Introduction

Intended Use
– The appliance is intended for dehydrating foodstuffs only in a household environment. It is not intended for commercial use. This is suitable for kitchen bench-top use, thus indoors and in a dry area. Not suitable for use by children or persons with lack of physical dexterity or mental capacity.
Warnings and Safety Instructions
Please ensure that the packaging is kept out of the reach of children! Risk of suffocation!
Make sure to keep this user manual. Read the manual carefully before using your KitchenBrothers Food Dehydrator!
Hot surfaces are still hot after use
General
– Be aware of the risks and consequences resulting from misuse of the Food
Dehydrator. Misuse can result in personal injury, or destruction of the
product.
– Use the Food Dehydrator only for purposes described in this user manual.
– If the Food Dehydrator malfunctions, is dropped or (appears to be) damaged
in any manner, do NOT use it and contact Customer Service.
– The Food Dehydrator is designed and intended for private, non-commercial use
only.
Persons
– The Food Dehydrator should not be used by children, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way
and if they understand the hazards involved.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children. Keep the
appliance and its cord out of reach of children.
– The Food Dehydrator can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way
and understand the hazards involved.
– Children shall not play with the appliance. Keep the appliance out of the
reach of children.
Use
– The appliance is not intended for heating foodstuffs.
– The appliance is not intended for drying other products that are not related
to consumable food.
– Do not dry any greasy food on the food trays, the trays might fracture.
– The Food Dehydrator is not to be used as a room air circulator or room
heater.
– Place the Food Dehydrator on a stable, even, heat-resistant, and non-slip
surface.
– Leave a distance of at least 10 cm around the appliance and at least 60 cm
upwards to avoid damage from heat or steam.
– Do not place other heat sources near the Food Dehydrator.
– Do not enclose or place items in or on the Food Dehydrator, and do not cover
the device. Do not block the fan or the air vents.
– The appliance, drying trays and dried food will become hot during and after
use. Operate with attention, using an oven mitt to avoid skin burns when
removing the trays.
– Avoid contact with moving parts. Keep your hands, hair, clothing, spatulas
and other utensils away during operation to reduce the risk of injury to
persons and/or damage to the machine.
– Do not move the appliance whilst in use or when it is still hot.
Electronics
– Appliance is electrically connected, do not immerse any part in water or
other liquids.
– Protection should be provided to avoid exposure to moisture or water
splashes.
– In the event of having a part wet with water, remove the mains plug
immediately.
– Do not touch the device with wet or moist hands.
– Do not use aggressive cleaning agents when cleaning.
– Do NOT reconstruct, repair or disassemble the Food Dehydrator. This can
damage the device. For safety reasons, these parts may only be replaced by
authorized service personnel. In order to prevent hazards, always send the
Food Dehydrator to the service centre for repairs.
– Make sure your outlet supplies the correct power voltage to avoid damage to
the Food Dehydrator.
– Always check the power cord and plug before using the Food Dehydrator. Do
NOT operate the Food Dehydrator if the cord or plug are damaged. A damaged
cord or plug must be replaced by a qualified person in order to avoid damages
and personal injuries.
– When you are not using the Food Dehydrator, turn the device off and
disconnect the device from the power socket
– If the power fails during usage, turn off the Food Dehydrator immediately
and pull the plug from the socket.
– Do NOT disconnect the Food Dehydrator from its power supply by pulling the
cable.
– Do NOT carry or pull the device by its cable.
– Make sure that you do NOT trip over the cable. The cable should not be
kinked, trapped or twisted. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table
or counter, or touch a hot surface.
Receiving Your Shipment
– When receiving your shipment, make sure that the contents are consistent with the packing list. Notify your distributor of any missing items. If the equipment appears to be damaged, file a claim immediately with the carrier and notify your distributor at once, giving a detailled description of any damage. Save the damaged packing container to substantiate your claim.

Place the Dehydrator on a stable, level, and heat-resistant surface.
Stock the trays and put the plug in a wall socket.
You can stack the trays at two heights, depending on the thickness of the food. Stack the trays at 1,5 cm from each other for less thicker food. Turn the trays 180° to stack them at 2,8 cm.

