IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, especially when children and pets are
present, take basic safety precautions, including the following:

KEEP AWAY FROM WATER!
DANGER – As with most electrical appliances, parts are electrically live even
when the switch is off. To reduce the risk of death by electric shock:
- Always unplug appliance immediately after using.
- Do not use while bathing or in the shower.
- Do not place or store appliance where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
- Do not place in, or drop into, water or any other liquid.
- If an appliance falls into water, unplug it immediately. Do not reach into the water.
WARNING – To reduce the risk of burns, electrocution, fire, or injury to persons:
- This appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in.
- Do not pull, twist, or wrap line cord around appliance.
- This appliance should not be used by, on, or near children or individuals with certain disabilities.
- Use this appliance only for its intended use, as described in this manual. Do not use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer. Do not use an extension cord to operate appliance.
- Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water. Return the appliance to an authorized service center for examination and repair.
- Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
- Never use while sleeping.
- Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
- Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.
- Do not use an extension cord with this appliance.
- This appliance is hot when in use. Do not let heated surfaces touch eyes or skin.
- Do not place the appliance on any surface while it is operating.
- Do not touch hot surfaces of the appliance; use handles or knobs.
- Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, toilets or any other recipient containing water.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- Before plugging in, read the information about dual voltage contained in the “DUAL VOLTAGE” section of this manual.
- When the appliance is used in bathroom, unplug it after use since the proximity of water presents a hazard even when the appliance is switched off.
- For additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD), having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA, is advisable in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your electrician for advice.

- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure 0that they do not play with the appliance.
- Burn Hazard. Keep appliance out of reach from young children, particularly during use and cool down.
- When the appliance is connected to the power supply, never leave it unattended.
- Always place the appliance with the stand, if any, on a heat-resistant, stable flat surface.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance is intended for professional or household use. Use on Alternating Current (50-60Hz) only. Standard appliances are designed to operate at 120-240V~.
DUAL VOLTAGE
This flat iron has dual voltage. It will automatically adjust to the proper
voltage. Use an adapter plug (not included) with correct configuration, prior
to use in outlet.
GENERAL OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Plug the straightening iron into a standard electrical outlet. Press the button to switch the iron on.

The iron will automatically heat up to 265°F. Once it’s reached this temperature, the digital display will remain at 265°F.
NOTE: There may be a slight buzzing sound from the ionic port as it releases the ions. This is normal. -
Use the temperature buttons (+/-) to select the preferred temperature. There are 10 temperature settings to select from (265°F–450°F) for styling various hair types. Use the table above as a guide to find the correct temperature for your hair category. Always start with a lower temperature and increase gradually if required.

Once the preferred temperature has been selected, the digital display will flash 3 times and start heating up. When the chosen temperature has been reached, the iron is ready for use.

After use, press the button to switch off and unplug the iron.

Allow the iron to cool down fully before storing.

This iron is designed with a 60 minute shutoff. This option can be turned on or off using the slide switch on the bottom of the iron, near the hinge.
STYLING GUIDE
Straightening with rootreacher™
- Ensure hair is dry and combed through.
- Divide hair into sections and place one section between the plates, close to the roots.
- Use rootreacher™’s unique teardrop shape to get as close to the scalp as possible and gently glide the plates down the length of the hair for roots-to-ends precision straightening.
- Repeat as necessary through the remaining sections of your hair.
- Allow the hair to cool fully before combing through.

AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. WARRANTY WILL BE VOIDED.
TURN UNIT OFF AND UNPLUG WHEN NOT IN USE.
USER MAINTENANCE
lubrication is needed. Keep all vents and openings clear of dirt and dust. If cleaning becomes necessary, disconnect the unit from the power source, let it cool and wipe exterior with a cloth. If any abnormal condition occurs, unplug the unit, allow it to cool, and return it for repair to an authorized service representative only. No repairs should be attempted by the consumer.
CAUTION
NEVER allow the power supply cord to be pulled or twisted. Never wrap the cord
around the unit. Damage will occur at the high flex point of entry into the
unit, causing it to rupture and short. Inspect the cord frequently for
damage. Stop use immediately if damage is visible or if unit stops or operates
intermittently.
STORAGE
When not in use, your appliance is easy to store. Allow unit to cool, then
simply put back in the box, and store out of reach of children in a safe, dry
location. Do not jerk or strain cord at plug connections.

IF YOU THINK THE POWER IS OFF WHEN THE SWITCH IS OFF, YOU’RE WRONG.
