recommend cleaning the appliance after each use and before putting it away.
- If the LED display screen shows the Cleaning symbol when you press the button, this means that the appliance has not been cleaned following 15 minutes of continuous use. Press the Cleaning button and clean the appliance as described above.
- After cleaning, we recommend pressing the Parking button storage) to store the appliance.
- We strongly recommend adding a few drops of the oil that came with the appliance to the blades after use, in order to keep the appliance in optimum condition.
STORAGE

Check that the appliance is on and press the Parking button .

The Parking symbol is displayed on the LED display screen.
-
The appliance head unclips and goes back down, taking the combs with it, to go into the Parking position, which is the ideal position in which to protect the appliance’s blades and combs before storing.
Note
If the appliance has not been cleaned before you press the Parking button Cleaning symbol flashes, reminding you to clean the appliance before you store it. -
Then put the still-damp appliance away on its stand.
MEMORY FUNCTION
The appliance has a Memory function that saves the last cutting length chosen.
When the appliance is started up, the combs will automatically return to the
last selected cutting height. LOCKING
LOCKING
The appliance has a Locking function that prevents the appliance from being switched on and the buttons activated accidentally, for example during travel.

To activate the Locking function
Press and hold down the Parking button until the Lock symbol flashes.
The Locking function is activated.
Note: This may take approximately ten seconds.
The Parking symbol lights up.
The 3 combs will rise progressively.
The appliance head is unclipped and descends, bringing the combs with it. The Lock symbol flashes and the LED display screen turns off . -
To deactivate the Locking function
Press and hold down the Parking button until the display screen shows a 3 to 1 countdown; the Lock symbol fl ashes and the cutting length and remaining use time are displayed.
The Locking function has now been deactivated. You can now use the appliance again.
Note
• Locking is automatically deactivated when the appliance is placed in its stand.
• Locking can also be deactivated using the button.
CHANGING THE CUTTING HEADS
In order to maintain the performance of your product, we recommend that you
change the cutting heads every year.
A kit of three cutting heads and the necessary tools is available for sale in
shops or from the BaByliss Customer Service department under BaByliss product
code SH050E.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem | Possible cause | Solution |

button.
| The appliance has not been cleaned after 15 minutes of continuous use.|
Press the Cleaning button and clean the appliance as described in the chapter
on cleaning.
The appliance head does not unclip after having pressed the
Cleaning button or Parking button .
| The automatic head-raising mechanism of the appliance activated by the Cleaning button or Parking button is blocked by hair and
impurities.
| You can lift the head manually using 2 fingers to press simultaneously on the
notches on the front and backof the appliance.
|
| Then press the Cleaning button and place the appliance head under running
water as described in the chapter on cleaning, or the Parking button to store
your appliance correctly.
The appliance head lifts up during use and the motor stops.| The Cleaning or
Parking button has been pressed
accidentally during use.
| Press the Cleaning or Parking button so that the appliance returns to the desired position.
Note: if the appliance head has become unclipped, clip it in again.