On/Off Button
– Turn the Food Dehydrator on or off.
Start/Pause Button
– Press once to turn on the Food Dehydrator.
– Press twice to pause the Food Dehydrator.
Set
– Press once to set the time. Use the adjustment knob to adjust the time. – Press twice to set the temperature. Use the adjustment knob to adjust the temperature.
Adjustment Knob
– Rotate clockwise to increase the time (per 30 min) or the temperature (per 5°C). – Rotate counterclockwise to decrease the time (per 30 min) or the temperature (per 5°C).
Maintenance and Cleaning
– Only move or clean the Food Dehydrator when the appliance is fully cooled down. Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents. Make sure the appliance does not come into contact with water, and don’t touch the appliance with wet hands. The trays are not dishwasher safe.
Storage
– Store the food only after it has cooled down;
– The food is better preserved if you store it in a cool and dry place;
– Remove all possible air from the storage container and close it tightly;
- Place the Food Dehydrator on a flat, stable, level, and heat-resistant surface.
- Place the food on the trays and place the trays on the Food Dehydrator. We recommend placing a minimum of 3 trays onto the Food Dehydrator. Put the cover on the top tray.
- Connect the plug with a wall socket. Press the On/Off button to turn the Food Dehydrator on. The default time (10:00h) and temperature (45°C) will be displayed on the LCD screen.
- Press “Set”, and “10:00h” will blink on the screen. Rotate the adjustment knob clockwise to increase the time in steps of 30 min. Rotate the adjustment knob counterclockwise to decrease the time in steps of 30 min. You can set the timer for 01:00 to 24:00h
- Press “Set” again, and 45°C will blink on the screen. Rotate the adjustment knob clockwise to increase the temperature in steps of 5°C. Rotate the adjustment knob counterclockwise to decrease the tempe
- rature in steps of 5°C. You can set the temperature to 35°C-40°C-45°C-50°C-55°C-60°C-65°C-70°C-75°C. Press the Start/Pause Button after you have set the temperature to turn the Food Dehydrator on.
- When the timer runs out, the buzzer will go off and “End” is displayed on the screen.
- Disconnect the plug from the wall socket and remove the food. Caution: the trays are hot! Do not keep the food in the Food Dehydrator for a long time.
Tips
The drying time for pretreated fruit will vary, depending on the following factors:
– Do not store the food in extreme high or extreme low temperatures. The optimal storage temperature is 15°C or lower;
– Never store food in a metal container;
– Avoid containers that have a weak seal;
– Check the contents of your dried food for moisture during the weeks following dehydration. If there is moisture inside, you should dehydrate the contents for a longer time to avoid spoiling.
– To achieve the best quality, dried fruit, vegetables, herbs, nuts, and bread should not be kept for more than 1 year, if kept in the refrigerator or freezer.
– Dried meats, poultry, and fish should be stored for no more than 3 months if kept in the refrigerator, or 1 year if kept in the freezer.
Disposal – Recycle
– Do not dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the European guideline Directive (EU) 2012/19/EU. Dispose of the appliance through an approved disposal centre or at your community waste facility. Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please
– The thickness of the pieces or slices;
– The number of trays of food being dried;
– The volume of food being dried;
– The moisture or ambient humidity;
– Your personal preferences.
We recommend:
– Checking your food every hour;
– Rotating and/or restacking your trays of you notice uneven drying; – Labeling the dried food (noting the date and weight); – Pretreating you food to achieve the best results;
– Storing your food correctly after drying to preserve the nutrients. contact your waste disposal centre. Dispose of all packaging materials in an environmentally responsible manner
Service and Warranty

– KitchenBrothers provides a 2 year warranty on its products. To obtain service during the warranty period, the product needs to be returned with a proof of purchase. Product defects have to be reported within 2 years from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover: damages caused by misuse or incorrect repair; parts subject to wear; defects that the customer was aware of at the time of purchase; damages or defects caused by customer neglect; damages or defects caused by third parties.
